New Sites - General / Re: 123stock.co.uk
« on: March 03, 2016, 05:14 »
I agree..

But he could have avoided it, if he didn't "make fun" of everyone on this forum in the first place..

He basically insulted MSG's intelligence by pretending to be a random person talking about a random site..

You just don't behave as if "everyone around you are a bunch of clueless people.."

It's not a reason to put anyone down but it will happen because he was calling for it..

Without being rude, as a logo designer myself, the logo is as bad as it gets.. it is just some text with a basic photoshop filter.. it's not even a logo.. this should be taken seriously as positive criticism.. that is if you dont want to appear amateurish next time..

Plus that 2 dollar price tag and the lack of information is not going to attract anyone here.. people on this forum are microstock veterans.. they are not desperately waiting for you to start a new site.. nobody cares.. you have to be serious with a serious introduction to convince people..

That's true..

How did this thread even reach the 2nd page?.. too small for 123rf to care..

I'm sure rf123 will have something to say

I sent 123rf a support ticket suggesting they might want to get the copycat site name changed.

Doesn't stop a bad site trying to start up, but they shouldn't ride on the coattails of an existing agency's traffic to do it.

I am not siding with anyone here but 123stock doesn't violate anything name wise..

123rf and 123stock are 2 different names..

123 are just a set of numbers.. nobody owns any rights to those numbers.. 123rf isn't the most unique name to begin with..
I very much doubt 123RF will see it that way and they probably have more money to spend on lawyers than 123stock.

They can hire as many lawyers as they can, but in my opinion, they don't have a case :)

don't get fooled by the poll..

it's (at most) a low earner for RF

you are bound to see your footage on tv at some point..

Heck I have even seen my vectors on tv.. a few times.. used in animations..

I don't come to msg as often as I used to, but when I do, it's nice to see "the orange man" here..  ;)

I am still using Leo's legacy symbiostock (yeap, not grfx, and not the new symbiostock, still that good old symbiostock) and even though it's been more than a year without a single update, it still works like a charm..

(my wordpress version is up to date and there has been no issues or conflicts between wp and the old symbiostock..)

I think the only time an update is crucial, is when there is a revolution like "the introduction of mobile compatible responsive designs" or it's time to get rid of the tables, and use divs instead.. or if there is an issue breaking the site..

Why fix it, if it ain't broken?

I also received that email..

123RF / Re: 123rf payment?
« on: February 16, 2016, 08:24 »
I received mine.  My guess also is that you weren't over the $50 limit.

well you probably guessed wrong..

"doubting of OP's intelligence" is not the right way to reply a thread.. why not think "there probably is a problem with 123rf payouts this month"?

I have been receiving regular monthly payouts since 2008 from 123rf, but this month's payment didn't arrive yet.. so OP is definitely right in my eyes..

and don't take this personal but this "wise ass" attitude has become a norm in the forums.. I probably do it from time to time myself but it's not right..

same here.. no sign of the payment yet..

(no problems with reaching the limits or tax form..)

Wait what?

Depositphotos are actually rejecting images?

I didn't know that was a thing...

Envato / Re: Contributors are paying envato's taxes..
« on: January 11, 2016, 04:42 »
Stopping your uploads may sound like a good solution but think about it..

if they can get away with making contributors pay their taxes, other agencies will sooner or later make you do the same..

It's not a matter you can go like "oh well, it does not interest me, I am not on envato.."

Envato / Contributors are paying envato's taxes?
« on: January 10, 2016, 16:57 »
btw guys..

even though the example provided was about me, this is not a personal problem..

you "the contributors" are paying envato's taxes..

this thread requires more attention..

Envato / Contributors are paying envato's taxes..
« on: January 10, 2016, 10:38 »
am I missing something? maybe I didn't get enough sleep.. correct me if I am wrong..

I have filled my tax information and declared my tax ID.. I am supposed to pay %10 to US from "my income" according to the tax treaty, but envato is deducting %22 or something like that.. (didn't do the exact math)

My earnings from an $11 sale was $4.50 last month.. after the US tax is deducted which is %10 for me, I should receive $4.05

but is it the case? no.. I received $3.50 from that sale and paid %22-23 tax or something like that.. (my W8BEN form says %10, not %22..)

it appears we are paying envato's taxes?!

am I missing something?

Veer / Re: Veer dying ?
« on: December 13, 2015, 10:53 »
Demanded to delete my port from them some years ago. No regret.

I did the same. Left about $10 on the table, but it still felt good to be out of there.

why leave $10?

they will pay it if you request it..

I removed my images last year and closed my contributor account.. there was if I remember right, something like $46 in my account which was still below threshold and they paid that..

yeah I had to remind them a couple of times and it took over 2 months but they did pay eventually..

regardless the amount, it's your money and you should request it even if it's a dollar only.. it's about principals, not about the money..

I can't imagine a scenario where you owe an agency a few dollars and they just let you keep it.. so why should you?

123RF / Re: 123 upload broken?
« on: November 16, 2015, 13:29 »
nope.. definitely not fixed..

yeah true, I uploaded images and history section shows that I have files in pending queue.. but when I click on "view images" link I don't get anything..

also when I click on "all images" in history section only 19 images show up which is weird because I have over 2000 and can see them via my portfolio and profile links..

123RF / Re: 123 upload broken?
« on: November 16, 2015, 10:11 »
for me, it's stuck on the processing screen..

but after a long wait (even though the processing never ended visually) files were in my pending queue..

if the files transferred correctly and they are not broken, they will most probably be approved..

let's see what happens..

123RF / Re: What happened to the faved/followed feature?
« on: September 19, 2015, 17:11 »
I don't know what they are doing but my income drastically decreased in May and June!
In the previous 12 months I was making around $300-400 a month.
May 2015 - $170
June 2015 - $140

What's going on?! >:(

same here.. I was looking for a reason and I think I found it..

I think I was benefiting from "faved" feature a lot.. too bad it's removed.. it really worked incredibly well for me..

this proves, one more time, we have to make sure we don't rely on any agency.. you never know when they are going to pull a move like this..

I have also jumped to silver.

How did you jump to silver?

When I check my account I still see past sub sales count as 1/4

Adobe Stock / Re: Introducing Adobe Stock!

In addition, all subscription sales at Fotolia and Adobe Stock will be equal to one full download towards your rank.

Mat, how about past sub sales? will they count as one full download as well?

Off Topic / Re: I got engaged
« on: May 05, 2015, 16:36 »
On the first of May, on my parents 45th wedding day, I asked my girlfriend: Te quieres casar conmigo? And she said SI !!

I am engaged. It feels really good  ;D Yay. Wedding is probably next year. Cant wait to start planning with her.

Congrats Ron..

Great News..  :)

73
Leo..

another question came to my mind..

I am not on the latest version of symbiostock.. does it matter for the conversion?

do we have to be on the latest version to be able to successfully convert to grfx?

74
Great News Leo..

I have a question: is the symbio to grfx conversion ready for our existing domains?

75
you are right..

canstock doesn't read IPTC data from zipped vectors..

123rf is ok for me..
