What are the chances of mobile phone photos being sold on SS?
Wrong question. The question should be: What are the chances that mobile phone photos will be accepted? And the answer is: There is almost no chance!
Wrong answer.
Yes, Can be accepted if is good.

Hi,

I'm suddenly having photos refused by Shutterstock for: "excessive noise, film grain"
The same images have been accepted everywhere else.

I thought Shutterstock was accepting everything.
Have I missed some news?

Thanks for any info!

You are wrong  ;)

I have applied in the first week of May, and almost forgot about it. Few days ago (end of September) i received e-mail that my portfolio is not good enough for dissolve...

My
Shutterstock
and
Pond5

And those surely are good enough :)

I guess anyone who has portfolio there should be very careful with any possible payment delays. They surely don't act like normal stock agency now.

I never have problem with payments up to today , only problem I have right now I wait over moth for approval for last footages.

It used to be very fast like on the same day.  Now it takes a week or more.  I don't know what's happening over there.

My new content sale nearly stopped after all these issues on shutterstock.
I upload couple images last Sunday, it was approved under 10 minutes and 3 is sold on Monday morning.

I was there three years ago and had high hopes for images.  If you search on "Gatlinburg Tennessee" on SS you only get 630-some images.  Seems like a very low number for a place that sees more than 10 million tourists a year.  Many of mine are on the front page of the search but sales are very slow.  I would just go enjoy it and not worry about it too much unless you see something really interesting - maybe a bear wandering through town or something like that.  The view from Clingman's Dome is very nice and you can get aerial-ish views of the town from the space needle or whatever it is called.  However, it vibrates a bit from the elevator and people walking around so can be hard for focus.  I thought there would be decent sales potential but my results were very disappointing.  Just drink some moonshine and enjoy it!
sgoodwin4813 thanks for respond, I read it to late after my return. I have absolutely same filing like you. I have couple nice pic but I fill more unhappy than happy from this photo trip. When I stop at Clingman`s Dome it was very fogy and visibility maybe 100 yards.I like  also Cades Cove area. This is not my best photo trip, I  do not know also why is this park with this big tourist number so popular.

Hi I am looking for some photo ideas around Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Newbie Discussion / Re: Long Exposure night photos
« on: July 13, 2016, 17:53 »
I recently took some night photos and all the long exposure ones are super blurry even if i used tripod. Can anyone tell me why that happened? What should i do to fix it next time?

Ps: I used Canon d700 with kit lens
Are you use manual focus or AF ?  What is blurred? It something static or moving object?

512
Thanks Desintegrator and Irina Anosova

I upload new video to SS it was approved I get confirmation email but video is not visible only messages on SS web page. - We're sorry, this clip is no longer available

Any idea why?
Thanks

Sorry for confusing you, I mean deleting submissions in the inspection queue?

That means they are being rejected. Pond 5 is now not allowing in everyday footage, only high end stuff and, supposedly, stuff that they are short of in their collection. I stopped uploading there when I had 110 videos rejected.
For sure I will not support Pond 5 with unusual or high end video in future. I think I will follow you soon. To much work for nothing ;(

Or is it just me?  :(
Me too I have trouble with news upload. But no thru FTP

I would always keep 2 backups of everything. 2 different external hard drives with the same set of data. 3TB portable hard drives are so cheap these days. Your time is clearly more important than $100.
Wow, buck up for buck up - buck up. Hmmm, funny ;) ;) Do you have time for living? Just kidding ;)

How the heck can you loose a file from your computer
This can happens, with todays technology very easy,   but question is How the heck I do not have chance like ,,partner,, download my own work from my ,,partners,, site? No more friendly ,,partnership,, ???

General Photography Discussion / Re: Selling rights question
« on: April 03, 2016, 14:54 »
Depends on how much you make on the image.  I might sell an image that makes $50 a year for that but would keep one that was making $200.
Thanks for respond sharpshot.

Do you think is $1,000 fair price for selling all rights to buyer?

Newbie Discussion / Re: Review time on 123rf
« on: March 12, 2016, 09:04 »
Is it me or 123f is really slow on reviewing? It's been for more than 2 weeks that my images have been waiting for review. Shutterstock is really fast on that. How is your experience with 123f and others?
Very slow ;( almost 1 month now
