I made a payout there last month (after many months with images online) and after that I got absolutely no sales at all. I don't know what they're doing. Everybody had expectations from them, but after a year since they launched, it's no better than it was in day one. Agreed, Stockxpert was something brilliant and even more when they partnered with Photos.com, but those days are long gone. I don't think they're going to make it, to be even remotely significant in terms of revenue except perhaps for very few contributors (Yuri & alike). I am stopping uploads until I see some action, like sales on a regular basis.
I dontt agree just on the fact of stop uploading there, they pay a 50% comission, if we dont contribute there we will never change the way stock is heading.. I am sure they will make a lot more advertising on future, we need to support these FAIR agencies

I'm keeping pretty much everything at the base 10% rate until I get a few sales.
not a zazzle fan but 10% is just insane.. IS pays 15%

Although Shutterstock has the lowest download average, it has the highest volume for me. And the majority of my photograph downloads (as opposed to video downloads) are 33 cents. (I wish it were the 55 cents that Lightscribe indicated.) Nevertheless, even though Dreamstime is at the top of the list of average commission per photo, I see daily sales at Shutterstock, but I'm lucky if I get a sale per week at Dreamstime. The bottom line is that I make more money by far on Shutterstock because of volume. The exception, of course, is Alamy. I've had one sale at Alamy, for which I received a commission of $40. It would take 121 sales at 33 cents each on Shutterstock to do that. But I can count on regular activity at Shutterstock.
I sell videos on IS, but I'm not uploading any new material there. I haven't been accepted as an IS photographer, and still haven't decided if I want to pursue it or not. I hate their keywording system.
DUDE thats way OT

The problem is, most realize, or think, that such an alliance really would have no "power". It isn't like a union where stopping work for a few days accomplishes something. The stuff is still there to sell.
I agree but there might be some positive things we could do to promote sites that pay a fair commission and have good prices for buyers. I know that might not interest istock exclusives.
I think the best thing we can do is start a huge agency ourselves where we the Contributors are the shareholders and pay good commissions like 70 % We have enough people among us with all sorts of qualities and expertise to make this work. Then we the contributors are in control.
once again that talk, nobody was interested and it was needed like 1 Million, not gotta happen

yes that might be the solution.. on top agencies which arent fair? IS, Fotolia? Dreamstime maybe not because of their levels system (but I do have tons of subs..) top contributors are the most important guys in this industry.. if they dont do anything there is no need of "us" to do or it will only help their income.. Fotolia wasnt as greedy as IS.. at least from emerald and up royalties werent cut.. how many are there? Fotolia went from 30% to 20% in two years, cant wait for 2012

you are going a little OT eheh
so do you believe if the top 25 stop uploading they would increase our royalties? do you really think IS need more pictures? I dont believe an agency need more pictures but they keep on approving and we keep on doing them, some pretty like they are already online, some quite different but overall I dont believe it is changing the "collection" that agencies have already, it is actually just taking money from other contributors and perhaps we are collecting a little more entering slowwwwwly their "pictures".. stock is a weird business that seems that will need be "full", it is like a woman that is never satisfied but in the end keep on screwing us

Sean is right (again lol) we may want to have better royalties for our work but it is almost impossible to fight that.. they have the fork and the cheese (portuguese expression I guess) so not easy, it is just like other industry when there is a lot of supply and perhaps demand is not increasing on the same way but thats another question

^^^But you can get 50% with Dreamstime and Veer is stuck on 35% with relatively low sales. I don't mind 35% quite so much if they sell like the top 4 sites but unfortunately they don't and it's making me wonder if they are worth the effort.
true.. I remembered them because yesterday had a 3.5$ and a 5.25$.. I have kept the uploading there and will continue.. overall must be around 400$ but like 200$ from dash for cash.. they have just a little sales but better than canstock, bigstock and a lot of other too

How much do you guys price up your products by? I think I may be overpricing mine.
I have most at 30% time to time a sale.. I have spent there like 20hours tops

Veer with 35%
I would consider nothing below 50% as fair.
I have placed it only because the bottom one on the list is DT with 30%.. actually 25% on level 0

Now, whether we speculate or not or do our own statistics or not, we all end up uploading our stuff to as many agencies as possible to squeeze out the most money we can get, don't we?
it will only go up and up.. I dont think exclusives will be exclusives forever..

sorry for the question but do you think that BigStock gives priority to older files? I have been with them for a little over 2 years and my earnings there are incredible ridiculous
Luis ... I do think age is a large consideration in search result placement ... but not to the extreme. I've posted before that files seem to start selling after six month; or, more likely, nine months. Perhaps not an accurate assumption coming from my very small portfolio.
yep it is weird there.. they approved almost everything I have almost 4k pictures there.. but sales are just bad bad, dont understand why they keep low but heavily approving..

Panthermedia is not better than Crestock or YayMicro and could not even be mentioned in the same category as Bigstock (not to mention the "other" middle tier agencies). As a matter of fact I suspect that their sales are bumped up by false entries to get them into the middle tier. I am by no means a big seller, in fact quite small, but are doing much better at all those mentioned sites, while having zero sales for the past 3 months with Panther. Panther should be in its rightful position, below YayMicro. I have stopped uploading to them and yes, if you request removal of your images, they have a number of months (if I remember correctly, the contract states 3), before they will remove them. Not worth the trouble, even for small fry like me......
everybody have a different experience... panthermedia are my 6th best agency after 123RF yay I have like 5 sales for 2 years, crestock about 20.. panther more than 200 eur and yay and crestock less than 10

Anyone just get a reminder email about the targets that links to a page you can't access?
whoa.. and a lot more contributors posting on the forum thread that are pissed off. not sure if those posts will get to stay or go, but they are all upset. one ends their post with "shame on istock" .. I couldn't agree more.
weird! havent contributors settle down like Kelly said last month?
