I dont believe buyers will complain about the amount of results for their search, if I was a buyer I would look at most popular or newest to get fresh content, if there are hundreds and hundreds better.. SS is a subscription agency where a buyer can get 25 pics per day, if they miss a few no problem they have plenty more slots to download.. I really think they should clean their collection instead of these weirds rejections for pictures well produced..
and the true is that there are two types of reviewers, the ones that approved all pictures done in perfection.. and other that go to low commercial value or other reason when they feel they arent worth to SS which aint wrong, the only problem is the favoritism of some that I guess have "quick" reviews (not talking about top contributos but some that I keep track) and some of that were just as good as a "lower" contributor that might have less files online or sales.. but I dont believe they have a perfomance feature next to contributor during the reviewing... but who knows..

coming in here and and talking about how unoriginal MS is the dumbest thing in the world. The name of the game in Micros is volume business where pennies add up. To appeal to mass consumer market, you make it as generic as possible to attract the different buyers in different markets. stop hating and get a clue about how to be successful in this business
I am sure that isnt directed to me but I feel a lot of anger inside of you whats the problem?
Just keep reading what i wrote and maybe you will undertand. but i doubt it
thats polite, I will read all your posts and then we will talk

I've come to the conclusion that the rejection reasons given are irrelevant. It now seems to be up to reviewers to decide whether or not they feel the collection would benefit from having something. If they think so, it gets accepted, if not, they hit a random rejection button.
Of course, some rejections will be for the given reason, but once something is good enough in technical terms, it then runs into the "do we want it" layer of reviewing.
DT's "too many of the same thing" when you have three completely different views of a subject may be irritating (and stupid) but at least you know what is happening.
you have just missed the "favorites" because every agency has their HONEYS!

I had just 2 double digit sales days (instead of at least 4), so it shows. But yeah it was 4th of July and yanks do account for some sales (around a third in my case), they practically didn't buy anything from the 2nd to the 5th, so that's also partly the reason for lower sales. It's my first real summer, so I can't compare it to previous. So far the drop isn't that big, I had just over 100 DLs (20 or so short compared to the spring), but no ELs and fewer ODs, which really make the difference.
you use to have 4 digits days? thats 1k in a day? or are you counting cents??
I'll start writing in portuguese as well from now on just so u'll understand;)
OH man I "lost" this one I was thinking of $$ not sales my bad but if you want please talk in portuguese I am dumb dumb, you are saying you have days over 1000 sales?? (please speak in portuguese)

I am very close to the 1500 RC's which was the 16%.. so it means like more 35$ or such.. we will continue to receive on 16% for the rest of this year right?
The way I understood it was that you had to hit 1500 RC's during 2010 to get 16% in 2011. Going forward, if you hit the RC target for the next year (2012 in this case) during the current year (2011) you will immediately rise to that new level. Unfortunately they raised the 16% to 2000 RC's for 2012 so if I'm understanding this right, as soon as you hit 2000 RC's in 2011 you've achieved the level from that point on, into and thru 2012. There will be new levels set for 2013 that you'll have to achieve in 2012.
NOP! that doesnt make any sense, the RC for 2011 were 1500 so if we got over we change to 16% and get this retro..

I have this one too, I am thinking they are selling the wall background not my bench with pillows but.. what do you guys think?
What are you concerned about here? Your image of the bench? That only requires a standard license and that's it. It's plain advertising and not reselling your image in a printed way or even digitally.
The background would be subject to copyright infringement if that seller ripped anyone's images.
thats what I was thinking too.. sorry to bother jeez

in my opinion I think that if children arent forced and like to all shooting etc I would say yes, they wont regret it later for sure, from 5 or 6 years (maybe less) they start "recording" what was for them a nice/pleasant experience and a bad one if thats the case.. I dont see a downside if they enjoy modelling and be part of mom/dad work once they will see their pictures on websites (even on agencies) and they will have their opinion, if positive its all good!

Hi All,
Everyone is holding strong with the exception of Istock which has now returned it's worst month in a row dropping further every month. They are the only site I am adding new images to and their sales are becoming my worst. All other agencies holding strong with no new uploads in years and I just past the mark of all my Microstock production costs at Shutterstock on its own this month. After three years my costs have been recouped by the one agency alone. Hats off to Shutterstock still top earner with no drop this year. I will be adding some TAC work this year I just have to find time to produce it. I still want to know what the returns are like there, some people I know are very happy with what they are seeing.
Best, Jonathan
Congrats Jonathan, on getting back your investment. The other sites are all gravy then
What's TAC?
you forgot? the agency collection right?
