I am just curious if anyone out herethat submits new content weeklyhas similar result in their earnings chart?

52
Good job shutting them down Fotobia!  ;D

PayPal sent me e-mail this morning saying that their investigation was complete and they were releasing the funds (and I've been able to request the transfer to my bank a/c).

There was no explanation of what happened. Other than "We appreciate your cooperation." there was nothing even close to an apology for the delay...

I think it has something to do with Hillary Clinton's email server at her Chappaqua mansion.  ::)

54
Finally...

We have lifted the temporary hold on the funds. You now have full access to
those amounts in your account.

We appreciate your cooperation.

Yes! Same thing here. I attached a PDF of the email in my response to them. Pond5 is trippin'.

I went to PayPal this morning as 123rf and Pond5 had paid me and found that there was an unresolved "issue".

PayPal has placed a temporary hold - "   Inquiry by PayPal Temporary Hold". I clicked the Resolve button and most of the questions were about the shipping address I had sent the goods to as they thought the payment had come from someone other than Pond5 GmbH:

"You have received a payment that we believe may not have been authorized by
the PayPal account holder.  Here are the details of the transaction we are
investigating:"

They recommend that I don't ship the item :)

At the end of the resolution process I get to provide details about the transaction and I explained that Pond5 was a stock agency and they were paying me (as they have before) for licenses of my work. No physical goods involved and I couldn't understand why PayPal was so far off the mark in what was going on with this business. Surely there have been enough PayPal payments to contributors that they understand what's going on.

"This payment will remain on hold and unavailable to you until we complete
our investigation. We will email you when we complete our investigation."

So PayPal is demented and I don't get paid - lovely. It's a small amount (I don't sell much at Pond5) so it doesn't matter, but I wondered if this had happened to others or if it was just me

This image was rejected for potentially infringes on intellectual property rights.
Maybe it could have other kind of problems but were is "potentially infringes on intellectual property rights"?

Thank you in advance.

hmm, good news !!!
maybe ss finally sacked the renegade reviewer, and she/he found a job with cs.

think many will be starting to upload again to ss, if this is the case.

Maybe so! After a month of smooth sailing, all of my illustrations of a woman on a cell phone crossing the street were rejected for having irrelevant keywords such as these:

careless, cartoon, cell phone, clueless, communication, crossing street, dangerous, dialing, distracted, female,

 :o
You should resubmit them, I think there's some reviewer who doesn't understand english and just rejects everything to earn his/her money.

Agreed. I have just resubmitted.

Off Topic / Re: OMG America!!!
« on: March 17, 2016, 14:06 »
Nothing wrong with Trump winning. People are tired of politicians who promise things and never deliver. People are tried of politicians who are easily bribed by lobbyist groups and help their rich friends get richer.

Trump winning is a shot in the arm for America. He just may be the best candidate in this entire election.

The rich gambling hustler who inherited wealth and bullied his way through life is not the honest deliverer of promises you believe him to be. He may not be a bribed politician because he is the one bribing them. He cares nothing for Jesus, the Constitution nor poor people. He has always put wealth as the marker of success and will only help his rich friends get richer. He cares nothing for you and probably would mock you as a microstock photographer.

Meanwhile, he tricks you into believing that Mexicans, Muslims and young Black Americans tired of being treated like beasts are the cause of your problems.

He threatens people in America and worldwide with violence and war, but probably cannot shoot a gun or take down an attacker without paid bodyguards. He says he is tough, but he cancelled his speech in Chicago because he was afraid. He is a bully and all bullies are weak. I grew up being bullied and I always fought them. He sounds like them and he acts like them. He has no honor and hides his white supremacist ideals and history with the KKK behind the guise of "not being tied to political correctness."

He is the worst option and the only shot in the arm you presume he is, will be from the bullets of riots and civil war he threatens upon the Americans. He makes immigrant and Muslim children in this country fear for their safety as parents of other children cheer USA! USA! as a he mocks them. If you were an immigrant or Muslim, you would understand. In fact, after he foments the riots and civil war, you will have no nation left. He and the Republicans not only want riots, but they want to destroy the government. You will then emigrate to other countries and be rejected like you reject them. Most likely, you will flee to Norway, Sweden, Denmark or another country with universal healthcare and pensions (which Republicans hate). You might even be so bold to discriminate against native born Black and brown skinned Swedes in your new refugee camp.

Nevertheless, if you and all the other worshipers of this false god get your way, I hope that a Black Muslim doctor and a Mexican immigrant nurse attend to your wounds for the chaos that will envelope this nation because this man's arrogance.  >:(

May God save us all from this madness.

