I had 2 PP sales show up on the 12th, and then today I had 2 sales show up on the 7th, going backwards, not working it's way through the month from start to end. Only 20 shots from my portfolio have found their way over so I don't get more than a few sales each month but they've gone in chronological order in the past.

I got mail from SS support
"Thank you for contacting us about the issue you encountered with your submitted content.
Unfortunately an issue occurred and the images you submitted on April 7th were not processed to the review queue due to a technical matter. Please please delete the images from "Status of Submitted Photos" and resubmit them."
I did so and let's wait to see will they solve the problem
I finally contacted them last night after waiting 2 weeks for my oldest images to get reviewed and got the same message about my photos submitted on the 4th - technical glitch, delete and resubmit. They didn't comment about my images submitted on the 7th and 8th so I wrote back and I'm waiting for a response. After seeing your response I'm wondering if they're going to tell me to delete and resubmit those too. Looks like there was a good reason to be concerned about reviews taking more than a week.

1. Keywords. Yes, everyone amends, adjusts and updates keywords to get a premium position in certain sites best match/Relevant matches etc. But these keywords were exactly the same, to the point they were in the same order and line breaks matched perfectly.
Setting aside the clear "coincidence" of exactly the same keywords for a moment, there is a reason they were in the same order - SS automatically resorts the keywords into alphabetical order. Any group of keywords that just happened to be the same would be in the same order.
Correct they do. But 'setting aside' dismisses the fact they are exactly the same. Come on. This is not a co-incidence.
Setting it aside because I wasn't debating the issue of the sameness. They are. But you are making an issue about them being in the same order too and I was pointing out that it's because it's alphabetized. The order and the line breaks cannot be considered proof the words were cut and paste copies because any group of keywords that were the same would be in the same order.

In Mid February Alex said at the bottom of this thread here that they were expanding operations and in about two months the long wait times would be a thing of the past. According to that we'll be facing long waits until April at best, and maybe beyond if they don't hit the target. So while while many of us face a drop in commissions and are admonished to work harder and build up our portfolios to help hit the new RC targers we sit with files in limbo waiting to be approved during the first third of the year. Discouraging to say the least. 123 was my 4th highest earner last year, but it's going to be a struggle to keep 40% next year and the delays in getting images on line sure don't help.

Thanks for sharing the FB post Joann. I hadn't seen that. Add me to the list of those disappointed to see it locked. I visited the charts just to chart my own progress and I was just about to jump several pages since I was about to pass over to a new DL category.

I've seen a very random migration of images but the oddest part is how it's usually just a portion of a series and that seems to be consistant for both new and old images alike. Only two of four in a series of recently accepted images were moved over yet none of 3 in a series accepted a few days prior moved over. About 7 older images popped up recently, none of them were the complete series. One of two, three of seven.

I keep notes on ideas as they strike. I also cull through trade magazines, stuff I get in the mail (ie: newsletter from local hospital, advertising circulars), etc. to see what's being used and keep files of interesting color combinations, composition, concepts, etc., for inspiration. I also like to see what's being selected as images to illustrate the articles on MSN.com and the various links on their homepage - I think about how I'd shoot a concept differently to illustrate the same story. Same with current events and stories in the news - thinking how would I illustrate that with my photos.

Add me to the list of angry contributors. Based on my average RC per DL I'll need to increase my portfolio to six times it's current size and 123 will need to triple the sales if I'm going to keep my 50%. That's quite a leap from what they promised just a month ago when they told me my current portfolio and download rate would grandfather me in at 50%.

I joined last March and only have a small portfolio there so far so I didn't expect much yet but I'm starting to see activity this year. Got a nice sale in late January and another just a few weeks later. Just two so far now but I was encouraged to see them coming close together. 40% commission on nice credit sales too - RPD average stands at $2.30 now - hoping to see sales start increasing more this year.

According to the SS keywords trends "copyspace" is about twice as popular as "copy space" and "copy-space" barely registers. The data looks pretty spotty though.
(and don't use CopySpace - that would be too iStocky)
Interesting that "copyspace" beats out "copy space" as a keyword but SS's system rejects "copyspace" as an error, suggesting you change it to "copy space" or "copy-space". You still have the option to leave it as one word but it seems like SS needs to update their keyword rejection program if they're rejecting the term that is the most commonly used for search according to their own tool.

