Considering this isn't the most commercially appealing and versatile of shots, perhaps he should be happy to earn 25 cents.
Nice photo, where is that?

During my 10 years in Micro I've come to know lots and lots of people and the very few I know that can actually live on micro-stock have got extremely specialized work not big portfolios but very niched content.
There are lots more living well off RM content but then again they have been in the business long before Micro-stock came about.
Thanks!

Depends where you live and how many files you have. I would say about 10,000 good quality and variety photos would yield some decent income to live in a developing country.
Thanks!

This is the first time ever that I won't make the $35.00 min Payout for this month of September--2017. I am sadden. Ever? On your first few months you started uploading and they started selling right away (>$35/50)?
You are right, it's a bit confusing for me!

Hello All,
Not a week goes by where I'm not asked at least once what type of content Adobe Stock is looking for. The general, catch-all answer is that regardless of the subject matter, buyers are looking for authenticity. Real looking people in real situations with genuine expressions and interactions.
That remains true and I expect it always will. That being said, a more specific list of content needs and requests has been generated. If you are looking for some motivation on what to shoot next..look no further than the list linked below....

MatHayward, thanks for your help!

hi, i'm upset, Istock don't let me upload more files, this is the message appear. "Error: 'submission_batch' maximum number of contributions reached" I have only 73 files on Istock.
Are you uploading through ESP? There you can have multiple 'submissions' each containing multiple videos or images. Maybe the maximum is 73, and you need to create a new 'submission' so you can add a new bunch of up to 73?
Probably wrong, but just thinking of potential reasons... as I'm pretty sure there's a lot of people who have more than 73 items in their portfolio!
Yes, I'm uploading through ESP. But, Istock it's a good place for selling photos?

Hi Brasilnut You should use a tripod, for stock. With this kind of images where i have control i use ISO 100. Remember this images have to be with not noise or minimum noise. What's the name of that wood you use?

So I started this business in October... I'm up to a portfolio of 750 on Shutterstock, and similar at other sites. I really have only been uploading regularly to Shutterstock, Adobe and iStock... some Dreamstime and Bigstock. Everywhere else seems a waste of time. Anyway, today I sold an extended license for the first time. Woot! And a few days ago I discovered my image in Forbes. Very excited. Seems like business is getting a bit better with each hundred photos. I also started a YouTube channel which adds some more fun to the whole thing! Just wanted to share!
Congratulations! It's a good begining. Could you share the link? please

On Alamy I find it varies a lot from month to month, both number of dls and net $$ per dl. This month I have only 3 dls, but almost $110 net. Sometimes I've had a lot more dls with a lot less $$. Sometimes I've had more for one licence.
Hi ShadySue, im not a native english speaker, what's mean net $$ ? Thanks!

Yes it's OK I sell between 2 and 6 images a month every month and make more than 123RF/DT/BS & DP combined and more than Fotolia or iStock
But they don't tend to sell the more usual microstock fair
Hi Sammy the Cat, Thanks for your response. i would like to know the kind of photo than more sell on Alamy.com. They have a section as bestseller such as Fotolia.com ?

I saw today my friends pictures with T4i look a lot better than mine which si with T3(both with the stock lenses). And we were on the same location together. Is there significant jump in picture quality with T4i? Or probably I didnt do the pictures right.
T4I it's better than T3. Look at this: http://www.imaging-resource.com/cameras/canon/t3/vs/canon/t4i/

I live in Caracas Venezuela I would imagine that due to the ongoing political and economic situation in Venezuela, you could make some good money from editorial shots (assuming you aren't already doing so). Simple and easy to do shots of people lining up to purchase what little food/supplies is left at supermarkets comes to mind.
These would probably be much more in demand than the standard boring Microstock stuff.
If these editorials are rare/interesting enough it's probably better to license them as RM at Alamy, for example, rather than RF at Microstock.
Well, it's not so easy. Goverment have some law that prohibit to shot photos to the lines of people. It's very risky.

People have to be more optimist. This forum look like a complain forum, people have to be more possitive. We have to concentrate in find solutions and do things better.

There are very good points of view, a few more pessimistic than others. In short, I think the best thing about a job is to enjoy what you do. I have hope in the microstock business.
