It seems that whenever I get close to 5,000 in my portfolio, istock swoops in and deletes a whole bunch of my images. How common is it for them to delete files ... this time I had about 4,910 images and overnight it changed to 4,710.
How common is it for them to do this?

... however I am getting a high amount of image rejections on iStock and barely any rejections on other sites. I am mostly submitting digitally rendered abstract fractal backgrounds and the rejections tend to be for the reason that there isnt a clear concept or narrative element. These rejections seem to be very inconsistent and subjective depending on the reviewer. My abstract images that make it through iStock review are selling well, however the rate of rejections is one reason Im holding back from exclusivity at the moment.
This may just be me, but it seems that I have more problems on weekends with my uploaded illustrations. So much so that I now stop uploading images after Friday mornings and only start again on Monday mornings to avoid issues that weekend reviewers give me.

At Shutterstock, my RPD is 60 - 70 cents for an average of 800 image DLs per month. And yes, since it's a hobby for me, it's a nice side income for me together with other agencies.
I agree with Ralf --- "since it's a hobby for me, it's a nice side income" ... I have a lot of fun making images, it sparks creativity, and getting that little extra dinero each month is the cherry on top. Also, during Covid, it kept me motivated and busy.

Odd ... the quality of the "AI Generated Image" images, at least on istockphoto.com, is really not that good right now.

Thanks ... I went in and cleared my cache including cookies in both browsers and now, I'm allowed back into the site. Go figure.
Appreciate your suggestion.

Try this: https://community.adobe.com/

Thanks. I tried the link and in both browsers, and I'm still getting the message you're not allowed to access this site, but then it flips to ... An Unexpected Error has occurred

Years ago, many of us believed that recency of upload gave an image a slight advantage in the algorithm on istock. What are the current thoughts on this these days?

Whenever I try to access commuity.adobe.com with my Windows computer with the Chrome browser and the Microsoft Edge browsers, I receive this message.
"You are not allowed to access this site"
However, I have no problems accessing the site with my ipad or my galaxy phone.
I have rarely used the site over the many years I've been using Photoshop and never had any issues there like bad behavior.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how I might resolve this issue?

I have received a number of these messages over the years and have been able to successfully get my rejected images accepted by showing the reviewer a series of step-by-step images used to create the final product. Sometimes, I'll number each image and write a brief text explaining each of the steps. HTH

Welp ... Woke up this morning and the images appeared in my portfolio. Next time this happens, I'll wait at least a week before I get worried.

Has anyone else had this problem -- several images which were accepted are showing up on the istockphoto website, but not in my portfolio? It's been 4 or 5 days now. Hoping they will correct this issue without my having to ask.

Last month was below expected; this month above... Go figure.

Agreed. Also, it likely takes extra time to open the reference images and verify them. For me, it typically takes about 4 to 5 days longer for images with reference images to be accepted than for those without.

Has anybody noticed that if you attach a reference image, the reviewers do not get to your submission for a long time -- days and days?

I was ready to be disappointed ... but, a little better than I expected.

2. I dont keyword in Lightroom, I use Bridge. Never had a problem using Bridge. The title field in Bridge is called Headline. Headline is the real metadata field name embedded in the IPTC.
Just curious why you prefer Bridge to Lightroom. I've only used Lightroom all these years.

April is probably the month when we all started feeling the results of Covid19

Super valuable info. I've been submitting images to istockphoto since 2002 and have been trying to figure out the order of keywords ever since. It's been a mystery to me, though I had my theories.
So appreciate your comment! Thanks.

Yup, straight to an English school! For us not native speakers it is a puzzle to find accurate descriptions sometimes. And even a good vocabulary does not ensure good grammar to title or describe efficiently.
For non-native speakers, I would recommend you find images very similar to yours and take note of the keywords they use. Also look at their titles and descriptions. That should help you narrow down the keywords you use. HTH

Once you open DeepMeta, it will give you the option to download the latest version, 3.17.2 ... and the Auto-Start option is available for Windows. I like it.
In terms of this month, much better than I expected, considering that most designers were likely working from home. True that as time goes by, projects will likely dry up. I'm prepared to see my numbers drop.

Wondering how microstock sites such as Getty/istock will be affected by the coronavirus.
