Do you think it is legal to keep my money like this?

I have talked many many times with them about this matter, they always say they are the only agency doing the right thing, all other are somehow illegal or just dont care about it, I am now uploading to them but curious we have 7 days to submit the files after the upload date.. which means 30 seconds per picture, not sure if worth, I would expect more flexibility but nothing.. looks like we need them more than they need us, weird!

sorry but I am not understanding.. FT, SS, DT, DP requested the W-8BEN..

I have sent it to 3D too and have 1 payment from them (but I had a cut on earnings once I havent provided the ITIN which I dont have)

buyers paid 42$ for 8 sales, I got 29.4$ (70% comission (5 years locked in)) but got 22.88$ on paypal (which is 54%)

I've also been with Zazzle for about a year (see my Vintagerie Ephemera link in my signature).  Spent a solid month creating 2200+ products and was earning a payout every month until they doubled the payout level last month.  Due to life's ups and downs, I haven't been able to work on it since that time, but I'm nevertheless encouraged that once I can return, I'll be able to reach the new payout level in no time.

What is now payout level?

50$ or you need to pay a fee, sales need 30 days to be cleared too

I have heard that some people do very well there, though. I guess it depends on your work, your products, and how much time you're willing to spend on your store.

exactly I have spent a few days at zazzle, something like 3 or 4 weekends while watching TV, it is worth the time for sure (too bad no IPTC import)

848 products (2/3 of it with quick create)
2011 = 240$ for 86 sales

they were actually my 6th best agency for 2011

I dont understand really.. this happens many many times every month.. how hard is to manage a website?

I never run into problems with DT being down but they did mention on their home page that they would be down for 60 - 90 minutes on the 15th for some maintenance.  The periodic outages may be related to problems with whatever they did yesterday.  I can't get in right now but it's the first time I've run into a problem.

I believe you arent openning as much as I am, not a month that this doesnt happen, sometimes its only 5 min but it does happen

edited: they could at least have a message to buyers, looks like a website that doesnt exist

I would love not to get into this discussion but you are certainly pushing it

have you read what you just said? are you at least following it or just nice to talk about the dreaming career and all that crap?

do you really think its better to have 300$ per month instead of 1000$ but with 6x the work? (at least to get the pictures online, now dont see much actually) not to mention that I can go this moment over my portfolio/delete half of it and I will be at your dreamy rpi

I believe you need to see if you/other are looking into a hobby or FT job and also what are the expenses beside time, thats actually a big flaw of yours, I love how can someone talk about "other work" without knowing the real facts behind it?

p.s: Slov comparing 300$ to 1k $ is really pocket money

the coolest thing is that they feel they dont need to give any response or announcement to exclusives..

As a business, we are constantly looking to optimize our pricing. This is an ongoing process so you will see prices change from time to time; sometimes up and sometimes down.

Where can you find a generic property and/or model release out there that all of the agencies accept instead of have to use each agencies different version?

I have been using and changing it too when needed, latest one was shoot date.. it is mainly Yuri Arcurs release but with 2 or 3 things different, mainly fields not the agreement

every SLR camera, even a cheap Nikon D40 or an old EOS has great quality pictures at ISO100/200 :D

p.s: get a 50mm if you dont have the money to get a 24 70 or 70 200, you will see how good they come out

I think its a good idea, if people are willing to share such info.
I also think people would apreciate you sharing some of your own info.
Have you even shared your partner's portfolio?

No I haven't, but I do share my experience and pretty exact numbers every month...

I know your partner portfolio, found it myself with the gauge help and stock charts, havent said or will say to anybody :)

How do I see where they sold if it was photos.com thinkstock or some other partner. Don't they tell us?

You can also see how individual images are performing on TS and Photos.com under My Uploads by clicking one of the three DL links and then clinking the Partner Program link in the list of various types of sales.

CanStockPhoto.com / Re: Should be how many pictures?
« on: January 13, 2012, 20:51 »
aint the amount that decides how many sales you will get, it is about the pictures (quality) and their demand/supply, you do need a few pictures to be noticed but again not the key to success, far far from it

on my own experience/pictures I have a little over 250 sales at CanStockPhoto with over 4k portfolio (32 months)

after the login click on "Click here to begin uploading images" that will go into the contributor side

Think about what's happening and how the various agencies will react.

they will get more content, will be more powerful and even less dependent of contributors (how many files will be uploaded into them? that much? or the high quality? or new uploads everyday after?)

I really hope the "drop" of iStock will be good thing to all of us but dont really think it would, not a big earner anywhere but I wonder how and where it will "drive" buyers, to subs at 28 cents (TS) or into SS (a lot higher, some months 2 times more than TS and the trend looks good)

are the IS buyers into subs? it was never the idea of iStock, are they ready to buy at TS/SS? (for sure I guess..)

like you said many times iStock still have a long run but what do you think it will happen in terms of prices and royalties?
