 ::) What a pitty

Perhaps you already know that there is a "Faved" section where you can choose a 5% of your images as your favourite.
Dont leave this. Is important to get a good position.

I think it also "drag" similar no faved images in your portfolio to good position.
I made a search and 2 of my images where in the first page. One was faved and the other was "not faved" and recently uploaded

last two batches results: 30 of 32 admitted, 10 out of 11 admitted. I do not know if is due to the complaint I sent to them about 7 out 8 images rejected. No response from support. Glad to be lucky 2 times out of 3 then.

Curious.

Let me tell you a short history:

I sent my first 10 images batch. Rejected.

Next month I took the approved images, re-sended them with a new ones. They approved the news ones and rejected the others (approved in the first batch)

Next month I took the last batch approved images and re-sended with a new ones. New images approved, old images (approved in the past) rejected.

It was enough for me. This people are making fun of me, this is the last time I submit to SS. And so I wrote in the "note for reviewers" square.
I took 10 images that had been approved at least 1 time in the past and submited them...

Approved...

That is the way they test us...

I have almost finished uploading to StockXpert, so I am thinking about trying on 123rf, so any information you ask, is good for me too.

Is it worth to try ar 123rf? Can you earn at least 50$ with 2500 images portfolio?

StockXpert proved to be worth the effort, but what about 123rf?

Chode. Dont think about it. Make it.
I have 450 images and it is my 4th in earnings ranking
They made me a payment in Jan and Im reaching the second.

I like to think that thanks to that nasty site I found the good ones.
It served me as a lesson for joining in risky adventures.
Fortunatelly, almost all my uploaded photos were old nasty snapshots  ;D

That site was my first contact with microstock world.
Novice error  :-[
Very bad experience to start with.
I uploaded 5 "serious" photos to see what happen but something smelled bad (most popular photos, support...)
Then I started to upload horrible snapshots to see if they say something. Nothing, all approved.
I gave up with 58 usd.

The worst thing is that you cant delete the images.

You have my support.

I used to use Smart FTP too but started having problems. Fire FTP plugin as mentioned above is great. Works right out of the Firefox browser.

I have installed fireftp to try it. Is there the possibility to see thumbnails in your local folder? Its important for me because all my file names are similar

Last day I logged in I found a mid-grey corrupted image in the list of images in the front page.
Not a very professional site I think...

Software - General / Wich FTP client?
« on: March 25, 2008, 18:59 »
Hello.

What FTP program do you usually use?

I used to work with Smart FTP. You can put files in the queu for upload to multiple sites. Also you can see thumbnails in the folder to recognice quickly the images.
Its freeware
But the last time I have updated I noticed a problem when pausing and resuming hte uploads.

I havent tried Filezilla but it looks too simple.

Wich are your preferences?

De acuerdo con Diego  ;)

Forgeting image vortex (always 100% rejected  ??? ), my lowest ratio was IS and StockXpert but last batch I uploaded to StockXpert has been almost 90% approved.
What a surprise!!

589
Image Vortex makes istock look easy.

Agree. I gave up that extrange site.
I dont understand IV, my approval ratio was 0%.
I know Im not Iofoto but...  :-\

590
 :o Really?

The last batch I uploaded to LO I had an 100% acceptance

In Istock Im having an 20%

591
But if you make invoices you are probably putting VAT  on them.. but you should only be doing that if the stock sites are actually paying YOU VAT.

In Norway, we don't have VAT but something that is basically the same thing.  I only charge VAT to people who purchased thing from me in NORWAY.  If someone from Denmark purchases something from me there is not VAT on that item, he is supposed to pay VAT on that item when it enters Denmark.. (which the post office usually manages to get)

yeah... but anyhow I think it should be the microstock company which are charging and being concered with VAT.  We are just receiving a commission from our photos, not selling anything, so no VAT should be charged.

Exactly.

Im a freelance in Spain and it works like this:
I make an invoice for the work and VAT (other name here) is added to the total amount (+16%).
Then I pay that 16% VAT

Hello.
Greetings, this is my first post.

Wich is the site with the lowest acceptance ratio for you?

For me, IS is the lowest. I dont know why but I hardly get an image accepted on IS but they are approved without difficulties in other sites like SS, DT, FT, CT...

Any thoughts?
