I forwarded you the one I received. Thanks for checking, Mat.

Thanks for forwarding that email Jo Ann. I was able to confirm the email was sent by Adobe and is legitimate. The timing of the email when compared with activity (or inactivity) was due to a system migration that triggered the email alerts. Sorry about the confustion and thanks for the communication!

Hi Everyone,

A friendly reminder in case you have met the download requirement to qualify for the bonus program using old content, but you haven't submitted any new content in 2020, you will not be receiving a bonus code.

The bonus is only available for "active" contributors. To be considered active, you must have uploaded (and had approved) at least two files in 2020. You've got about a month left to make it happen so get busy!

In case you missed the link with details on the bonus program before, here you go: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/royalty-details.html

Cheers!

Hi Mat

I don't suppose you know what amount of cloud storage you get on the full package when you have 5000+ downloads. Is it 1TB?

I've been playing around with a combination of LR Cloud + LR classic as a replacement for C1 Pro but wondered how much space you get and whether it's possible to upgrade cloud storage.

The standard photography one I'm using (Adobe contributor bonus from 18 months ago) is 20gb, which is normal, but doesn't allow or provide the option to upgrade storage. Just wondered what the new ones will give and whether they're upgradable.

Just trying to plan ahead for the new year... cheers.

I don't know the answer to this question off the top of my head but I'll look into it and let you know. You are right, the Creative Cloud Photography plan includes 20GB of storage.

-Mat

I confirmed the storage that is included with the All Apps Creative Cloud bonus plan is 100GB.

I've not posted anything there since last May.
Obviously, it's a no-reply email so I can't just ask Adobe directly.
Anybody else?
Should I be suspicious?

Can you share with me what the email said? If you want to forward it to me via [email protected] I'll check with that team to confirm the validity for you.

Thanks,

For people shooting a mix of photos and vidoes how do i find these seperately so i can use the weighted sum to get my download count?

5000 downloads is steep, guess I've got my work cut out

5,000 is definitely an achievable goal but will take effort for sure. Unfortunately, there is no way to filter by asset type in the statistics at this time.

-Mat

Hi Mat, could the 5,000 amount be lowered due to the Covid crisis. Would be a nice parting 2020 gift for all us creators?

The 5,000 download requirement is for the All Apps plan. You only need 150 downloads or more in 2020 to receive the bonus code for a single app of your choice, or the Creative Cloud Photography plan (assuming you are an active contributor).

Happy Holidays!

It has to be said, Adobe Stock has demonstrated a very clear commitment to the relationship with, and welfare of, its content providers - something which is both refreshing and deeply heartening, especially during this horrendous year.

The rest of the microstock mega-marketplaces should take a good long look, in all honesty.

Personally, AS has provided some much needed light during these dark times and I'm especially grateful for the help and industry transparency Mat Hayward has given to these boards.

The artists on these forums are trying to make a living, dealing largely with impersonal corporate entities - many of which are taking our earnings and laughing all the way to the bank. Here's to direct and meaningful conversations with the people who ultimately make a difference to our livelihoods. This does not go unnoticed or unappreciated, Mat.

Well heck, that is extremely kind of you. Thanks for that Simon, you truly made my day.

are all religions underrepresented?

Yes, all religions are underrepresented in stock imagery and mainstream media/advertising. There is a lack of contemporary, high quality, accurate, and engaging stock imagery depicting religious people, families, practices, rituals, objects, etc.

hi matt, only the content from selected artists will be available on the free collection??what about content submitted by artists that will not be selected for the fund??

Yes, content submitted by the contributors selected for the Artist Development Fund will be in the Free collection for the first year. If you are not receiving the Artist Development Fund, you can submit content that is relevant to the Advocates program creative briefs via the contributor portal.

Hi Everyone,

Last month we announced our plans for the Adobe Stock Advocates program and Artist Development Fund. I am pleased to share that we have now officially launched the program and are accepting applications. For information about the Adobe Stock Artist Development fund including how to apply, go here: https://stock.adobelanding.com/adobe-advocates/fund/

The Advocates Program is not only for those who will be selected to receive the Artist Development Fund but is open to all stock contributors. Everyone is invited to participate by creating inclusive content. As you likely know, content that features diversity and inclusivity is in high demand by stock customers and their audiences. We have shared creative briefs on the Advocates program website to provide you with inspiration for your projects. It doesnt need to be newly created content, if you have existing content on your hard-drive that fits our creative briefs we encourage you to submit it.

