During the years all big agencies gone down except SS. In the last few month SS is also falling badly. October was my worst month of the last 5 years while october is usually the strongest month of the year. Last week sales were down to 50% of the usual. WHAT THE ..... IS HAPPENING? I am getting worried.
Better cca 13% compare to October 2014

I did it! I pulled all of my ports. No complaining about getting screwed over by these thieves. I will not be give my work out for free (that's sure how it feels) any longer.
I wish many others will follow you.
Me too. Less competition is always good.
Hmm, dear Dumc I sold last month only one image for $1,000 how many times I must sold this image on SS or any other micro stock pages? If is for $0.35 it is over 2, 850 times, hahahahaha enjoy less competition and support rich people in luxury Manhattan offices ;( ;( I do not think you have lunch, drink, fun time, gym, snack, coffee and many others extras for free in photographers position ;( ...or maybe???...... ....good luck anyway

Im looking to possibly approach real estate companies and property management companies to offer high quality photographs and sweeping videos of their rentals/sales. a lot of them already have photographers for these purposes but there is lots of varying quality. do you know how much one would charge for one session? ie, going to the house, taking about 6-8 shots?
it would be best if someone who actually does this, or knows of it could give me estimates as when i approach them i don't want to have no idea how much to ask for
I do not know where you are located but around 10 years ago I work with real estate company on east coat usa and price is $170 +tax for interior and exterior, no video. Sometimes for really special house little more. It is for really high end market , cheapest house is is around 1M and more, more.....No special lighting, , just one or sometimes 2 flashes, price and speed is the key for realtors, this people really do not want spent to much, but want made a lot

Pond5 is the best for me. SS are quite a way behind and the others I use only have the occasional sale.
You are lucky, I have last sale with Pond5in May 2014 ;( before with less images and video I sold more. SS, Video Block and Dissolve is much better for me.

It totally depends on what kind of product photography you are doing. But $1200 -$1500 USD per day is a good starting point if you are based in the USA.
Thanks Tinted Glasses, but I need ide for exclusivity only, not for job, job is already done.

I did product photography for customer an he want from me exclusivity for this product photography and do not want me resale this like royalty free. What you think is fair price? Per picture or ...any other idea. Or just let it go? More work will be done for him in future, I hope
Thanks

Hello!
I am new to microstock photography. After some research I have found that Shutterstock is the best place to be, but also the hardest website to get accepted to. I was wondering if people with some microstock experience could tell me if my photos are good enough to be accepted? If not, what should I improve upon? Thanks in advance!
Sorry but I think NO ;(

I'd suggest everyone speak to their own tax professional before making any decisions, but the advice I've received from my accountant has led me to ask for my Envato account to be closed. In short, my accountant had major concerns about two parts of the issue: Invoices being written in my name that othr people/companies could then claim as expenses to my business, and money I never received being reported to the IRS by Envato.
Even though I could show that the money that I ended up keeping was accurate, after the overpayment Envato reports minus the authors fees paid back to Envato, just the fact that there would be this big discrepancy in reporting would almost surely trigger an audit. And since I don't make enough with Envato to justify the time, hassle, and cost of going through an audit, I'm better off parting ways with them.
I can deal with the possibility of being audited. Being self-employed and getting paid the way we do, it's probably almost a certainty that it will happen someday. But I'm not going to let one company speed up the process of getting the IRS to come knocking just because they think they've found a new creative way to save money.
I've been on the fence with Envato for a while now. They don't pay particularly well and the prices they set on my images were often the lowest of any company I work with. This whole tax fiasco was just the last straw.
Good post. Thank you. I just wrote envato telling them I will be dropping them if they don't get this sorted. I make good money there. Will cost me average of $250/month to drop them, but this tax problem is a threat to my business.
And if I am correct it is different tax category for royalties and for other income

As a buyer, I like dollar amounts rather than credits. I like to know what I'm really spending.
I agree credit is just camuflage
