stopped as of today uploading to 123rf. Subscriptions are part of it, and sub sales volume incomparable to SS.  Still i decided to keep BS, and of course the big 5 SS, IS, DR, SX, FT.
after 3 months with microstocks i got it: upload to dozen of  sites only if you have thousands of images and helpers to upload. then even a crappy site will at least give a payout once a year.

I am thinking to stop uploading to other sites, and only keep SS, IS, StockXpert, DT and FT.
DT and FT  are still far ahead of 123rd, BS and smaller ones for me. FT is very active for me in January, a dl per day, much better than before.

I agree with lizafx.  that is how i feel SS works.

Software - General / Mask Pro 4 plugin
« on: January 11, 2008, 00:01 »
does it makes sense of buying Mask Pro 4 plugin if I have already have CS2 ?
does it really make quality selections easier ?

I am 100% in agreement with what sharpshot said in the last post. Most of us have nothing personal with StockXpert and want it to grow, not at our expense, though.

"With subscriptions, the smaller sites with much lower sales are giving us a similar commission to shutterstock.  This doesn't seem right."

that is why i am thinking of stopping uploading to 123rf. time of uploading to such sites is better spend taking additional pictures and sending them to big 5.

FT reviewing is ad hoc, no science or malice behind it.

No, I have sent to them 4 images of vegetable soup yesterday, all 4 were accepted.

I would have believed in subscription model, if prices were not  set to cheat the photographers.  $1-$2 per subscriptions dl would have made the list of opting out very short, but it will grow.

I am on FT 3 months. I wanted to stop uploading to them because of almost no sales and low
prices.  But this month there are  at least a 1-3 sales every day.

I am not yet in StockXpert. I will opt out, if admitted. But how to deal with DT or 123rf, these two
do not have the option to opt out.

Site Related / Re: StockXpert nightmare
« on: January 06, 2008, 14:04 »
I am not happy about StockXpert too. I have applied on 24 of December (3rd try). On 29th got message I need to send to them 5 more images (they could not decide on first 5) and that
they will be back in a few days. Not heard from them since. I got accepted everywhere except them.

add to it an extension tube and  you will get to things even more closer without the loss of image quality.

I looked in the control panel but I  did find how one can turn the referral option on. Can someone point me to ?

I have tried it. to paint over one still have to be very precise (manually) at the borders/edges.

I have just downloaded a free 14 day trial version. Well, it requires to use a brush, but I am not an artist. my drawing skill are bad, on the other had Penn tool is much easier since the cures are done
automatically and not by your hand. For artists, yes, Fluid Mask probably better, for others use Pen tool.