It is our goal to be leaders of positive change in stock by encouraging and supporting the production of high quality, inclusive content and we hope you will support and participate in this important endeavor. For information on the Advocates program including the eight creative briefs, go here: https://stock.adobelanding.com/adobe-advocates/

We've put together a detailed FAQ which should cover your questions: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/adobe-stock-advocates-program-faq.html

If you have any questions we didn't answer in the FAQ, please let me know and I'll get back to you asap.

Thank you,

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock release UI improvement
« on: November 12, 2020, 16:32 »
As it has transformed into a wider discussion on UI and the usage of keywords - if we had simple statistics next to all the images, how many times our image has been viewed in the search results, it would give valuable feedback, whether certain images have not been found or have just not been chosen. This way people would know, whether it is the quality of the photo or the keywords that need to be improved.

So any time a logged-in client makes a search, all the photos in the pages he opens receive a new view in the counter.

When a contributor checks out the statistics of the unsuccessful images, he at least has the statistics on where the problem was. If an image has been viewed many times but never bought - it is clear that the problem is in the photo quality or irrelevant keywords. But if an image has never been viewed, the photo is either on a non popular topic or does not have the keywords people look for.

I can't find fault with anything you wrote. All duly noted.

I have not been informed of the expiration date for the bonus codes yet. This information will be provided when you receive the code. If your current plan is the exact same as the plan offered in the bonus, you should be able redeem the code and have the time added to the end of your existing subscription.

currently an open ticket of mine is without response for over a month and is the second time this is happening.

usually had a response at most in 3-4 working days.

how common are for you, long delays from adobe contributor support?

is there a way to inform adobe, regarding this problem with the contributors support?

We typically respond within 2 hours Mon-Fri Xronos. Send me an email and I'll look into this for you.

The free collection seems to be small. That's fine to me if it doesnt grow too much. Now please can you add a social media share button on images ?  ::)

Thanks for the feedback. Your suggestion has been duly noted.

Adobe Stock / Re: Introducing the free collection from Adobe Stock
« on: November 06, 2020, 12:49 »
- Connected to the above, the free section has content from Wavebreak media (~14,200 images in WavebreakMediaMicro and wavebreak3), Rawpixel.com (over 10,000), Wirestock (~5,300), Gstudio (~4,000), Jeremy Bishop (~4,000), Good Studio (~3,000), Artinspiring (~4,000), Caia Image (~4,000), Jacob Lund (~7,000), Visual Generation (~4,000) Hero Images (~7,000), Morgan (111). This is all high quality content, largely indistinguishable from the paid content.

I'm interested that are those very known microstock contributors paid to be included in the free collection? Or do they get even paid something for free downloads? As in general I think it would be very hard to get that much content from them to be offered for free and make a promise for possible better sales in somewhere future.

I understand the free concept very well. It has over two years that we made a customer survey which resulted that in Finland over 23% of the customers used primarily free image banks, over 57% used sometimes and only 20% said that they are not using free image banks. So in that light Stock agencies are in a real pressure for offering something free to get more visitors to their pages.

Yes, all contributors with content in the Free collection have been paid for their participation.

As it so easy to use one of your own sky images with the sky replacement feature, why spend any time (for stock uploads anyway) worrying about whether you can use the provided ones?

I was pleasantly surprised to see how well this tool works - I tried with an image that had lots of trees with bare branches to give it something to show how intricate details are handled.

It's particularly helpful that it provides results as a grouped set of masked adjustment layers, so you can refine further if you want to. Even if what you wanted was just to adjust colors and tones in the sky as shot (i.e. not replace the sky), this is an effective mask-creation tool to speed that up.

I totally agree Jo Ann. During my webinar with Scott Kelby last week we spoke about this. If you use the included skies, soon enough your images will start to look very much like many other images and you lose the value of being unique. This feature is much stronger if you are using your own content. I have been playing with this Sky Replacement quite a bit and I've found it to be very effective and so easy.

Scroll down to the section labeled Minimum subscription royalty amounts

Thanks Jo Ann.

