I think this is why our earnings going down, because of this new unlimited subscription
So when you're all still selling, that means you chose to support their unlimited subscription model? Because I asked to opt out of that with the result that my portfolio was removed...
So how do results of unlimited subscriptions look like? Has that started already?
But do you see something in the reporting? I.e. something other than the usual $0,35 (and rare $3,50) sales?
No, they haven't started yet.

It is an absolute nightmare. They were so promising as an actually innovative new idea. Then they got into bed with Getty and sales are absolutely going through the floor. Really depressed about this one.
It really is sad. Just a year ago, I made $450 there. This month, looks to be around $40. Such a good idea too.

Anyone think of just adjusting the saturation 10% or whatever and the video is considered different enough to be uploaded on other sites? Not just your Exclusive Site?
So you really want to be permanently banned from your exclusive site? Go for it.

Depends on where you live. SEP-IRA in the US, like any self employed person could do. Also you should be paying into Social Security if you're doing this full time.
Oh, and you can sell your equipment to buy tuna.

Well, I mean an image is easily discernible as stolen. Work in a template not so much so. Was just wondering if that was a concern of anyone.

I've got some AE templates on AS, which I like, because they're "compiled" into .mogrt format. On the other sites, you actually sell an AE file, right? What's to stop anyone from stealing some of the underlying expression code or anything else?

"We wanted to let you know that we've received our partner sales reports, and will be processing them and issuing sales notifications later today. We also want to use this opportunity to let you know about a change that you'll see in your sales reports from now on.
Since the start, we made the decision to subsidize any photos that were sold through third-party partners for less than $2. We did this from our belief that your work should be compensated fairly. Starting this month, we will no longer subsidize partner sales (sales of images on partnering photo platforms). This means that some of you will see sales under $1. As our sales through Getty and other partners increase, stopping subsidies is the only sustainable way to continue licensing through third parties.
We continue to see this as an equal partnership and are committed to always pay you 50% of all revenues from your image sales. Our team's main focus has been to improve your opportunities on EyeEm Market, where we are able to control the prices and guarantee fair compensation. Our Market is growing at a very healthy pace, and as it grows, so will your sales.
As always, we are grateful and proud to be working with such a unique creative community. Please don't hesitate to write us if you have any questions or concerns."

Three weeks no sales, this is unusual for me. Is there something happend?
Shutterstock is also slow for me.
Yup. I used to make $100+ a day on SS. Yesterday I made $16.

OMG
connect Pixabay contributors with people that want to use your images and videos and increase the exposure of your content
That jumped out at me as well. Not "connect contributors will people that will pay to license your content". Nope.

Looking back, I've gotten several of these $1.50 sales. Here was the response... "These earnings are generated from downloads on a new footage marketplace that reaches an audience of millions who have never bought traditional stock footage before. These customers will have a very limited license to use the footage clips; clips will be licensed for use on a single platform to produce short-form digital content. Since the license is very limited, the 30% earnings is lower than what you are used to receiving from the core Shutterstock collection. These clips are still available for licensing on Shutterstock.com, so this additional income is incremental to the value your clips can earn on Shutterstock.com under the broader licenses granted from our website."

So I saw today a video clip sale at Adobe for 1.56. I know SS has a deal which pays contributor $1.50 (which caused me to remove some clips there), but I didnt expect Adobe to join in on the rape.
What is this SS deal? Because I got one of those yesterday.

It could be worse, an agency once rejected Sean Locke and they never asked him to come back.
You on the other hand can walk into DP offices with swagger right now, sit with your feet on their tables and ask for a Bacardi on the rocks and a foot massage.
Ha! Ah the life.

Hello,
Two simple questions:
1- What size portfolio is generally needed before one should start to expect more regular sales?
2- Am I on the right track with these types of photos?

Thanks for taking the time to answer.
You've got exposure issues (lemons, cocktails (?)), some things are crooked (wood backgrounds), selective color (don't), text on the images (don't). The fly lure ones are good. I'd expand on that.

I've never had an issue. I just uploaded 20 images today and it was fine.
EyeEm web uploader on the other hand...
eta: and 10 minutes later, they're approved, lol.

I would just love to do something else with my wildlife pics than to have them languish (haha) on my hard drives, You can check around on the various sites, but you'll find that "wildlife" is an oversaturated theme, since many, many hobbyists like to photograph nature. Best to concentrate on more saleable work if you want to get into the game.
