5D mark II is still better for stock and a third of the price.
my first camera was a D60 (1 year and 3 months), then got the D90 (1year and half now), last summer got a 24-70 so I believe I will stick with Nikon for a few time, D90 will be my camera for a little longer, perhaps the D800 for summer or later, no announcement yet Holgs kind of talked with me to get a 5D once but it was a lot of money, will see how things go in stock and Canon too, always open

I dont know nothing about IS but I do know (and everyone else can check) that DepositPhotos have made a few top contributors into their highest ranking without selling what is supposed to

Most people use statistics like a drunk uses a lampost - to provide support rather than shed light!
if so I dont see a point to have a thread regarding month income/% etc.. there will be always people you trust in life and in this forum, other you dont but in this case there isnt a reason not to believe, you might want to know where it come from and how, looking forward to hear Bob here

please watch closely what you are doing with this new royalty you are coming up with, I believe 50% is a nice deal, make it to all contributors, think of tomorrow not today

I see, I have seen that page yesterday but looking there I dont see a "point" to join once I have my portfolio already there from yaymicro and zoonar (which I havent found already but have email them)
yay pays also 50%, zoonar I am at 75% (over 3k pictures)
why have you decide to join on their website? do you know anybody reporting sales from there?
thanks again
Zoonar pays 60% for partner sales irrespective of your percentage on their own site IIRC.
And those 60% (or 50% from Yay) are after the cut agefotostock takes, so probably you'll get more when you submit directly. Whether that's worth the additional effort, no idea.
I see, same thing that happens with other agencies, the all contract and categories doesnt look good, lot of effort

No it was just referred to me by someone as I have a lot of old 18th century images in my portfolio and there is a decent amount on their site, thought I would give it a try. I am not at Yay nor at Zoonar, didn't they they were partners with them. Now that the process is done I guess I'll just submit, wait and see if any extra income comes from there, will keep you posted.
thanks! a great day for you

how have you add your portfolio into Agefotostock?
I have already portfolio there from Yaymicro (LBRF) like half of what I have in Yay website
But I have also my portfolio into Zoonar, a little more files but cannot find it on Agetostock and they have been approved for that partner and a few others..
You can find all the info here: http://www.agefotostock.com/phroad/ingles/phroad00.asp
Basically it's a lengthy process. You contact them, then you need to print and sign contracts. then send DVDs of your portfolio that you want online to them by mail along with the contract. Then they get to the system, have to be selected, once selected they are processed and once processed and if the files are OK they are sent over to be sold on the web... and then you need to choose 2 categories and few other tick box for each of your images and submit them to await keywording approval (your IPTC data is read but they ask to choose 2 category)
Hope this helps!
Don't know yet if it's worth it, my images

I read once that 50% of statistics are wrong 50% of the time.
I know thats a joke but I cannot believe Bob would make up all those "factoids" on the post, it wouldnt make any sense

oh boy what . is going on here? this topic is going on other direction and total confusion! the only thing was the 35% of the SOD which wut said 2 times, but like I have said the max is 30%, end of story I have posted that link before Race, everybody knows their royalties on the different agencies, if not I dont know what they are doing in stock photography

no I havent, of course I know SS work on a level ranking, how can us contributors dont know our royalties?

« on: January 04, 2012, 18:52 »
I meant 35% for SODs. ODs have a percentage, they just didn't write it in the chart (but you can easily calculate it). But there are levels, unlike when it comes to the flat rate ELs
are you reading what I am posting? the max for SOD is 30% (over 10k)

Silly Shutterstock. They will soon learn like Istock did that this business model is unsustainable.
not following.. what are you talking about? increase in prices?
SS is keeping the subscription model and will never drop (I guess), many and myself report higher sales on OD and SOD, so I believe if they can bring more clients into paying a little more why not? we are also talking about different clients/needs
Graduated increase in royalties based on sales. Soon everyone will be at the 30% mark, which will be unsustainable. It was a joke.
I hope soon there'll be a 35% level:). I still have to get to the 30% first, but the way sales are going (for a lot of ppl), it won't take long
there isnt a % on SS, only the SOD and the footage too I guess.. the max for SOD is 30% (over 10k $) http://submit.shutterstock.com/earnings_schedule.mhtmlhttp://www.shutterstock.com/buzz/updated-royalty-schedule

I've posted several times now and still can't start a thread, unless the button is not in an obvious place?
1. go to http://www.microstockgroup.com/forum/2. right click on the section you wanna create the thread 3. right click on "new topic" below the 4 advertisings (its the 3rd option)

Too bad, because I think it's pretty much impossible to get 600 people to agree to anything, let alone all meet in one place.
really? honestly I dont know but I do think it is possible.. the problem would be how many from the 600 are exclusives or independents? as we know they have a little higher % of royalties so I believe they would want more and perhaps for ind a lot less.. all this 600 are making a "lot" of money.. they would want to get even more thats for sure.. it does look impossible perhaps..

1. the right eye kind of distracts me, maybe because its less open, the focus on the left looks good 2. too dark, dont see how it can work out (it wont impress reviewers) 3. its a very cool picture, kind of "evil bride" looking very serious, I would downsize to 6MP, looks kind of soft in terms of focus 4. like it a lot, he is looking one side and her to other, the compo is interesting, many stock pictures with those angles, not sure if as much profitable as other more regular ones, like straight horizon 5. very soft focus and noisy.. so soft that this doesnt give any separation from the background.. but a very cool picture.. dont know if you can bring that pic into "life" again.. the look of her is stunning 6. superb lighting, it does look very well lit and focus as well.. the isolation looks a little rough, dont think IS will take it, better to leave a subtle shadow.. or doing a right selection feathering it to the exact point
dont have any wedding pics, beside some tables, dont know how much they are appreciated these days but overall I kind of like your pics, compo, lighting, cool stuff

Total Contributors: 38160
1.6% = 610
they could meet in a place somewhere and change IS
You're off by a decimal place: 1.6% = 61
The rest of your statement seems very accurate, though.
38160 x 0.016 = 610,56

Interesting that 83.6% of microstock stats appear to be made up by 14.3% of the bloggers.
sorry.. where are you seeing that?
