A payout requested on September 10th would be processed on the 13th and paid on the 20th. Thanks! I realized that while I was at lunch. Re: my original post... You can't fix stupid!

Is it my imagination (and it could be) or did the cutoff for PayPal used to be on Monday? I requested a payout on the 10th and it's still pending...

^^ That may be true for you, but as an independent, I consistently earn more at Fotolia than iStock. It all depends on what you produce, I guess.

For me, it's more fundamental than respect, even. I JUST CAN'T TRUST THEM TO NOT SHAFT ME MORE IN THE FUTURE.
From what we've seen, any other changes that IS/Getty may make in the future won't be good for me!
No more uploads and come Jan 1st...

I'm having a great month (money-wise!) starting on the 7th at IS. I wonder if this is a result of buyers using up their credits so that they can stop using IS altogether. Any thoughts?

As far as FT selling things for the most possible, tell that to the tiered vector system that halved a lot of vector prices for contributors. But nobody cared about that because "it didn't affect them". While I agree that Fotolia (and everyone else!) makes mistakes, I'm fairly certain that none of the sites would ever do anything on purpose that they thought would hurt sales overall. Sometimes, stupid ideas look good on paper, I guess.

If the lack of transparency and communication really does annoy you then why did you bother with the PP at all? They never offered any transparency from the start and it was always known that any comm's would be indirect via the disinterested medium of Istock. You've got exactly what they promised and what you signed up for. I would guess that they bothered because it's extra income... Just a guess.

This whole thing stinks of another one of Fotolia's "favors" to us. Lots of people want to delete their files, so we are helping you out by lowering the price on them. Then, when they sell, you can go through manually and adjust the prices (If you remember). And for your convenience, it will all be automated, so you'll never know it's happening.
Can I opt out of this now or do I have to wait for more details? It seems to me that Fotolia (like any other site) wants our images to sell for the most money possible, because they get paid a PERCENTAGE. Why would they not want you to remember to increase your prices again? Would you rather they just delete files that haven't sold in a year?

I've uploaded some new files via FTP the same as always, but now, hours later, they are still not showing in the "Waiting to be submitted" area. Anyone else having trouble?

I recently upgraded from a Linksys by Cisco NAS200 (1.5TG) to a Buffalo Linkstation Pro Duo (2TB) and am absolutely amazed by the increase in speed. I got a ridiculous deal ($163 USD) on mine at eCost.com. I think that I may buy a second one because they're so cheap! The only thing is that it's a refurb, so it comes with no documentation, CD's, etc. I called Buffalo and they helped me set it up fairly quickly though. *edit for spelling

Lisa, how do you search your own portfolio? I can't seem to find a place to input the member name in their advanced search. Thanks!

I often wonder why business still accept checks. I also laugh when people are hesitant to give a credit card number but don't think twice about writing a check. With check-printing software that's available free, all someone needs is your account number and routing number (both printed on your check) to start printing check that draw on your bank account. Oh, well.

I was planning to start a thread asking if anyone else had a great day at DT today and then I saw this one. I was wondering if they did some sort of marketing push...

That's kind of what I thought. Thanks everyone for confirming for me. I'm not even sure which website of mine (I have several for web design, photography, etc.) they're referring to. Looks like this one goes in the trash!

Greetings! My name is Joe and my wife's name is Pamela, we live and work as wine sellers(wholesale/retail) in England and China and will be relocating to the State of New York, USA on the 12th of October,2010.
I came across your contact information on the internet after a search for a professional photographer and I hereby write to request if you will be available to offer 4hours of photographic services for the celebration of our 5th wedding anniversary on our arrival to the States. Myself,my wife,my lovely daughter-Debbie and about 12 family members and friends will be present.
Could you please provide answers to these questions if you are interested in this offer
1)Will you be available to provide this service on any date between October 15th and 20th? if so what precise date will be fine for you so as to include this in our plan? 2)What is your address location in New York so as to estimate how close you are to us ?
Should you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact me on my phone no: It lists a phone number and address in London. I am afraid to respond to the email if it is some kind of weird thing. Also the email was not addressed to me but had the same to and from addresses which immediately seems suspicious. Has anyone else gotten anything like this before? Does anyone know how I could verify the phone number or address in London to see if this is real or not?

When I look at my stats, I see 1 more sale than when viewing details. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I can't seem to find that other sale anywhere!
P.S. I've looked for multiple sales, prints, extended lic., royalty delay and so on and still can't find that other sale!

It seems to me that if a new agency (with a big enough wallet for advertising) came along and paid contributors for new and exclusive content with buyers needs in mind that they MIGHT have some small chance of success. They would have the advantage of forward-looking reviewers that can see the trends that buyers want and a tightly-edited collection.
The problem is getting contributors to submit exclusive images to an untried agency.
There's got to be an answer out there somewhere, but it will take someone smarter than me to come up with it!

One of the biggest gripes that designers have with microstock (as stated on forums for designers) is the lack of series.
It doesn't seem like it would take a rocket surgeon to visit designer forums and ask them what they would like to see in a microstock site. Perhaps if the sites worried about things like what designers want, we'd all make a bit more!

I haven't noticed anyone posting that TS earnings have been posted. It seems to take longer every month!
