I'm bumping this up and asking if anyone has been paid lately. I'm getting a little annoyed. They don't owe me much but getting paid is part of the scheme. I understand they are having a difficult time with lawyers but that only goes so far. If they are that far gone then I should leave before they owe more.

Sometime in the last few days, the price of Main files increased 1 credit for all sizes M and above.
S: 2-->2 M: 3-->4 L: 4-->5 XL: 5-->6 XXL: 6-->7 XXXL: 7-->8
That's a 33% price increase on Medium, but only 14% by the time you get up to XXXL.
Looks like you're ordering t-shirts for the beer league.

The upcoming V3 has caught my eye. It has some really cool looking specs

Next week the rant will be reversed.
I definitely see a trend in SS for suddenly increasing rejections.
A singular point can't be a trend.

Adobe announced Lightroom Mobile for iPad today. This is a FREE app but it requires the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan or the Complete Plan.
I hate being thought of as stupid and gullible. Adding a feature to an already expensive plan is not FREE. Call it an enticement or bait for those so brash as to want to own their software without monthly fees. Up yours Adobe.

Are people getting paid in a reasonably timely manner from Revostock these days? I have a pending payment going back a couple of months now and still haven't seen anything even though the 15th has passed (again).

Stuck a hot light against an expensive coffee table during an architectural shoot. Sniff sniff sniff, hmmmm smells like something is burning says the interior designer.

You know what, I'm seeing it now, too. After looking at my stats, it appears that on the 3rd waxing crescent moon phase of the year, DLs are shut off. Also on alternating waning gibbous moon phases.
Some unique planetary alignment events also coincide with BDEs. And a meteor shower later this month should be expected to boost sales.

Yeh, I noticed that too; it's just harder to extract that sort of thing with my simple forth order DSP filter on my oldish Cray. Not until I hacked the mainframe at the NSA, and reworked it to properly analyze my 2 downloads a day, could I get to bottom of this.

The sale there definitely have a trend. There is about a 8 week cycle where sales dip very low then peak after 4 weeks and then dip for another 4 weeks. The 6 month trending graph they display has always shown this. The low to high differential is significant. I'm not sure what they do, but they do it on a regular basis.

The CC idea only makes sense for the most prolific of users. The problem for Adobe is that PS is maxed out for most users. The only reason to upgrade is because they don't allow color profile downloads for newer cameras on older versions. And I doubt people are upgrading cameras like they used to either. Once it's got 4 wheels and looks like a tractor and all you have need for is a tractor, why would it matter if it has a digital dash?

I've not bothered with Dreamstime but have uploaded to FT. They have a harsh similars policy and generally sell little for less than most others. i.e. Forget about it.

It's really premature to place this thread in "Sites that no longer exist", isn't it?
Finally someone who has noticed...
And no, it is not. This is well known scenario, after small or zero sales, no payments, no communication...
Really then there should be a Not doing well, but are trying hard and with some luck who knows category.

So , to the complainers on this post, if an agency doesn't say anything you're up in arms, and if they do -- you're up in arms?

FWIW, agefotostock is one of the few long term, still owned by the same people, stock agencies left in the world. They have always had a very high reputation amongst photographers. They have always paid on time, and paid a full 50% even on RF images, this when the immediate trend was to pay 20%. Lots of noses out joint here but believe there are way worse places for your images to end up.

Mine came through as normal on the 15th. What was weird though, is I made a sale on the 16th, and was then pain for that sale on the 17th. I thought they might have gone for some sort of instant payment scheme.

For problems like this, why come here and not just write Pond with the problem? Some people say they aren't having problems yet you rag on about it. Make sure you drop them as soon as possible.

The various factions of the Getty contributor spectrum all say the same thing, "they hate me". This is not true; they are very considerate and even handed; they hate everyone equally.

My guess is that this PROBABLY signals that Flickr/Yahoo is going to get into the photo selling business sooner than later.
With 500px.com launching their PRIME commercial selling initiative, its likely that Flickr/Yahoo is probably going to do something similar.
Regardless of what happens - I just hope that someone emerges from the chaos to give Getty a true competitor - and hopefully that someone will understand that the photographers are still an integral part of the equation.
It's nice to dream but in reality it will likely drive prices even lower. Yahoo certainly won't be competing on their great looking and easy to use website.

This explains the move some time ago to increase the allowable submission rates from a very controlled few to near infinity.

I'm feeling a bit dumb here, but I can't find the deactivate button anywhere. Can someone help a slightly old and near sighted photographer find it. Speak slowly. Thanks.

As everyone knows, once a black hole forms, it will continually attract and hold all matter within its greedy reach. Subscription models are that black hole. You can't see into them and nothing gets out to give the viewer an idea of what happens within.

Perhaps not every photographer, but the stock community in general, has produced imagery of every conceivable subject in huge varieties of style for a long time now, BUT, the powers who sell these images would too often reject many of them as non commercial. Now, many of those same images are considered modern, stylistic and real, a euphemism for * but the market is soft and we have to try something. The dog does not like to be wagged.

Alamy doesn't refund any more sales than anyone else. I don't like the refunds but I don't think they should lose customers to satisfy a 30 day policy. Don't worry, be happy.