Manage Licenses

Whew. It's a little convoluted, but I'm glad DT makes it easy for us to opt-out. I never get ELs, but I'm glad to join the protest and have opted out of ELs.

Great news to hear! Sometimes I struggle with the "essential keywords" so it hinders me from uploading more images. I must have 1000 I want to upload with meta data but thinking about the time it takes to choose the essential keywords makes me pause... Maybe if I drink more coffee I can find the energy and focus - hehe

Yeah, that's a bit annoying. I just bulk edit and type in "illustration" for my illustrations. Saves alot of time.  8)

123RF / Re: Do you make $100/month at 123RF?
« on: March 05, 2016, 14:36 »
How many images did you have online when you started to make $100 per month at 123RF (excluding EL sales)?

I make about $68/month with 6,000 illustrations. I'm not one of the best out there. So that is kind of low.

Shutterstock.com / Upgrades to Shutterstock email notice
« on: February 22, 2016, 14:11 »
I just received this email and immediately said to myself:

"Well that is nice, but I hope this doesn't mean contributors need to take a pay cut for it!"

Over the next six months, we are investing heavily in upgrading the technology that powers Shutterstocks infrastructure, website, and mobile apps, to deliver improved functionality and a better overall user experience.

This work will soon become noticeable to you through small changes on our site and apps throughout 2016, and the schedule has been designed to minimise any possible disruptions, as we work to address some of the issues you have been seeing and update your user experience.

This is just the beginning of some exciting improvements being made and, as always, please email our support team with any questions and suggestions you have, or if you do seem to be having any issues. We are looking forward to offering you the best possible contributor experience.

We will be updating our forum on a regular basis throughout this period, so please do check there for the most recent updates. For any major upgrades we will be sending out email communications to everyone.

Thank you for being part of the community.

Sincerely,

Paul Brennan
VP, Content Operations

I'm bored of complaining, until we all get together and run our own site or buy a majority share in one of the sites, what can we do about it?  Or we could all just use the few sites that pay 50% but that never happens.  This is all our own fault, I'm sure we could be much better off but the vast majority of contributors still don't care.

Complaining is good. Squeeky wheel gets the grease.  8)

Any illustrators out here having 100% rejections, even though you have typically had 100% acceptance in the past? Demanding releases from drawings of still life and people that you make up?  :o

Shutterstock.com / Re: Opt Out of Enhanced Licenses at SS
« on: January 29, 2016, 13:57 »
BRAVO!  ;D

I received e-mail this morning from someone in "Contributor Success" about a customer request for an enhanced license for one of my images (for $22).

The "issue" is that I have opted out and they were offering to process the sale with my permission.

I told them I was very sorry, but no. My answer, in part, with a link to this thread, was:

"I realize you dont set policy on contributor royalties at Shutterstock, but  I opted out of Enhanced Licenses this week after Shutterstock cut enhanced license royalties for contributors.

It is a shame - Id like to offer the customer what they want - but I will not be party to the erosion of royalties owed to contributors. If youd like to explain to Paul Brennan that Id happily opt back in to Enhanced Licenses if Shutterstock comes up with something more reasonable for contributors, perhaps hed reconsider?"

The other thread on SS's royalty cut has gotten buried in a pile of off topic p*ssing contests, so I thought I'd start something on what action we can take if we don't like SS's recent cash grab.

This morning I opted out of ELs

Go to the contributor (submit...) home page and Account Settings is under your name - top right, between the earnings menu and the language drop down....

Whatever Jo Ann Snover says, I think it is best to do it!  :D

I just selected and saved Opt-Out ELs too (easy process). I get a few per year. But I sent them a complaint message too.

Let's tell them they can screw us so they can give their employees Pizza Fridays and gym passes on OUR BACKS.  :P

Now, unity and beauty canopy cover things,

Sounds almost poetic  :-*

Sounds a bit like Sarah Palin (with apologies to those outside the US - she's a part of this election's silly season)

You betcha!  :o

Pond5 / Re: Vector art at Pond5?
« on: January 27, 2016, 16:05 »
Less than two months ago I had uploaded 9 vector files at Pond5 as text, not best sellers and pretty peculiar, and yesterday I had my first sale for 3,08 $ royalties. And now I'm wondering if worth to continue upload there...
Any suggestion?

thanks in advance
.g

As long as uploads and submission is easy, keep going. They pay nice in my opinion
