i've just gone back to uploading on the site
Steve, did you have some of these same issues and finally get past them? If so, was there some magic button that worked for you? Some secret handshake?
If so, I'd appreciate knowing what you did. Thanks!
i'm not using ftp/ftp at all - just the drag/drop on the site itself - slower than ftp but i can be working elsewhere
For still images I strongly recommend using the drag and drop method. I only use SFTP for video uploads. We appreciate all the feedback here. Thank you! Mat

I'm not familiar with Fetch so I can't speak to their software. Please try using an alternate SFTP uploader and let me know if you find a different result. I recommend Filezilla personally.

how does the search algorithm come up with "fresh, on trend vibe" content?
Sorry Pancake, I don't have that information available to share. -Mat

Hi Jo Ann, The featured content that is surfaced through this sort option has a fresh, on-trend vibe for lifestyle images and is suited for searches where such content makes sense, for example, a customers search on backgrounds wouldnt benefit much from this sort option. Searching by featured content surfaces content that wont have the same visibility in the default search by relevancy, and it provides Adobe Stock customers a quick option to mix up the search results. You can read about this and other search features here: https://stock.adobe.com/search-featuresThank you, Mat Hayward

Hello,
I am thinking about creating my first own website/homepage. Any suggestions, where I should do it nowadays? There are so many. Of course I would like upload as many possible, but if there is a limit and the CEO is good or any other thing, then I would start with that limited one.
After building that website, I want to concentrate on social medias too.
Or should I do it the other way around? first social media, then own website?
I do not want to pay anything in the beginning.
If you submit to Adobe Stock, you have free access to Adobe Portfolio. It's a very user-friendly, fully hosted, customizable site you can build your web page on. https://portfolio.adobe.com/-Mat Hayward

Just today I wanted to contact Adobe again, because I want to close my account after one year with NO SALES. But yes, already many months most of my images I uploaded to Adobe via wirestock and got some sales there. But before I even could start writing Adobe about closing my personal account, I saw that I got an email from adobe: MY FIRST SALE on my personal account. RPD 23 Cent!!!!! Not 33 or something like that. Hey, never get a sale, but now seems to be I got the first sale under new payment - see exciting announcement! 23 Cent is much more than I expected, but still not the 33 garant Cent from the PAST. YES! It starts now.
But that does not change my mind/decission: I will close my account and upload them to wirestock. But I am still curoius if I should leave Adobe totally now - even not submit to Adobe via wirestock? ? Wirestock told me already, that they fall under the same payment announcement like every contributor. Lets see 1 or 2 more month. Then I might ask wirestock to delete all my images on Adobe there too.
Am I right! The new chance for that bad sellers on adobe! Wow! I am happy!
Hi @Kall3bu, This is likely a tax form issue in your account with maximum deductions withheld from a traditional subscription minimum payment. Send me an email with your Adobe ID and the image number and I'll take a look. If you decide you do want to close your account, I can assist you with that also. Email: [email protected]Thanks, Mat

I tried uploading another footage file and am happy to see it is reading all metadata including the title now.
You beat me to it. The engineering team has already fixed the issue. Thanks for your patience with that! -Mat

Mat, Upload is not working with Safari. Cannot drag and drop. Clicking on Browse does not work. I can upload using Chrome or SFTP but none of the functions for uploading work with Safari. I can see the image uploaded with SFTP but cannot complete the operation - none of the buttons are clickable in Safari.
I will share this information with the engineering team though I do not believe that would be related to the switch to SFTP. I recommend you continue to use Chrome when possible. -Mat

Uploads are working now. However the metadata is not being read
Correction: Keywords are being read but not titles
Can you send me a file number that did display the keywords but not the titles. We want to look into this further. My email is [email protected]Thanks, Mat

I have confirmed there is an issue with the system reading metadata from videos uploaded through SFTP. Images and vectors appear to be fine. Our engineering team has been made aware and has the fix listed as a priority. I will update this thread when I have an update. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Can you confirm if you are receiving this error when you are attempting to log in with your SFTP software, or is this happening in the Adobe Stock contributor portal?
thanks,
Mat
Now, everything is ok, not getting error message, thanks!
OK cool, there was a temporary issue that is now resolved. Will you please confirm you can upload using the new SFTP credentials? Thanks, Mat

#but I don't think that these countries don't allow Adobe to sell software.#
Yes, I would wonder, too.
Has anybody an idea how long time Mat is away? I do not want suspect that he run away from these questions, because he never did that before. But I think it is really time to get some answers, isnt it?
I'm here, I don't have any additional information to share at this time. -Mat

