123RF / Re: Anyone know the New Royalties at 123Rf
« on: January 20, 2012, 17:54 »
Is anyone else concerned about this sentence (emphasis added by me): We will also try our very best to maintain the levels of 50% nett commission to you for as long as possible.

Well, the response can only be: I will try my very best to keep on supporting 123RF for as long as reasonable.

if it happens which I dont believe, it will never be from 50% to 15%, they arent iStock at least in terms of sales/traffic but hey at this point we shoudnt make any predictions, will see..

It is just an istock logo right at the top. You see it when you log into the contributor area. gettyimages  "istockphoto" exclusive community.

There is no special istock contributor forum.

sorry but I am lost, can you talk or not about what you read inside getty forum?

CanStockPhoto aint just worth because of the fastest upload but also because of sales, they were my 8th best agency in 2011 with 137 sales for 160$, exactly 1.6% of my total earnings for 2011

General Stock Discussion / Re: Pixmac question
« on: January 20, 2012, 14:43 »
they have featurepics as 1 of their partners, perhaps you are looking into that

If that's the case, it's a huge success! 5 sales at featurepics is about my lifetime achievement there

LOL I have 11 for 16$ maybe in 5 years the 50$ that will be like 30 :D

"death by a thousand cuts"   :(

Of course, that's the way they want it. They've almost certainly got a five year plan or at least a two year plan.
If they shared that with us, we could make informed decisions, but they won't do that, they'll drip it in, slowly, slowly just as they have been doing.

makes me wonder what will happen next? iStock is not only the first microstock agency but the most talked one too, from 2010 until when? not sure if in a good way

And I would say, that the agencies should not do business with people in countries out of reach of the law.

thats what 1800? it doesnt make any sense at all, lets do that on FB, twitter, I really dont see how far business can go without growing into other markets

are you from CUBA? :D

I had 86 sales at Zazzle in 2011 for 240$, have around 800 products, since my start there have spent something like 5 to 10 days tops while watching TV, they were my 6th best agency in 2011 with 2.5% of my total earnings (top 5 - SS, IS, 123RF, FT, DT)

(perhaps too bright on the  top)
http://www.dreamstime.com/stock-photo-the-city-and-the-art-image20238250
(crop the tents below and the arch on the right, you have another pic from the same place but sky not as vibrant as this one)

(not the best isolation, we see some of the "plate" but like it perhaps they will too)
http://www.dreamstime.com/royalty-free-stock-photography-instant-coffee-image18820907
(or this one, again, top of the picture, isolation doesnt look very nice, for SS is acceptable)

http://www.dreamstime.com/royalty-free-stock-photos-boat-trip-image19757718
(like it a lot but dont know, low commercial value perhaps but show some artistic side from you)
http://www.dreamstime.com/stock-images-meazza-stadium-image17701614
(dont know about the noise and it does need a top cleaning, make it pure white)

http://www.dreamstime.com/royalty-free-stock-photo-accessories-street-stand-image20566205
(like this one too but perhaps lcv, I actually see tons of uses for it)

it would be nice to send a portrait too but not needed, overall you need to approach more stock pictures, tons of editorial and I dont see many success browsing agencies sales, hope that I have helped a little

Shutterstock.com / Re: SS Entry Application
« on: January 19, 2012, 13:49 »
dont have much to say unless you havent you tried it before?

dont know if you can submit editorial on the entry application, I would say pick your best 10, show what your are up to, different stuff from isolations, people, concepts, etc, you can of course submit the pictures you have on DT, you are going ind so no point of not sending

regarding approval ratio at SS vs DT, I believe DT is a lot pickier, at least lately with the not what we are looking for and similar stuff, perhaps not much on exclusives

good luck!

Conrad has been around for quite awhile and one of my Long time Favs and i have had him bookmarked for sometime along with Lev Dolgachev and quite a few other Pros in this business to use as examples for students and trust me this isn't all they do and it shouldn't be for anyone else either going forward if you have the stuff. If ya don't keep shooting isolated Kiwi or something. It's called Branding Guys. And when people look at someones work you can say Oh, That looks like a Bak Image. How many can claim That?  it used to be you could spot a Yuri a mile away,Now you can't unless you see a familiar model. Don't worry about Conrad, he's doing His art and will have a career for a long time other than Microstock.

Agree, I was sarcastic of course

« on: January 18, 2012, 18:48 »
Surely this forum can be used in a more productive way. :)

I am sure you arent the one contributing to it, actually dont remember learning anything with you (only to fight perhaps) and I am not saying other havent, like Karimala said there are different levels of knowledge, skills, years of stock etc

if you go over the major topics I believe you wont find me speaking there, I know exactly where is my place and if I should enter or not the topic in question

mainly I believe you should you read what you find interesting and valuable, I am sure you know there is an ignore option too

if leaf wanna change the way forum works I dont see a problem with it, until then I believe I have the right to post whatever I want
