Overall BME (only by 1,5%), and BME for Shutterstock (17% up), Bigstock, 123rf and DP. I was really happy with this, until Leaf started talking about port growth. My port grew with 18% since Oct. 2011, and earnings by 10%, so thanks Leaf, you got me depressed again Istock is down again, but partner sales covered the loss, even with some growth. DST and FT are down 7% compared to Oct. 2011, but I'm not complaining, knowing that -7% is really good compared to others. Canstock and GLO are down more than 25%. Keeping my fingers crossed for November. I expected a bad start today, as it's a holiday in many countries, but at least it's doing better than a weekend.

My bug is gone now. The earnings are back in the top right corner, and the site does not ask for a new password any more Your bug seems different. I've always been able to login.

I reported this to Dreamstime, and they replied within 24 hours : it's a bug, and it's fixed now. Well yes, this morning I was not asked for a new password, but my earnings still don't show up in the top right corner. I can see them in "management area", so there's no real problem, but the bug is not completely fixed.

Thanks! This is what nslookup gives me : Non-authoritative answer: | Name:www.dreamstime.com | Address:50.23.192.92 |
and typing 50.23.192.92 in the browser also gives me Dreamstime, so things look pretty safe here. It's just the disappeared account info in the top right corner + the requested password change that's worrying me a bit ...

Yesterday when I visited my DST page, I got a page telling me to type in my old password and choose a new one. My password-vault software had already typed in the old one, but I got suspicious and logged out, logged in again and then changed my password. This morning, I got the same situation again : no problem logging in (with the new pw), but then a page asking to change my password again, which I ignored. Then I noticed the info in the top right corner had disappeared (usually $ sales of the month, total sales all times, and number of images). I can still find this in my management area, so to be on the safe side, I requested payment, which worked fine.
Anyone else has had this experience? Hope it's a bug and not someone trying to hack my account ... (for your info : all my passwords on all accounts are different)

I'd say : remove signs that "look" like a logo, but leave all warnings that are just text, like "no smoking" on a fuel ship. I think these warnings add to the image.

On the contrary, I just had a batch of 20 approved in 5 hours (must say I uploaded them during Fotolia working hours) - except for 2 (still pending).

Anyka I'm european and emerald and mine dropped by 70%. My sales are also european working hours. Rarely sell much during the european night .
Wow 70% ! In that case I really don't know why my sales went down "only 18%" compared to the other Emeralds. I cannot see your portfolio, but I assume it's not totally US-oriented.

My Fotolia sales is down 15 to 18% compared to last year, but only in August, September and October. Before that, I still had monthly growth of about 5%. I am Emerald. So the theory of Emeralds being punished severely does not apply to me, unless you call 18% "severely" (and if you do, how would you call Lisa's -90%?). Of course, -18% does not make me happy, as Fotolia is my n2 seller!! I do notice that 90% of my Fotolia sales happen during my (European) working hours, so I suppose the main % of their buyers are European, and so am I.

Same here, you can show us the ads, as long as they are banners and not pop-ups

Ditto, the ads never bothered me, but this site is worth more than the subscription fee.

I don't count DP and GLO as I've been there only 1,5 years, but here's my growth table for the other sites for 2012 compared to 2011 YTD : DST -10% | FT -2% | BGS +2% | IS +9% | SS +10% | CAN +27% | 132RF +42% |
Image port growth was about 18% from Oct 2011 till today. Must say that I'm surprised to see the 10% for SS, as the number of downloads is steadily going down there.

Wow, look at Depositphotos moving up! Well, they were my only site with a BME this month, so they deserve to move up. My big 3 (SS-FT-DS) went down with more than 10% compared to last year September. Istock went up, but only because of the partner program downloads. ALL smaller sites went up and covered a lot of the loss. However, in September 2011 SS gave me 14 EL's (!), and this September 5. Just keeping my fingers crossed for October.

The Sasquatch: A rare image that nobody else has taken (or submitted). In my case it would be a Llama doing a cow.
Then how should we call the opposite : the image that everybody has taken, like the handshakes, the woman-with-laptops, the apple-on-white ... ?

Great collection! I have another one : The Rotting Corpses : images of bad composition, low resolution and awful lighting that got approved in the early days and today, you're really ashamed they are part of your portfolio. They stay in the database because you have better things to do than clean up your files at 10 agencies. Once in a while they sell, and you really don't understand there are buyers with such bad taste to pick that image among 20 million better ones.

There's a thread about it on their forum, with only 11 "same here" posts. I'll add mine, so that makes 12

+1 interested here. Never sold through my own site, so this might be something for me.

What really would be eco-friendly : a keyboard (or anything else elelectronic) that can be repaired when it breaks down (or when I spill my entire glass of apple-juice on it).

Same here : a US photographer uses one of my boudoir portraits to sell boudoir photography. It's on her home page. I can only say : if your "best photo" is not even your own photo, then your customers are going to be pretty disappointed ...

Are the speed dials coming back?
Yeah, I think I'll bring them back - at least in some form
Yes, I'd love some way to know if some one has a BIG or tiny port. In fact, I respect the fact that many people want to hide their identity, so if Leaf could find a way to show us three facts about a poster without giving away the identity, that would be great : (1) Size of port, (2) Microstocker since 20.., and (3) Photo/Vector/Footage/Sound. This I find much more interesting than the number of posts he/she made. Of course, a link to a portfolio would be even better, but many of us don't like that. (by the way Leaf, I put my Shutterstock login name in my profile, but the SS icon does not seem to show up under my posts?)

August was bad for the Big sites and very good for the small ones :
Compaired to August 2011 : SS : -8% IS -25% (but still expecting partners sales) DST -9% FT -17% BIG -30% CAN -31% GLO +250% 123rf +57% DP +150%
Canstock was a BME until yesterday they cancelled 3 EL's without notification at all, so now I'm at -31% compared to 2011.
Istock is down, but I have noticed that partner sales is growing very fast. In July, partner sales were 33% of total Istock sales, so if that trend stays, Istock will be up instead of down.
Fotolia went down for the first time in 2012. Rodeo and Alamy also had a good month.
Bottomline (and after the IS partner sales have come in), I'll probably have a status quo compared to August 2011. This is all in dollars - the Euro results are better of course this month.

I'm already getting used to the new lay-out and it's looking good, except that I miss seeing the name of the person who started a thread (the OP) in the list. Could that be made visible please? (talking about the recent discussions list, as I just noticed it's already visible in the Forum list).
You weren't the only one who missed that. I think I've got it cased now.
Super!! Thanks!!
