nowadays, I also would not recommand photopin. I got sales report about 0,02 US-Dollar for one picture.
No, thanks.

curious, less than a month ago you were making 80 to 120.. cant see why that have changed..

6377
Sorry, I am confused Luis.  Did you get paid for November partner program sales yet?

like I said I got from PP but not from XP, which is owned by getty right? :)

Okay, by XP, you mean StockXpert, right?  Haven't seen that abbreviation before.  Thanks for clearing it up.

Out of curiosity, when did you get paid for PP?  Last I read, payment had still not been made.  Must have happened fairly recently?

lol dont know why but I called it XP but yeh StockXpert fits better :)

November PP sales were payed on the third week of December like usual (next month and the end..) Like they will this month, perhaps next week (for Dec sales)..

actually XP sales (Hemera at thinkstock) were never delayed used to be payed at the first week but they have some kind of problem, like lack of staff and dont care..

November royalties were payed.

FALSE! (only PP were payed, no sales from Hemera (XP))

I can tell sweetgirll that 30% of my income from IS is made there, dont think it is disturbing my regular IS (growing slowly, not this month..).. actually I am with 4 XS for less than 0.25$..

just had a XS sale for 0.12$ :)

overall apart from this topic.. where is the limit of "copying" other photog pictures? (talking LEGALLY, I guess pride etc doesnt matter on stock, maybe never will)

this is a question not some attack, I have no problem with others success

Thinkstock is an abomination that I hope and pray fails, and fails big time. If Thinkstock succeeds it will be yet another nail in the coffin of microstock. Do yourself and the microstock industry a big favor and delete all of your images from the site. If you continue to tolerate this type of treatment, you send Getty the message that it's OK, and things will just continue to get worse as time goes by.

Rather than answer the long rant from someone else about interest and our money, which is a pittance, I will make an effort to explain a couple of things.

When you sell a business the money owed is not considered assets, it doesn't help their position at all.

It's against the law to collect interest or invest money that is owed for commissions, so they make nothing on what they gold.

Anything that Getty is holding or not paying for a month, isn't doing them any good, in fact it's a liability. nIt's debt!

Maybe some other people think that this incompetence is a conspiracy, I think it's just a farce and having a lack of resources to handle the needs. Now there's a way to save money, low payroll, short staff.  ::)

and what a business :)

thanks marc..
im having hellva time understanding monitor calibration.
wondering if these shots, particularly the muffin shot, appears on the bright side..dark side or middle of the road

it has a little of everything but maybe a lot more on the left side because of the background, I would pull the exposure a little little up, the tea cup isnt far from some 255 highlights.. regarding wb I guess you are using some flash right? so bring it to around 5600k depending your equipment.. they look fine here, in my opinion the reviewer just didnt enjoy the picture and click any reason..

FORGET :P (dont know nothing)

Things should pick up from now on sales-wise and views-wise (this is already happening). First couple of week of January is always very slow.

checking last January I am already up but nothing special there once I was "really new" to stock, now I am just "new" so hope it will go up soon :)

I'm also waiting for a payment requested on 29th of December. I wrote them an email yesterday but so far they didn't bother to answer.
Next week is my birthday, I'm sure they want to surprise me and send me my money!

same day here, got a pretty good reply from them actualy, very polite and communicative (not usual) but nothing yet on paypal

Thanks to Jim for making it a guest post - and to Leaf for making that happen.

It says a couple of key things about how Daniel has achieved his sales volume, and talks about the exclusivity decision. Without the higher upload limits of an exclusive, Laflor could not have increased his portfolio as he did in 2010. I think an independent diamond gets 38 slots a week, and even at 100% approval rate that would net you slightly more than 1900 images in a year.

Certainly a partnership or some sort of sharing deal with another photographer to help keep expenses under control would be a big assist in making this profitable (versus just excellent revenue). Given iStock's exclusivity rules, it would seem that Yuri and Daniel's arrangement is just about the ideal - Daniel pushes the shutter button and he's the legal copyright holder. His images look very much like Yuri's, but as long as Yuri's OK with that, iStock has no say in having many "similars" out there on other stock sites.

