Software / Re: Photographic Tools
« on: September 07, 2015, 01:43 »
Rather specific, no? I don't need 1 or 2 and don't understand 3 when we have many tools for this already. Or we can pay somebody.
Sorry.

Truly feeble sales - nothing for months.
Stopping uploading and closing account. Not even worth leaving the pics there.

Forum still flakey. Last 2 days sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not.....
Hopefully it's only the forum that's affected by these continuing glitches.

Hi - and ta for that. I use Avast.
I will install it over the weekend and have a look!

UPDATE   decided to do it now, but Avast will not let me.    :(

AAArghhh!!!  Sits on hands so hard they hurt to avoid checking price....!!!!

;)

I'm resisting looking for a DP1M! (Though if SS could get itself back into gear again.....who knows!)

For the wide angle shot, DP0 Quattro is more attractive for me.  DP1 isn't wide enough for me.

Don't tempt me....don't tempt me!

Just got my DP3m so looking forward to seeing how things go. Yes, low iso only, even then sometimes some noise (maybe it's me - just getting used to it). Stands ZERO sharpening/high pass etc or looks unreal. We shall see. Would appreciate other users' comments. Love the quality though when I get it right!

Yep, very little taken outside gets accepted for one reason or another.
Latest - special characters. I think they mean an apostrophe. But the place IS called Jacob's Ladder. Grrrrrr....

Update. Just got it again. No apostrophe in sight.
Dash? But it's editorial and there is one already....

Double Grrrrrr!

Lee doesn't mention the assorted creative wheezes they use to pay contributors.....'less generously' when he compares to other sites.

It clearly says it IS just for one year. Then regular rate.
Offer not open to Educational people.
No idea what Creative Live is (and Google didn't help), which you have to belong to in order to get the deal...they say.....

Software - General / Re: Topaz Remask 5
« on: August 29, 2015, 03:49 »
And just it was unclear to anybody else - it is still a Photoshop plugin!

PS I see on my computer I'm getting various 'generations'of some Topaz plugins. Once I have downloaded - say - Remask 5, is it ok to go and delete Remask 4 and 3 - or might dreadful things happen.....
?

I too was pleased to see them back but....
is there a way to set a default of selling:
Standard and Merchandise but NOT ultimate (whatever Ultimate might be but it doesn't sound good?)? Or do I need to go into every photo to change this.

Also, is there a way to scroll through all photos uploaded in a batch IN ORDER to check that no titles etc are cut? The system seems to just produce random ones, and I see no option for 'next photo'?
Ta for any responses....

  • Its a client that uploads to agencies and
  • runs your own personal sell-direct site.
  • It embeds meta-data.
  • It posts your creations to social networks to help your promotion.
  • It will eventually mature into an agency.
Would it help you/others if I deleted 80% of writing?
Ta. Maybe the detail is useful for many - but I'm eversomuch a 'big picture' person and without an overview cannot handle all this info....
But can I ask a follow-up?
If it is a site/many sites making an agency (a bit like FAA?) which connects to FB etc, why does it need to be an uploading/meta-data-ing system as well? Isn't this very complicated - possibly unnecessarily so - as we have uploading systems. What's really needed, surely, is a site which doesn't take advatage of its contributors?
Or am I oversimplifying.....

My antivirus says this link is a threat.

Sadly, I read this and my head hurts. Is it an agency, is it an uploading/management system - both, neither or what? I see it has a cost but - what do you get?
We seem to be way down in the details but I need a clear concise overview. Already it sounds really complicated so my interest is lost.
Sorry.

Thanks for info. Just 333 live images then....

And is it me or is the screen quality of the (large) thumbs really bad? Some seem really soft (and I know the photos are ok).

Worse than the usual summer doldrums which I barely noticed. Besides, the doldrums started some months ago!!!

No doubt you are aware that many people are reporting slooooow sales so in way way the answer to your question is simply 'yes'. However, I fear it is likely to be a very long dead season.....

Shutterstock shares apparently down 30% virtually overnight, another key player deserting...

The remaining Big Bosses will seriously want to deter more shareholders from bailing - inevitably they will want to boost profits which is unlikely to help us......

I've got images still processing for months, many rejected S (what?), others  marked pending cutout (which may as well be deleted from what we hear)(and many are NOT isolations)....all very disappointing.....

Yeah...not exactly party time!

For me 4 x .38

Almost a litre of diesel......but nowhere near a small beer in a bar!

For me, all sites except SS holding, but not doing anything amazing.
SS though has been back to 2013 levels (with lots fewer photos).

In reality they seem to arive in lumps......small lumps...but lumps all the same!
And yesterday seems to have been a lump day.

Anybody else got this? The website can't be found but she is an artist....