As Adobe Stock expands into new countries such as Egypt, we are building collections, starting with a selection of high quality images from our top sellers. We are adding regularly new content as we expand our efforts in developing the service offered into these countries.
As already discussed the full contributor portfolios remain available in our established markets. Contributors can quickly verify that by switching the Region in the footer of Adobe Stock to US or UK.
thank you,
Mat Hayward
Does any one understand anything of this !! does developing your services in new countries means to hide thousands of photos ! what you are saying is not logic , and don't have any meaning indeed
have you read what Jo Ann Snover wrote ?? "One other comment is that I decided to do a search (in English) for girl hijab on both the US site and the Egyptian site. I was very surprised to see that while the US site returned 92,862 results, the Egyptian site returned only 400! " Do you imagine what are you doing this type of photos usually purchased from these countries that you ban them from seeing these photos !
your reply was kind but it doesn't have any sense , and I wish you respect your contributors and buyers from all countries and fix this mistake ASAP
One of Adobes core principles is to support diversity, and an important aspect of diversity is respecting the sensitivities of different cultures. As we expand into new countries, we are building collections which strive to be culturally appropriate, starting with our high quality images from our top sellers.

Thanks everyone for your candid feedback and questions. Please know that many hours have been spent at Adobe to explore and understand the potential impact and benefits to both business clients and Contributors in introducing these offers. To answer the question about what unlimited really means it means there is no monthly cap on number of downloads. While we do not anticipate abuse due to the limited availability of these plans, our team will be closely monitoring customer behavior to ensure it remains in the best interest of all parties involved. Theres a nuance here that I want to make a bit more clear, and that is: the existing customer base for stock isnt going anywhere. These new offers are primarily aimed at equipping more users in SMB and enterprise organizations with access to creative tools and stock content users who typically arent currently licensing stock. We are leveraging the massive base of customers loyal to Adobe around the world to continue growing the marketplace. This benefits contributors, customers, and Adobe Stock. Adobe needs to be responsive to market changes, while balancing the needs of creative Contributors, maximizing your value and payouts, too. Regarding the questions about royalty calculations, every day, we generate an overall earnings pool equal to 33% of our total Adobe Stock CCE Pro revenue for the day. We then allocate these earnings to contributors based on the number of downloads. As a reminder, for customers taking advantage of the first year free offer, Adobe Stock is absorbing this cost. The revenue they would be paying outside of the promo offer is added into the overall earnings pool. To clarify the difference in licenses. Pro Edition for Enterprise customers (CCE) downloads are provided an Extended license and Pro Edition for Teams (CCT) are provided an Enhanced license. Please review the links provided in the FAQ for additional information about the license agreements. https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/contributor-faq-for-cct-cce-pro-edition-.htmlI am traveling tomorrow for a family matter but will do my best to check in when I can. We truly appreciate your feedback and value your contribution to Adobe Stock. Thank you, Mat Hayward

Today Adobe Stock announced Pro Edition, a new plan for Creative Cloud for Teams and Enterprises, which supplies unlimited downloads from our Standard collection of photos, illustrations, and vectors. Contributors receive 33% of Adobe revenue from stock. Payouts will be distributed among Contributors proportional to their downloads. Adobe created Pro Edition for medium to large businesses and enterprises, aiming to equip all users in an organization with access to stock content alongside their CC apps. This empowers many more users to create, as opposed to only select users as has been the case in the past. Pro Edition is only available to qualifying businesses, to maximize service value to customers and overall payouts to Contributors. For more info about the Pro Edition, please see the Contributor FAQ here: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/contributor-faq-for-cct-cce-pro-edition-.htmlLet us know if you have any questions, Mat Hayward

