General - Stock Video / Re: $1,000 sales day on Pond5 yesterday!!!« on: September 06, 2024, 15:11 »I had 9 sales on Pond5 for yesterday's report totaling nearly $1,000 royalty. That's what I love about Pond5. Although sales have been inconsistent on Pond5 this year, they still deliver occasionally. I'm all exclusive on Pond5 and get 60% royalty on my videos. My RPD was over $100/clip for yesterday's report. On Adobe Stock, Shutterstock and other subscription sites, you only get less than $10/clip for a sale now. That's sad. Yes, buyers pay $149/HD if they can't find the same clip on Adobe Stock, Shutterstock or other subscription or unlimited download sites. They save money using sub and unlimited sites, and spend the rest of their budget on Pond5 for the clips they couldn't find on other sites. Until a few years ago, all stock video buyers used to pay per clip for decent price. So, it's nothing new for them to pay decent price for clips especially for big budget project, production and companies. Thank you!! 53

Accordingly, all your conclusions are just your slogans. I like how you are not bragging about how easy to make money on stock photos/videos unlike some who are trying to sell you a video course etc. lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ovbm5xXNOf8 54

Yes, I see those clickbait videos of all kinds on youtube out there. It's annoying. 56

General - Stock Video / Re: $1,000 sales day on Pond5 yesterday!!!« on: September 06, 2024, 08:04 »Hmm. Nice. Yes, I'm happy not seeing those $25/HD $27/4K clips from some top high quality producers who somehow decided to sell their clips for pennies. Most of them are now priced at $149 as they should be. There was nothing good for Pond5 and us contributors to allow those el cheapo prices for several years. That was the pure race to the bottom by Pond5. Horrible move. I'm glad they corrected their failure that hurt us all in the industry. September and October are the best months of the year. So, I hope we'll have decent months before slowing down in Nov and Dec. 60

You may make a few bucks, but eventually your new competitors will eat your cut of the pie. 61

Adobe Stock / Re: What's your weekly ranking and how many images?« on: September 06, 2024, 07:23 »3826 images. That's pretty bad honestly. Maybe you are creating images you like and not necessarily the images people would want to buy and use. Often the most boring images sell more than the beautiful images because of market saturation and lack of demand. 64

I thought that was a number from yesterday for 2 days of the week and I thought that equals to $5,000/month, but I think it's for the entire last week. It's nice to know how many sales you need to get to 500 level. Thanks!! 67
Pond5 / Re: Big surprise of Pond5's new "price test". They actually raised price on most« on: August 26, 2024, 16:57 »
I think Pond5 will make a lot more money because of the new $149/HD or 4K "Premium" tier on many clips that were formerly priced at $25/HD. It was a big mistake to promote $25/HD clips. They finally realized that probably and potentially after my price test of $149/HD on my bestselling clips.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Drop in Income from Highest Years« on: August 22, 2024, 20:13 »Are you a stock photo or video producer mainly? Which agencies do you sell now? That's impressive. I stopped selling videos on Shutterstock and AdobeStock when they started the video subs and eventually went 100% Pond5 exclusive, but maybe that was a bad business move. 71
General Stock Discussion / Re: Drop in Income from Highest Years« on: August 22, 2024, 08:45 »My peak year was 2018 when I made about $225K. Last year, it dropped to $148K, and so far this year, I'm on track for $125K, assuming the second half of the year is about the same as the first. But with SS falling off a cliff lately, I'm not sure if I can accurately project my 2024 earnings. You are holding well from the peak. I'm down over 50% from my peak in 2018-19. I used to make decent money from my stock videos on Pond5, Shutterstock, StoryBlocks and Adobe Stock back then. Now Pond5 is the only place I sell my videos. Are you a stock photo or video producer mainly? Which agencies do you sell now? 72

I'm very happy there will no longer be $25/HD $27/4K videos out there. Good job Pond5!!!

Shutterstock.com / Re: Another thief« on: August 05, 2024, 21:24 »
You are pretty much safe from those thieves if you don't sell on unlimited download sites. I'm 100% Pond5 exclusive. So, I don't worry about thieves.

Image Sleuth / Re: Watermarked stolen content on Youtube« on: July 22, 2024, 06:07 »
Watermarked samples are free for anybody to download. So, I don't see it as theft. I wouldn't report it as theft if I see my clip/photo with watermark being used.
