close to 7K

quoting you again eheh where are the 500$ daily earnings??  ;D

You know luis, you seem to be a bit of a kid, mentally that is. How old are you??  teenage?  500 bucks a day makes 15K per month, yes? thats counting, micro, RF and RM, when I said close to 7K, I was only refering to micro and 2 RFs, NOT any RMs,

My RM business is a totally different thing and I cant count that simply because its my own RM outlet, with 2 employees as well. Been like that before you were born. Our RM agency has had a turnover past half a million dollars per annum, also before you were born but ofcourse, you wouldnt understand what Im talking about here, would you.

Do me a favour please. Dont quote me anymore, better still dont use the word quote as far as anybody is concerned, its childish.

GUILTY - read your post too quick, sorry
GUILTY - born in 84, sorry

iStock was down 35%, some of which is the June PP earnings that are still trickling in.

But these are May PP earnings. I wonder how many ppl is doing the calculation the way you do, in my view it's not correct. If you keep on doing that you'll be adding not 1 month old PP royalties, but 3+ to the previous month's earnings, the way things are going over there :D

no no sales that are entering now are June :)

BME getting very close to the 1k $

- SS 55% (3251 pics)
- IS 12% (925 pics)
- 123RF 10% (3835 pics)
- FT 7% (3033 pics)
- DT 5% (2089 pics)

around 10% from other agencies (which remain quite low)

5433
Positive for IS:
- my income increases about 35% each month
- my approvals are about 85% (could be higher but I've been pushing their limits)
- most images get approved in three days.

I have been at other sites but the subscription thing is a joke. Well for me.

I am OK with iStock (gasp) Now, who wants some cheese and crackers?

how many months??  ;D

Photo Critique / Re: New to this - need critique

Slovenian - she's just starting out and looking for a bit of advice to get going.  I just don't feel that's the stage to be smacking people over the head with the top 15 sellers at IS, as if they're all that counts.

If you work steadily and find your way, you can do well.  If you're defeated at the first hurdle by seemingly unobtainable goals, you'll give up and make zilch.  There are many good places to land between 'zilch' and 'multi-millionaire'.

nop, you need to understand there are some folks that only do and sell best sellers, right from the start  ;D

I doubt it very much... All the success stories we hear from musicians, footballers, artists are the same. Lots of hard work is required to perfect something. Why would taking photographs be any different??

just in case you havent understood, I was being sarcastic :)

Hi,

long time IS exclusive here. My girl wants to get her feet wet in microstock and she'd like to create FT account. I remember from my independent days that it used to make more sense to register on Fotolia EU than Fotolia US because credit prices in EUR were higher. Is that still true today? Should she choose Fotolia US because all other agencies pay in USD or is there a financial incentive to go with Fotolia EU?

If that matters, we live in EU but do not use EUR in this particular country, so no matter what currency we are paid in, it must be converted to local currency one way or the other.

Thanks

yes still true...  :-\

where do you live? check what will be more profitable for you :)

every agency has flaws, even SS.. which have been having a lot these latest months, mainly regarding new approved pictures not showing up (like 3 times this month) which is not helping on sales and getting pics buried fast..

IS has a big flaw for a long time which is the PP, a lot of people are against it and so on (thats their own business) but I am in since the start, and still havent all my portfolio migrated and worst the payment is taking longer and longer each month..

apart from this I am having better and better months at IS (nothing significant but surely not bad for my current earnings..)

5438
sure! and change p+ too after (one or two more IS moves, no prob!)

5439
I'm fully aware that other agencies did have some price-updating too but not on the same level and they only followed iStock in this regard, Dreamstime and Fotolia don't  have balls at all!

not a contributor with many sales but DT seem nice when there are some high level downloads.. of course they dont sell like IS but in the long run seem good.. at least regardind RPD are the closest to IS

p.s: not happy with IS or DT :P

5440
At least I can opt out of Thinkstock if I want to.

not following you actually.. non-exclusives can opt out too

5441
had a good month there but it is always going up and down.. I have been uploading for a "long time", they are far from dropping to 3rd place so there is still hope, I am talking on around 100$ per month so not a very valuable statement

General Stock Discussion / Re: Closed to new contributors
« on: July 29, 2011, 14:13 »
that will never happen..

the only thing that may happen is the sctrict reviewing but I see a lot of crappy noise pictures getting approved everywhere and yes FT, DT, SS.. so they are still very gentle

5443
The entire thread is a bit silly; don't you think?  Why do you do this?

the problem aint the topic subject but the way this guy keep on trying to upset other and put other "in place" like if he is our father or somekind of king, really annoying actually..

Hi,
a little off topic, but since you guys are in the Partner program...

are your images displayed  with your "member name" or real name through the partner agencies???

no.. you can only see them using the search engine or 'your name'.. there is nothing telling who they "belong" to..

5446
Why should they/he bother explaining if Lobo has trained everyone and banned the rest to a degree that nobody even dares to ask. So if you look at it this way, IS contributors are the one who're pathetic (not IS) :o ;D

true, too bad they are still 1st or 2nd best earner agency for most contributors :)

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Editorial Propaganda...
« on: July 25, 2011, 21:18 »
I've just had a perfectly good editorial image rejected because I had the city and country in capitals (as Shutterstock requires) when iStock don't want capital letters...

You would have thought is would be easier for the reviewer to change them - it is only about 20 letters...

Steve

got the same last week but I have sent like 10 pictures :P I guess we should read before uploading :)

5448
I'm always vexed by the occasional rejection for "Limited Commercial Value". I just got this from Shutterstock on a isolated photo of a wooden spoon. Well, I'm a buyer as well as an contributor, and I was contracted to put together an illustration of an ice tea pitcher with a wooden spoon. The reason I submitted my spoon (which was accepted by the other top eight) was because the other choices were limited, poor, or at the wrong angle.

What a lot of reviewers don't realize, is how many ad agencies are looking for isolated everyday objects to drop into their photo illustration. How can any well photographed object be of "Limited Commercial Value"?

when I get some isolations rejected for LCV I kind of understand (more often these days) but if I were you I would be mad, your photo illustrations are amazing, they should give you more credit..

« on: July 25, 2011, 08:07 »
I really dont mind about discount if they keep on increasing my earnings month after month.. they are going over FT, IS, DT.. if they will continue like this they will be my 3rd agency.. they certainly have buyers so I have big hope on them, keep up the good work..

I am having close to 100 sales there per month

5450
quick question, what agency Laurin?
Sorry man.

no problem, I was thinking of that answer too but I had a long day today so I "decided" to get dumb, have a great week :)