I guess what threw my a little with this topic is there used to be a rank listed in your contributor account on Adobe Stock, right at the bottom, but it disappeared some time ago.

Mat - is there an easy way to see our 'rank' now?

No, my apologies for the confusion. It was a mistake to reference "Bronze." It's still an internal reference for this particular access point to submit Illustrative Editorial but for this post I should have simply stated that contributors with a lifetime download count of 100 or above are now qualified to submit illustrative editorial.

That said, if you go to the dashboard section of the contributor portal, click the 'Time Frame' dropdown menu in the upper left corner and select 'Lifetime,' you will see the accumulative total of downloads from your account.

The old rank system used to be the following...

0-99: White Rank
100-999: Bronze Rank
1,000-9,999: Silver Rank
10,000-24,999: Gold Rank
25,000-99,999: Emerald Rank
100,000-249,999: Sapphire Rank
250,000-999,999: Ruby Rank
1,000,000 +: Diamond Rank

I may be forgetting something, but beyond this access trigger for Illustrative Editorial, those ranks are obsolete now. There are 3 primary unnamed ranks that impact contributors.

0-999 downloads result in a minimum subscription royalty of .33
1,000-9,999 downloads result in a minimum subscription royalty of .36
10,000+ downloads result in a minimum subscriptin royalty of .38

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Mat

618
There's still ranks??

Sort of...they really only impact the minimum payment rate on large subscriptions now, and we've condensed them to three primary tiers but the ranks still apply within our system so it's the easiest way for me to explain the criteria.

I'll re-word it here...Once you reach 100 sales in your account, you will be eligible to submit Illustrative Editorial content at Adobe Stock.

-Mat

619
Hi All,

A quick note informing you we have recently changed the requirements for Illustrative Editorial submissions to include contributors ranked bronze and above. To reach Bronze you must have at least 100 downloads in your account.

If you have not yet reached the rank of Bronze but you have an extensive Illustrative Editorial portfolio, you may submit a link for approval consideration through the contact us link found at the bottom of the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal.

Additional information can be found here: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/illustrative-editorial-content.html

Let me know if you have any questions,

Mat Hayward

620
On the plus side we can download the free images and if appropriate to your work, use part or all of the free image to form a composite new image and upload to sell back on Adobe etc

No, this is not allowed.

-Mat

621
I have another question. I want to bookmark My Statistics/Activity/Display Statistics so I could easily follow my recent earnings, but it doesn't work, it changes the period shown.

Correct. There are still a lot of opportunities for improvement here. We are aware.

Thank you for the feedback,

Mat

622
It is interessting to see the total earnings for an image
If i make a date selection of 5 years, the message appears that you can select only 13 months.
That was not the case before

Is there a another way to see the total earings per imagee?

No, unfortunately it's not possible at this time.

-Mat

623
I wonder how many people will take these free images the reupload them to this and other sites as their own to try to sell them.
This is going on at "another major agency" quite a bit at the moment.

What controls/checks are there the images and licences arent being misued?

Our license terms make it clear that this isn't allowed. If any contributor believes his content was misused and submitted by someone else we call out in our Contributor ToU, section 4 that we ask to notify us. https://wwwimages2.adobe.com/content/dam/cc/en/legal/servicetou/Adobe_Stock_Contributor_Agreement_Addl_Terms_en_US_20200416.pdf

thanks,

Mat

Adobe Stock / Re: Your account has been blocked?!
« on: October 20, 2020, 09:36 »
After only 4 hours I got a reply from AdobeStack (Mat) which unblocked my account and gave me some information about why the account was blocked.
(Which was obviously my fault, some videos which shouldn't have been uploaded to AdobeStock were uploaded by me... stupid I)

I am honestly very impressed by the speed of the work done by Adobe/Mat here!
Thumbs up for the speed and quality of work there :-)

Thanks!

You're welcome. Thank you for the full disclosure in this post.

This came up in my FB feed. I suppose this is from the paid collection.
Everything will be free soon or at least will be so cheap that you won't be able to make anything.
It seems the only option will be with curated sites where the images are selected.

Hi Mir,

That is different than what is being discussed in this thread. Since the beginning of Adobe Stock there has been a "first month free" promotion with the popular 10 download per month plan. To be clear, all of those downloads have resulted in a standard royalty paid to the contributor based on the paid price of the plan.
