SS has sets, only have 1 with 95 files ;D

not a millionaire, where I am at this point I cannot shoot models but I believe we all know how good people sell

you could have just answered the question: that set is of a male model. different story.

i reckon it should be banned, along with "cute".
how many times do you see "cute kid" and the kid most certainly is not generically "cute". i could say, as a mother, all kids are cute in some way, so it's redundant.

it's very frustrating to search for "girl" and the first page is full of "sexy" women. The keyword "girl" is also wrongly used. and the word "sexy" on some of those images is just wrong. "s7utty" "sleazy" "horny photographer" ::) may apply more.

why are the FAQs just rehashes of the info provided?

what happens after 12 months? is it like a gym membership, I get to lock in my price and stay on that plan month to month. they haven't thought that part through yet, I suspect.

You can purchase a single-app membership plan; however, it is more cost effective to purchase the Creative Cloud complete individual plan, which gives you access to our most popular desktop apps and services.
lol, well true, if you use the other stuff.
seriously, who writes this stuff??
they may finally sucker me into paying more to get Lightroom.

is this a concern?

The following Creative Cloud apps support Mac OS X v10.6.8 and later:

Extension Manager
Illustrator CC
InCopy CC
InDesign CC
Adobe Muse CC
Products not listed here are not supported on Mac OS X v10.6.
um, not seeing Photoshop on that list.

sorry guys but the OP sold that image as RF and now he get paid peanuts as he deserves.

if it was RM he could have got at least a few hundreds bucks, now he' done with maybe 2-3$.
but they buyers weren't shopping RM, were they?

what's scary is that this "new wave" of cheapo buyers may well have been a hollywood studio!

man or woman?

I see lots of male pics...

something must be up, i'm getting daily sales, which I never get.

I do work as a photographer as my main job, and I do lots of facial retouching as part of it.... I do stock as a byproduct of what I shoot for clients, and then in downtimes I try to set up shoots specifically for stock. It doesn't return as much for me yet but I am addicted to it.  I work every day either shooting or editing. I'm also professionally trained in both photography and photoshop.

Sean may not have the time, nor be willing to share any of his retouching skills, and I wanted to offer some help to the OP by saying retouching faces/bodies doesn't have to take that much time. And I did that with a demonstration of what that meant. One of the more helpful things our teacher did for us was to set up a 5min timer and force us to edit fast.

I can (and do) have plenty of life skills outside of this forum group. I also don't hide my work and endeavour to post honestly and helpfully.

edit: must I also add   ;) to show I'm really a nice person?

I came here to ask for some guidance and got a little bit, but it was mixed in with ridicule.

yeah, that tends to happen here. sorry.

i prefer the one email for the batch system, like SS do, with the pic and it's easy to see. iS has too many emails and too much info - it's all just a canned response anyway, so it's not helpful.

123 is a mystery when things get approved, and there's no reason why? and some of it still through as editorial?

well I guess it depends on how unique this corn image is, and how easily could it be found elsewhere for cheaper?

if you were a nikon shooter then your good lenses will stlll fit onto DSLR bodies.

589
yikes! good luck with this.
I think a very calm letter of enquiry to the production company of the movie is your first step.
although the idea of print runs with regard to movie posters is becoming obsolete?

I'm still struggling to understand how you think FOAP is good and 123 is "worst ever"  :o

somewhere between $200 and $999? depends on how unique it is, and how much they want it, how awesome the image is for your port. but really, I'd find some amount you are happy with and sell.

i'm still trying to work out what their "flavour" is. I don't do flowers, and only a bit of fruit every now and then (only if I'm shooting it for a client). did someone once say they don't like travel/landscapes?
they don't like backgrounds either (overfull category perhaps?)
my health/beauty stuff seems to be the only files that sell well.

You never know what is going to be the next hit in your portfolio. Some images I think are really good never sell. Its always the ones you like the least.

ain't that the truth! and the ones you painstakingly crafted go nowhere.
and then there are the few you shot randomly whilst out and about that sell all the time, but you only got the one good shot.

Thanks ShadySue, I'll give that a try! I really hate dealing with skin cos there's really no quick fix method that's why I rather outsource that portion.
I think it can be done quickly if you set up steps that you follow, and don't muck around. :)

a quick skin retouch:
remove blemishes/freckles/moles: up to 30 seconds
reduce under eye bags/dark area 20 seconds
reduce lines if needed, up to 20seconds
dodge/burn eyes and brows if needed, 20 seconds
run my skin softening action and paint in skin softening 1-3mins depending on how much.

you can chose to also:
brighten/saturate eye colour, 20 seconds
add shimmer to hair 20 seconds
of course there's a million more things you can do, but that's the trap.

I've made an action for my basic facial retouch with blank layers for these things, so i just go in and do what's needed on each layer. If you follow a routine it's quite fast.

BME. First time to clear over $1000.00. 516 files in portfolio.
I am shooting the wrong stuff.

DITTO Poncke! In total agreement!  ;)

I don't think it's the stuff he shoots but how he shoots it - have you taken a look at rimglow's portfolio?  Very simple isolations but beautifully executed - I'm not surprised he has such a high return.  Wish I knew how to make isolations like those - they are amazing.
so true, they have an illustration/photo feel, just beautiful.

May 1 is a major holiday in most of the world.
Really?
Not, as far as I can make out, in any of the 'main markets' for stock, other than France and Germany.
(Many countries, like the UK, shift the May Day holiday to the first Monday of May.)
That said, I'm sitting on nada today on iS.
I did wonder about that "most" comment. Although Australia is small fry, we moved our Labor Day holiday to October. We're still working!

no it wasn't there. might be cos I use the optimize function in DeepMeta which drops out lots of keywords. i've added it in and it shows up. :)

123 has a "convert balance to credits" link. I don't want to click it in case it actually does that without making me confirm again. (not being a fanboy, I was just in there today doing EOM stuff for my spreadsheet and I saw it)