I received one from FT despite the fact that they haven't paid me anything. I had some accumulated royalties but not enough to reach payout before the end of the year.
SS only sent one based on the payments they made, not any amounts that had accumulated during December follwing the Nov. payout.

I'm not seeing it on any of my pics yetl. I hadn't noticed the "in the same series" feature before either. I'm wondering how pictures in a series are selected. They have some pretty odd connections for some of the "same series" in my portfolio.

I didn't see the show but I have seen those photos and I find them fascinating. I grew up north of the city and went to college downtown. I've been in the Farwell building shown in photo #4. The Sculpture department at my grad school did an installation art project in the building and we had free reign of the building to do installations in any and all of the rooms. I remember it looking a lot worse than it is in that photo - darker and dirtier with a lot of debris from homeless squatters that had been living there.

I joined last March and so far I only have a small portfolio of 146 images. Checked in tonight and found that I'd sold my first image today - XL for 6 credits giving me $2.76. I hope this is the start of the new push for 2012. I'm working on building my portfolio across multiple sites this year. As long as the upload is relatively easy and terms are fair I'll give them through this year before I reconsider.

If sales and revenue are falling then unfortunately lay-offs are a likely outcome. If it's true then it just confirms what all the circumstantial evidence has been indicating.
Anyone seen Lobo on the forums today?
I had a response to a post about 7 hours ago from Lobo so he was there earlier today.

I dont understand really.. this happens many many times every month.. how hard is to manage a website?
I never run into problems with DT being down but they did mention on their home page that they would be down for 60 - 90 minutes on the 15th for some maintenance. The periodic outages may be related to problems with whatever they did yesterday. I can't get in right now but it's the first time I've run into a problem.

I have a small port. of just over 200 images and I find that weekends tend to be slower for me. Tuesday - Thursday seem to be the most active days for me. Overall it's been steady with subs in January but I haven't seen the OD images I usually see - hoping those come along soon!

I've been experiencing an odd problem for the last 4 nights. I'm getting server errors and can't get into the site at all, but it only seems to happen after 9:00 at night (east coast US) and as late as 11:30 (the latest I've tried).
I don't have any problems in the morning, during the day on a different system at another location, no problems at about 6 or 7 at night, but after dinner when I sit down and hope to check out the forums and my stats I just get "Internet Explorer Cannot Display Webpage" screen. It happens on my laptop, desktop and hubby's iPad.
Any tech gurus have any idea what might be up?

The poll asked Your monthly iStock (incl. TS) earnings in December (Voting closes: February 03, 2012, 17:39)
Did I read it wrong, or were you looking for the average? My December was my worst month in 5 years.
Ooops! I read the title but didn't notice the question was just regarding December earnings. Either way, my vote would have ended up the same.

I'm relatively new at shooting stock and my portfolio is small and still growing so my monthly earnings were low. I fluctuate between two categories but opted for the one that has been most consistent over the last few months. As far as answering the question "is it worth it" I would say yes. My RPI for IS and SS were almost identical, with SS just a little ahead by a couple of pennies. SS was my highest earning site, followed by IS, DT and 123.

Coming down to the wire here with a little over 12 hours to go if I'm going to have my list finalized by midnight... Most of my goals are still general - increase portfolio, expand to other venues, etc. I'm a big believer in having my goals be defined and measurable so that's the part I'm still fine-tuning. I plan to map out more specific goals in how I plan to increase my portfolio - adding people images, numerical goal to achieve, etc. Definately on the list is to upgrade from my 30D - looking forward to seeing the successor to the 5D MkII - that may be the one.

I have submissions pendibg since December 13th. Anyone else still stuck? or any official update from 123rf?
I have images waiting since the 11th but I think they had a big backlog. A lot of people are trying to get 150 images in their portfolio since the new commission levels were mentioned here and submissions have been high. I have more than 150 in my portfolio already so I was wondering if they were giving review priority to those that were close to the 150 image hurdle trying to get them over.

perhaps buyers will learn to search by age or downloads instead of "best" match?
I suspect at least some are searching by downloads or one of the other options. I have a few images that have been appearing in the first few rows of Best Match and now they are several pages back after all the crowns. Both images sold today.
