I don't really see the point of a series editor when there are subs or cheap XS sizes on a site. Every time I see a whole series of my images downloaded for a few bucks, I feel ripped off. I'm not sure why I'd organize them, so it would happen more often. I'm just saying.
Well you're attacking the subs system then or the prices, not the fact that the search engine is overloaded with similars and that my solution of a blanket image would address this issue. By the way, I'm just thinking in a tech way.
Now let me play the advocate of the devil for a moment. Imagine that OP combined all his 50 state stamps on one image. That image would be downloaded a lot by all folks needing just one. It would rise rapidly in the levels, giving him much more total revenue than 50 level 0 images rising to level 1.

thats might be true and makes sense but it doesnt work always, I do have some collections and time to time sell on DT but I never had a high RPD there which in my case means that most of my sales are level 0 or 1, so I am better with 50 files than 1, I am not wasting much my head on DT, of course I will continue to support them but they are my 5th agency :/

KB thats a very easy one, DT loves "newbies" I am not saying that those pics arent done well but they are from very new contributors..

I will never understand really, they reject because of their levels (I dont agree but.. ok)

BUT then approved the exact same type of pictures done by new contributors.. they really want "old" contributors to stop working and want "newbies" to sell level 0 :D

p.s: what I am saying is that if a new contributor upload some of our work it would certainly go in easily..

1. upset the designer
2. lower DT sales
3. screw our earnings and stock in general!

panthermedia read IPTC file...and the 'main keywords' and other options are optional, so i usually just select all and submit, which is one of the fastest of agencies.

I have no idea will spend time to click those options and enter main keywords will make more sales, but it is just too time consuming.

the main keywords might be optional yes but thats 1 click for 100 files so not much work, you need to place 30% at the bottom too once we sell on agencies that have a lower price for buyers

cannot be only the total of sales, have a picture placed at the first page number 10th and that picture has almost 450 sales (online for 10 months), I cannot believe that tons of other after dont have much, I am talking about Yuri etc..

I am doing a search with just one keyword

4984
DT and DT once more.. pile all the 50 states on one big collage or you wont have one online unless you are a newbie or a DT favorite.. one day we will sell all portfolio for a 35 cents sub!

its all about the sales I guess.. you can have 10 sales and appear on the first page of course it must be a subject/keyword that is not downloaded often..

have a stock friend that told me once that having a file on the 50 most popular (week file) you need to have like 5 to 10 sales a day during that week

its all about the amount of your sales compared to other, today searched for a subject and found my pic on the 10th place and only has 70 sales for 4 months

type of sale might be relevant too

I really dont see the need of this feature but hey why not :D

I think Shutterstock is not a viable proposition for photographers who rely on a type of photography that doesn't fit into the "popular subject or style" and would never recoup the production costs associated on that type of images if a higher price would be charged for those images.

I'm not sure if you are better off shooting "popular subject and style" against Yuri, Andre and 500 others or shooting unpopular subjects against one or two people nobody ever heard of. I do OK without "popular" stuff. Big fish in small pond or tiny fish in huge pond ... who gets more?

I'm wondering, what do you shoot? You don't have to be super specific, I'm just curious. You can PM me if you don't want to discuss it publicly. Or do nothing, of course :)

you need to read more :D

It makes no sense. Maybe they have changed the way they do sums since then. I suppose I should go and have another look, if I can ever work out how to navigate around their site (I end up confused every time I log in).

Data of the last 3 months. If the acceptance rate falls below 60%, there will be a daily upload limit of 2 images/day.

Hello,

A few of your file downloads were paid royalties at the wrong rate
and we have made adjustments to your account balance to make up the difference.

A balance adjustment of $0.05 was added to your account.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

If you have any questions, hit us up anytime by email ([email protected]) or phone (1-866-478-6251).

My portfolio is apparently already on PantherMedia, I'm guessing as a partnership with 123rf (based on my name being joannsnover versus jsnover).

dont know but I have close to 1500 sales on 123RF and like I said 135 from Panther directly on their website, so I do see the need to upload, if I were you I would give them a try

perhaps they can explain this partnership here..

Hmm... I never have 100 images with the same "main keywords", I have about four or five at a time. So everything would have to be done manually. I used the FTP and sent several hundred images before they got round to reviewing them. They accepted more than 80% of them but put through all the acceptances first and then all the rejections, so my last 100 images had something like a 90% rejection rate. That meant I was banned from FTP and had a very low manual uploading limit (three a day, I think), until I could get the rejection rate on my most recent 100 images up to the FTP requirement (which may have been 80%).

If I had taken the trouble to spend two or three months using my daily allowance to get FTP privileges back again, I could have FTP'd another batch and had them force me through the same ridiculous process again.

They never bothered to respond to my message, so I have ignored them since. They don't sell much, anyway.

my bad, you can submit 100 at each time it wont overwrite data, you will only overwrite the following:
- rights of the picture
- 30% royalties

(remember that with over 2k files we have an extra 5% in royalties)

you had 90% rejection rate? I am having like 75% approved, if I were you I would email them..

the uploading is quite simple, not as fast as canstockphoto but not much, you can submit 100 at each time, you need 6 clicks to send non MR pics, MR ones you need one or two more (the 6 clicks are for 100 files once you pick all of them)

regarding sales as a very small fish I do have some earnings there and some nice sales, I had 1000 files now have a few more and

started in October 2009 (from 100 files to around 1000 four or five months ago)

135 sales for 270 EUR (lowest around 0.5$ and highest for 23$)

just finished sending my portfolio today, so will see how it goes with a lot more pics

comparing to canstockphoto (from April 2009)
Total Sales:    247
Total Earnings:    $257.65

At the moment I can't see anywhere in Veer that such information is displayed.

for now it looks like November, so doesnt look bad, the last week of December will be down, so will see if there is a chance to have a nice month

just seen your canstockphoto sales and they look very good with only a year online, I have my portfolio there for 2 and half years (a little more) and have 2x less sales, hope you have a nice rpd too

4997
if thats true, work hard and ask them money for it, I have a degree in IT programmer but never done much with it, go for it, we do need "this" kind of agency
Why don't we start an agency ourselves? We would make a marvelous team!  :D

how much $$ do we need?  ;D

honestly any new agency with cool royaties have my support and why is that? if they give me FTP and no other click on their website, I take less than a day to upload all my portfolio so I dont have much to lose

4998
Images with aspect ratios greater than 3:1 or less than 1:3 will not be accepted.

you need to check this out too

4999
Let's re interest this topic in about half year or a year or so.
No sales...sorry.

Patrick H.

I could shut my mouth and sometimes should but with a very average portfolio etc and around 100 files I got already 15$ from 2 sales and automatically entered my paypal, it will continue? dont know but dont have much to lose, if they come with FTP I will sent all my portfolio thats for sure, do you know any agency with 7.5$ RPD? there is more to win than to lose thats for sure

I am with them 1000%

5000
waiting for the FTP
I'm busy writing his code Luis  :P
