I started uploading mobile stockphoto's while commuting, or during bored moments at work. And, I was surprised that sales started flowing in! Not big sales, I won't be selling the 5D yet, or quitting my daytime job yet, but it's fun to see sales coming in. I'm using, in order of sales: Shutterstock Fotolia iStock Dreamstime 123RF Stockimo Twenty20 (no sales yet) Thinking of using Eyeem too...
Weird thing about DT: I have between 100 and 200 on each agency (except Twenty20). But DT used to be my bigtime winner in sales, so I put all my effort in that portfolio, and uploaded about 450 at them. Sales (and views) were coming in regularly (not enough, but fun). So I made an extra effort and pushed my portfolio above 500 (37 now). Since then (2 months now), no sales anymore, and almost no views. Anyone else noticed this strange kind of behavior? Luckily my iStock, FT and SS portfolios kicked off, so I put my effort there now.
Awesome stuff... What mobile are you using? I have a one plus 2 and am trying to figure out if it's me are the phone that's causing all the rejections

Sounds awesome, i hope we all get there in time. Sidenote, how many images are in your portfolio now?

Pond 5 has gone mad. Even with different upload batches they review them in one shot and end up rejecting 70% of the batch. This is when SS already has them selected and has already gotten me a few sales till then

Hello Zalee, I tried to Google your Xpiks ftp uploader but can't find it.
Hi HappyBunny, so sorry I didn't see this earlier. I just googled xpiks to find it: https://ribtoks.github.io/xpiks/ The maker is also a microstocker and he is very helpful if you have any problems. There is a forum to ask questions, there is also a thread on Shutterstock which he replies to. You might need a shutterstock account to access the thread: http://forums.submit.shutterstock.com/topic/77044-xpiks-open-source-software-for-microstocker/
This looks amazing, how does this compare to stocksubmitter? Can it submit images? Are the keywords amazingly better

The worst is the crazy amount of rejections after all this.

I'm sure the endgame for all of us is earning more. So even the agencies (greedy as they are) understand that some money can be made through less stringent checking. Good stuff OP keep us updated on what works and what does not

Relax people. Have to respect OP for learning something new, getting 2000 pics shot, keyworded, uploaded and accepted and then earning from them. I'm sure the quality and money will improve with time.

Yup, SS rejected a bunch of mobile photos from my last set due to quality issues. Istock, fotolia and 123rf seem to be more ok with them. Haven't had a sale yet though.

The best part is that they'll rationalize to themselves that many users did not leave, hence our decision was the right one.
What they don't realize is that many of the best closed their account and the rest will now think a lot before they upload. They moved from being the agency that everyone supported to the one that people now hate

Let me give this pro res also a shot. Trying to get my head around this container and codec stuff. And seeing how each compares with the next

Guess will need to read about this a bit more. Just need a small enough size so that the uploading does not take forever

Let me give this a shot. H264 usually gave me 200Mb+ files for 15 sec 4k clips

Cool, so which of these results in small files? And what codec will allow me upload to SS, Videoblocks, fotolia and any other good ones.

If you do the right click and search in istock it works. But it seems that you can't do this in SS. any help here?

Wow, you are doing good stuff. Have been on and off on SS for a year now. 200 images netting me $1-2 a day on good days

The issue is that many allow the mp4 encoding which gives me much smaller files. But videoblocks demands an h264 encoding and it file size with that is huge. I'm using movie editor pro and still trying to figure the best codec

Same here, pond5 seems to reject stuff that sells well everywhere else. Plus slow approval means i already have some sales before it actually makes it to the review on pond 5

Don't jinx them What we need now is for them to start editorial

Very well put. Deposit photos is also one of those oft hated sites that seems to have improved itself. As you said hope the same for all, it is much needed

I've been trying out Magix movie edit pro for some time. Looks like a good enough software with all the basic features