I expect they will help, they are very helpful
I asked our moderation team supervisor to look into this. He determined that the majority of rejections you referenced were not actually for "similar files" but were rejected for technical flaws including excessively burned texture. Some files with the burned texture or other technical flaws did actually get approved which was an error. The team is re-reviewing the files. Those that were refused as similar but otherwise meet our technical requirements will be pushed online. Those that were approved in error that don't actually meet our technical requirements will be refused. Those that were rejected for technical reasons will remain offline. We will not be able to put the entire collection online due to the quality issues. Hello Mat,
thanks for your reply - Yes, the support was quick and had a good answer to this, like this: "It may happen, that wrong rejection reasons will be submitted, which means similarity can happen in my portfolio or in the Adobe Stock database".
I am totally fine with that and can understand, that Adobe maybe doesn't want to have hundreds of different 'country XY'-flags :-)
And yes, i know some of the images have been rejected doe to quality issues - I have of course only written down the image IDs in the support email which have been rejected due to "similarity" (14 Images).
Actually I am waiting for an answer to the question, if uploading the remaining 100 flags I have here waiting, could lead to an account block as I had one before due to similar content. As you can imagine I do not want to get blocked again ;-)
For future questions like this, I would encourage you to reach out to the contributor relations team via the contact us link found at the bottom of the Adobe Stock contributor portal as it's not always possible to provide specific support for an individual case through a forum. Will do that, thanks for the hint.
Have a nice day @all
I wouldn't expect you to get blocked for spam if the flags are representing different countries, but it's a fine line here. If you are submitting the same flag but with different variations such as waving in the wind vs static then that likely will be perceived as spam. I see very little value to this sort of batch upload. There is a more-than-abundant supply of these types of files. I strongly recommend you focus your time and energy elsewhere. -Mat

Thanks Matt, that worked great. But I normally work in Lightroom, and when I used it to add keywords and other metadata to AdobeStock all the fields were blank. So I had to go to Bridge and do it all over again. So, do you have any information on how to do this with LR?
Thanks for the question. Unfortunately, at this point in time I do not recommend you use either version of Lightroom to embed your metadata for Adobe Stock submissions. I communicate with the LR team the need, every chance I get in hopes that someday we can provide an option to stop alphabetizing keywords. For now, since they are alphabetized, you'll need to re-sort in the portal to move your most important keywords to the top of the list. My advice is to use Bridge for this service or to create CSV files with your metadata. -Mat Hayward

My question to you and anyone on this thread is this...Did you do anything different this past year to keep up with the evolving trends and to maintain a relevant portfolio?
Hi Mat,
I haven't done anything differently but still uploading quite actively. I deal exclusively with travel photography and don't complain about Adobe performance. Being able to maintain pre-covid levels on Adobe is impressive these days. This brings me to a follow-up question. What in general can be done differently in travel photography niche that can make it more relevant to today's demand and trends? (besides doing covid-related travel images). Here is my port for reference https://tinyurl.com/3krwjk62
Elijah
I think that will depend on where you are traveling. My first thought is if you can capture in your content how various locations are re-opening. Safety measures in the travel process such as airports and train stations. "Welcome Back" signs with travel locations in the background, etc. There are opportunities, you just need to figure out what they are before your competition does. What are you seeing differently in travel. Stock is really about capturing real life as it is. Since travel will undoubtedly look different when it resumes on a larger scale, there will be content gaps available for you to fill. Be observant when you are out and about and translate what you see with your camera. I really appreciate the dialogue in this thread. I genuinely understand why some of you are discouraged. The reality is that the market has evolved and the industry has changed both for customers and contributors. If you intend to find success shooting stock, you need to be ready, willing and able to adapt as the changes happen. Don't make excuses and do not allow defeat. Be versatile, continue to learn and invest in your personal growth as a creative. Take a look at the content you were creating 10 years ago. If you don't see a noticeable difference in quality and subject matter from then until now, you have been missing out. I guarantee you have opportunities for growth. I know I do. Heck, WE ALL DO! Set a personal goal to learn something new and try something different with your camera every month. Challenge yourself to diversify your portfolio. Who knows? You may just find what you've been missing even if you didn't realize it wasn't there to begin with. -Mat Hayward

different this past year to keep up DEAR MAT, MY QUESTION TO YOU IS:
What costs do YOU calculate for this kind of content, lets say a conceptual work with 3 to 10 models, clothing, background and location?
thank you
I typically pay $50 per hour for models with a minimum of 2 hours per shoot. If they are very experienced and have a unique look I really want to work with, I'll pay up to $100 per hour. I have models bring their own wardrobe after asking me to send photos of options prior to the shoot. I've only paid for a location once, usually I work in places free to me. It's very rare for me to use more than 2 models on one shoot specific for stock that I am personally financing. I'm typically all-in for a cost of between $200-$300 for a formal stock shoot.
-Mat
How long will it take you recoup that money Mat (assuming you will) and go into profit?
It varies completely. Sometimes a couple of weeks, sometimes months, sometimes years. I can't think of a shoot that I haven't recovered my initial investment. I'm at a place in my portfolio where my archived content can fund new shoots which is nice. When you are first starting out, that's not as easy of course. When I shoot specifically for stock as opposed to captured stock secondary to either a personal shoot or an editorial assignment, I find consistent results that justify the expense. -Mat
