Adobe Stock / Re: Poor $ week on fotolia
« on: May 11, 2018, 23:29 »
This week I did not sell quantity but videos and an extended license. This is a good week.
Leveraging the topic.
Before, when it was Fotolia, I had 1300 views a month on average (photos / video) and my sales rate was around 13%.
So with the purchase of Adobe, my last months were between 400 and 500 views per month. But my selling rate is 25%.
I mean 25% of the views become sales. Great.
But before with Fotolia I sold more and I earned more.
Any similar experience?
Another change is that with Fotolia the vast majority of my sales came from Europe. Now with Adobe are from the United States.

Exactly my experience. I used to sell about 30% to US buyers, now I sell about 30% to EU buyers, and overall earning are way down. All I'm getting now are those 0,99$ sales, before that I got a lot of X, XL, L, credit sales that more or less vanished.

Why Is SS #1?? I don't get it. wow have our goals dropped.!!!!!!!!!

They are only #1 Laurin because all the other outfits are even worse :(
Agree SS has no serious competition in the MS market....well maybe adobe to some extent

Sadly when Adobe first took on Fotolia I had high hopes as the sales values were reasonably high but now they are just selling for penny amounts like the rest and the sales quanitities have never really taken off.

I must say that I was selling more (a lot) when Fotolia was only Fotolia.
But maybe this has nothing to do with the Fotolia acquisition by Adobe but with the trend of the market.

Maybe because you were taking advantage of th,e strong euro a large majority of FT sales coming from Europe and the currency manipulation scam through their credit system.

From the other side of the pond, I can see a significant improvement, since the AS takeover and the expansion on the American market.
AS is now a clear number 2 for me, overtaking IS.

AS has not only gained market share on US soil, but also canibalized your Europeean FT  sales.
Possibly, your content is more Europeean centric, so you couldn't benefit from the US expansion. Now you only see the effect of the FT canibalization and you lost the benefits of that shameful currency manipulation.
Hence the drop in your revenue.

Of course, this is only a plausible theory.

So, what exactly does number of sales had to do with currency, you're paid in?

Not much.
But "selling more" could also mean "selling more" in Euros, not only "selling more" as number of sales.
I think that it is fair to assume that when someone talks here about "selling more", it is about money, rather than numbers.

Obviously, the theory is not applicable to Chichikov since, for him, "selling more" meant "selling more" in dollars, as he clarified above.

But it can be applicable to other contributors paid in euros.

I think you confused selling more with earning more.

Pleasant, nice, exiting news, I guess what you don't know won't hurt you.
Or accept what you can't change.
Why don't you tell us what you know?

I know that when an agency keeps you in the dark it's not in your interest.

I'd say that getting 94 for a single sale is in my interest.

Don't bother with Script for BS. You won't have any sales there.

[OFF TOPIC]
-I've just got an extended license sale of a file where the EL price is set to 100 credits. According to my ranking I should get 37% yet i've only got 16.5 credits. How is that possible?

Shoot me an email with your account info and I'll take a look. Extended licenses are 79.99 at Adobe Stock and the commission is 33% fyi.

-Mat

Thanks, I'll do that.
I'm familiar with the 26.4 credits commission, that must be the one you talk about

I looked more into the sale and it says "subscription X"

Recently I hade I sale, where I got 94,05. It also says "Image sold with subscription". Maybe your sale was the same as mine and not actually an EL sale.

There is a script, made by Sean Locke, which gives you thubmnails shown beside images sold. Ask him if he'll give it 2 you. Or search the forum for it, there is a link to the script somewhere in this forum.

Something is up! first zero day in 13 years at SS, in fact the next lowest was in 2006 with $2.50......somebody I know with a port of  60K files also had a zero day, somethings cooking!

I'd say your brains.

Stupid vile comments are back I see

There are two pages about glitch in SS earnings reporting and this idiot comes out with "something is cooking". I'd say my comment was appropriate for that kind of stupidity.

i don't know what think  till 17 th january impressive result than less than 25% of what earned in 17 th days. last week appalling with less than 100 sod only. 3 2,85 sale.
in my opinion this site has a lot of glitches and problem, it would be nice some buyer tells if it's true. yesterday ftp broken for long time....today sales appears slowly in total earning, total earning not linked to real sales.
they clearly cannot manage the flow of  bull...it from amateur.
yesterday saw some images appalling. i went to read the forum of shutter stock and i stumbled on one thread of a guy asking some comments about portfolio...i started crying. unbelievable.

We're crying too, reading your same * over and over and over and over and over again. ...and over again.

sure for u selling 2 photo a day is normal considering the quality of portfolio.
i'm talking for serious contributor.

Obviously you're not selling much either, consider your constant whining here.