Certainly all food for thought.

I was going to say about the same thing (ok not that well written) but you have pointed a few topics that I agree totally

How far will you allow them to screw you, perhaps they should lower it to 10 cents or just make them free since we are not getting paid anyway!

Well for many of us TS was already a step too far.  That's why so many people never opted in to it.

So what if you opt out of the PP at Istock?  Big loss.  Isn't it just TS and Photos.com?  What do you think you would be missing?

30% of my small income at IS is made there

I got an email today from Darek and he told me, maybe sometime next week.

Lets keep fingers cross.

LOL.. I guess IS is really losing the sense of business, they do this to their customers??

I keep questioning myself regarding big companies or whatever.. why the heck they are so incompetent.. if it was my business sure I would have fired all staff and bring some new blood or change all actually lol perhaps..

how is this possible.. more than 2 month to pay some cheap royalties??

thats why low corners will born everyday

6392
Weird..., this is happening to me too. I couldn't seem to access the upload anything since 3 days ago. It says "Sorry to inform that uploads will be temporarily stopped for 1 hour to facilitate a scheduled maintenance of our storage system."

I can upload via FTP, but couldn't access the upload page at all. Contacted support and still waiting an answer.

they are down since yesterday

It looks like some poor employee has to manually count every image sale, they do not trust computers anymore :-)

must be that.. I am really curious to see the results after that massive downloads..

I keep hearing all of the analysts saying having your own site is the way to go. "The future". I'm not buying it unless some new innovative method is developed for connecting buyers with contributors. In my experience, all of the people who have contacted me directly want freebies. Buyers use stock agencies. Freebie hunters use Flickr and Google. There are exceptions of course but it's rare. Every once in a while you hear about someone on Flickr making a sale.

Why would anyone want to do stock as a hobby? Flickr is a hobby. Stock is a business. But it seems to be turning into a "supplemental income" business. Commission cuts, competition, oversupply, economy, and hitting the growth wall all seem to be slamming contributors pretty hard right now.

If you build it, they will come. Kidding (sort of). If you have a site that has content and is relatively search engine friendly, people will find it. My site has only been open a few months, and guess who is leading the pack this month? ME!

I can't say this will last or improve or that other people will have the same results, but who knows. Especially, if you don't even make an effort. Do some research about SEO, web design, marketing etc. You don't have to be an expert, just motivated. Most of us know more about selling our work than any other agency does. Why? Because it is our work and we are actually paying attention to what sells and what doesn't. If I think 100 images of parrots in tuxedos are what people want, then I don't need rejections for "too many" parrots in tuxedos. I also have sold at many different price points, so I have some idea of what buyers want to buy my files for.

My quest isn't to become a multi-million dollar corporation. I just want to make a living off the work I do. If I have to do a little extra hard work now to make that more viable in the future, then I'm going to suck it up and do it. If nothing else, I can strive to have better customer support than istock, lately.  ;D

finally some optimism on this forum  ;D

thanks a lot for your inspirational speech!

Looks like with the new system I will miss out on 35% level by 155 credits or less than one fraudulent Vetta sale.  I have 36,845 credits or 99.581% of what I need to get to the next level.  This is outrageous that I will miss out on 16% of sales by .4% or again less than one fraudulent Vetta sale.

I would leave the crown thats for sure.. IS, IS, IS shame on you, money is never enough! I had 1403 credits :)

I understand.  I tend to be quite sparse and very specific in keywording, and possibly I miss out on some searches that I don't anticipate... and I think what you're saying is fine, as long as you don't end up being rejected on those keywords.  I'm just trying to help you understand the reason for your last rejection, so that you don't have the same problem in future.

as I said it was my first time (so I am doing very well), got some at IS but they tend to remove it for me

I actually think that having the more searched keywords is the most important, I try to research a lot before keywording and yes it is a lot of work but it is needed :)
