Pretty certain they're using AI on first submission. How else can someone explain that images are reviewed often a few seconds after submission?

Evidence indicates that Adobe Stock is emerging as a strong contender to soon overtake Shutterstock as a stock-photography cash-cow for many contributors. In this exclusive stats-heavy blog post Ill explore potential trends emerging in this rivalry for the coveted first spot in contributors hearts and wallets. This way we can try to draw an accurate picture of what is the reality other than pure speculation. Would be great to share (within reason, of course) your own experiences, in particular which types of content do better at AS vs SS. https://brutallyhonestmicrostock.com/2020/02/08/shutterstock-vs-adobe-stock/

Other than iStock, AS, SS and Alamy, I don't care about rejections at these small agencies.
Do others feel the same way?

Brasilnut...forget about 40% on pond5 sales when you sell the same clip on istock for peanuts...
I hear you but I don't think this applies to me since I only have 148 (commercial) clips at iStock vs 1,269 (commercial + editorial) clips on Pond5

Sounds like a really bad start for their business.
Portfolios with useless keywords will never achieve a good ranking and the quality contributors will stay away.
There is potentially a lot of demand for a service like that.
Why not do it right, pay attention to details and have reliable growth?
Yes, some of their keywording has been poor. Myself and a few other contributors have pointed this out, using practical examples and they are implementing a more robust process. I've just checked some of the latest uploaded images and the keywording has improved. They're a young company and lots of room for improvement but I believe that their management have a good attitude and are aware of the challenges they face to achieve growth.

In my case, earning $3.51 on 4845 assets for January is concerning.

We're talking about a small part of his website, where he offers premium content, that he's put up a token paywall of $2 for the first month followed by $5 thereafter. Most of you spend more everyday on coffee!!
His monthly earnings report, which are extremely useful, is unaffected.

I feel like I'm on a treadmill.
I keep uploading but my earnings remain (more or less) the same.
Only hope I have going forward are 4K clips.

BME, largely thanks to $60 for a clip that i wasn't sure would have been good enough to upload. iStock roller-coaster continues to amaze me.

Hi Steve, thanks for sharing. Nice to see that your video sales are starting to contribute to a significant portion of your overall earnings

Very disappointing all-round. Let's see in a few days if iStock gives a late-xmas present.

Am I playing with fire, literally?
Political sensitivity aside, I reckon its shelf life won't be that long. If there's not going to be a war, and no big aftermath (like MH17), the demand for a photo like this will be very low.
By the way, how did your other apocalyptic photo manipulations do in terms of revenue?
Thinking of perhaps expanding the US x Iran (& proxies) concepts beyond this "accident". I don't want/need the exposure so also thinking of dumping them on Wirestock so I remain anonymous (sacrifice the 15% on sales to keep me out sight). The flooding series is selling consistently, also had some sales with Amazon on fire concepts but like the news it has died down. Many have been accepted at Arcangel for book covers and those take a while. Best sale so far has been this plane on fire concept sold on Alamy for $115 gross.

If they add a Black Box style revenue share system for collaborators I would set up some shoots and join. Beyond that I prefer to create my own meta data. There are also two agencies on their list I do not want to upload to. Is there an per agency opt out?
Yes, it's easily possible to opt out of one or more of the agencies they have listed by ticking a box.

SS is still a power-horse. I sense great things are coming for AS. More of the rest for the others, which means very low expectations.
Alamy is unpredictable and can positively surprise.
