I have posted editorial images following the guideline given in shutterbuzz. I still got rejected. This time they have asked sth different.
Pls. put full date/year & location [CITY, STATE/COUNTRY - MONTH DAY: Factual description of the image content on [month day, year] in [location]. Qualifying newsworthy second sentence (if necessary).
They need me to put month day, year in the factual description.
Yeah that's the way it is and has been for quite some time. So what is your description?

A train on the tracks rolling along gets derailed and has an accident needing to be corrected, cleaned up and put back on the tracks in the direction it was originally headed when it first started.

Here is exactly what I get because i just did a submission. The keyword colour may be misspelled. If the spelling is correct, make no changes and click the Submit button again. Suggested alternate spellings are co lour, co-lour, col our, col-our, colo ur, colo-ur, color, Colo, cooler, coolie

I spell it both ways color and colour and never have a problem except that the SS spellchecker says it is spelled wrong and I just leave it and hit submit once more and it goes right through and have never had any rejection for it.

Gonna hurt some!
http://www.shutterstock.com/buzz/how-to-submit-vectors-created-using-other-images
I'm glad they finally put something in writing. But it's still crappy because folks that make art on computer are still getting rejected for not having an original scan.
I''m now going into my 10 images sitting in approval queue to add scans of drawings for vectors I created from india ink drawings in the model release tab. I will humbly submit to this new process. However, I hope they remain consistent with this policy.
Shouldn't be rejected but? Please note that you do not have to submit reference images for vectors that were directly created on a program or tablet. However, please know that our reviewers examine every image submission very thoroughly, and may request more information about a vector if it appears that the vector may have been created using a reference image.

I appreciate that you are on these forums addressing these issues ....
Well, the people over at SS are not really impressed because there is ZILCH communication from SS on their OWN forum. Why SS is commenting here and not on the SS forum is beyond everyone.
True! No one says anything on their own forum and lots there have no idea about MSG or what it is.

Just as with anything else there are some cases of misuse of photos.

Hi Warren,
Without commenting on a specific image or images, let me explain a little bit about our policies. At Shutterstock, the content and legal teams work very closely together to ensure the integrity of the marketplace. Our policies around editorial use, credentials, model and property releases, trademark and copyright (and other related topics) come from constant communication and assessments by those teams working together. As an example, you can see our list of known restrictions as well as a recent blog post about credentials.
Our policies come from existing law, legal considerations and also new developments. Since new developments can affect existing images, we also perform audits on the collection - i.e., there are times that we go back into the collection and change a determination on one or more images, though we try to keep those changes to a minimum. We also update our policies as necessary.
We're in the process of creating more educational materials right now to simplify these issues and better educate contributors on what's appropriate and why. We hope to release those soon...please keep an eye on Shutterbuzz, since well also be releasing those in article format as well.
Best,
Scott VP of Content Shutterstock
Here is my dilemma! So this weekend we have a Parade coming up free to the public on public property for everyone in the county. Now here comes the kick in the ashe! It is called the Daffodil Festival! Whoa there now lets back up the freight train some! A Parade that is called a Festival? So how would this get in? It cant be captioned as a Parade even though it is because it is in all actually the Daffodil Festival not the Daffodil Parade! It is and has always been done this way because we are considered the daffodil capital of the world so they have an annual parade and main st festival with all kinds of vendors and things as well as the first car show of the season. Catch 22 here? ?? And also the list of known restrictions hasen't been updated in at least 4 years that I know of? Also how are the Off Set images getting through all the copyrights that are in them such as interiors, books, magazines, paintings, artwork, furniture, models and more? EDIT TO ADD: Looks like the image restriction list has been updated?

Here is the loophole! Credential requirements: Images shot at any event requiring credentials will only be accepted if the submission is accompanied with either of the following documents proving photographer credentials:
I. An event badge (a sticker will not suffice) that indicates your authorization to shoot the event and includes the following information: 1. the name of the event; 2. the date of the event; and 3. your name (if possible) You can have badges made or you can make them yourself.

So is there some way of getting around the releases? Or do you have to have all the releases? Some of those images beyond a doubt need property releases and more! There are interiors, furniture, paintings and all kinds of copyrighted materials in some of the images as well as models?

I had one for .80 cents and there is a thread somewhere where Anthony explains why this happens.
Thing is though that a small OD gets more then a SOD?
I will look for the thread as the day goes along.

If it has been discussed I missed but just in case here it is.

Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Wonder Bread may soon be back in stores after a bankruptcy court judge on Tuesday approved sales of several iconic brands that had been owned by the failed Hostess Brands Inc.
This has no effect on my plans or food buying, but just in case, anyone cares.
If you bought Twinkies because they were rare, obsolete and unavailable, now you can eat them.
No you can not eat them! These are the last of the originals from Hostess they will be worth a fortune one day somewhere down the road! The new ones wont be Hostess.

I use FTP some times when uploading to them and had no problem last week.
Now I need to upload more so when I do I can see what happens but my last upload was reviewed as I was uploading the same day which is a rarity for them.
EDIT TO ADD:
Just tried and it worked fine.

Thanks. Correct, maybe one that fits in the back of a car or any table but with battery, cause in some places there is no power.
Which one you recommend?
That is what an Inverter is for.
