Yes! Please address the review times. They are the longest of any of the big eight. What are your plans to improve this?

Page 11 is missing from my portfolio. It goes from 10 to 12. I notified them.
I did sell 2 images today. :)

Submit a polite ticket to Scout asking for more clarification on the rejection. They're pretty good at narrowing down the problem.

Shutterstock has been less than forthcoming on this matter. Although there have been several threads on their forums complaining about captcha, they have all been removed. A forum search about captcha crashes the site. (Proxy error) Obviously they don't want any discussion about it, no matter how civil.

Interesting that Dreamstime puts a heavy interest on Titles, whereas I've been told that Titles never show up in iStock searches. Only keywords show up there.

CanStockPhoto.com / Upload Link Broken
« on: March 15, 2011, 08:44 »
Haven't been able to upload via the HTML link since yesterday afternoon. Anybody else see this?

I hate it! To all who post that they don't mind it along as it keeps the site secure, I have to ask.
If it works so well at keeping a site secure, how come banking sites (like Chase) and PayPal don't use it? The answer is that there are better ways that don't irritate the user base. Somebody did a hell of a sales job on Shutterstock to get them to use this Draconian measure in the name of security.

It will go away one day in the name of progress. There will be a shake up to make the site more professional, and more in line with current security standards. Can't happen fast enough for me.

Newbie Discussion / Re: Improper image isolation

You don't understand. Link to a High resolution photo. The one you posted is way too small to tell anything about it.

You'll have to post a link to a hi-res sample, for us to give you any meaningful feedback.

Photoshop Discussion / Re: color cast questions
« on: February 23, 2011, 09:09 »
I prefer the first image with the sunset cast. The colors are much richer and vibrant. The second image looks like it was shot on a cloudy day.

The horizon is crooked. REEE-JECTION! Only professional photographs accepted. ;D

Pixmac / Re: Pixmac no longer a partner?

Okay. It seems I did contact you 2 years ago asking about why you had my portfolio.

Sorry for the bad vibe.

TO Zager:
I received the same email as stated in the original post. I sent you a private message with a copy, and my email address. I don't recall ever contacting your site.

The email starts off with "Recently you asked us why you have your images with Pixmac.com."

No, I didn't.  Never heard of them.  So the first thing out of their mouth is a lie. That makes a terrible first impression. Reminds me of robo calls in my voicemail that start off  "Sorry I haven't returned your call before now, about this great business opportunity...."

General Stock Discussion / Clipping Paths and Microstock
« on: January 11, 2011, 16:37 »
I include clipping paths with about 80% of my photo submissions. I also include that the photo is "isolated with a clipping path" in the title, and the description field.

I just got a note, from someone at Dreamstime, that clipping paths are only included in the largest size. That kind of makes my description misleading, and I intend to reword my descriptions to note that.

My question is what other sites (of the top eight) eliminate clipping paths for all but the largest size?

619
You may justify over filtering  all you like, but the bottom line is if the photo can't get past the inspectors, you can't sell it.

Your choice, keep the photo as it is and don't be surprised at rejections from harder inspectors, or change it. Play the game.

620
As far as my portfolio goes, iStock is the hardest to get into, and Shutterstock is the easiest.

621
My first impression was over saturated. That's not a green found anywhere in nature. Dial down the Saturation 15-20 clicks.

If it was accepted by 6 other sites, you failed to mention if iStock was one of them. They have the hardest inspectors of the top six.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Isolations and more isolations!

I'll do clipping paths for you, but not for .99. I would think a more reasonable price would be $10 per photo.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Shutterstock review
« on: November 24, 2010, 19:19 »
Wow! I can't believe someone has bad things to say about Shutterstock. I love them. Uploads are fast. Reviews are within hours. Hardly any rejections. (at least for me) My best seller, equaling iStock.

I average 12 sales a day on Shutterstock. What's not to love?  That's my review, for what it's worth.

Dreamstime.com / Dreamstime Keyword Problem?
« on: November 19, 2010, 11:07 »
I notice that Dreamstime's upload window has changed. On my last upload, my keyword metadata didn't carry over and I had to manually re-enter all my keywords. Loaded fine on all other sites.

Anyone else have this problem?
I'm on a Mac.
