I remember reading the answer to this on one of the site forums (can't remember which) and the answer was that the person that owned the property at the time the photo was taken has to sign and that future owners have no rights at all to stop the photo being used or sold.

Off Topic / Re: Nasty Personal Email- Send Unknown

Sorry to hear that this has happened to you and even more so that they said personal things about your family which must have been hurtful.  Just ignore this childish behaviour. Nobody has the right to tell you how you should act.

General Stock Discussion / Re: GL New iStock? We Should
« on: January 18, 2013, 18:41 »
GL is by far the easiest place to upload to for model released images.  No attatching model releases, no catagories.  If the Iptc data is all there then you don't have to do anything at all after ftping them unless you want to change the prices.

How do they know which model release applies to each image? Does it need to be referenced in the IPTC data?
They don't, it's all down to trust.  Let's face how do any agency know if a release is forged or not.

FWIW I love the beautiful, simple, efficient Shutterstock Upload system.
I think that a lot of people that have only  ever uploaded to IS will get a pleasant surprise when they realize how easy it is to upload to most other sites.

123RF / Re: December payment
« on: January 18, 2013, 05:05 »
Here's something weird.  I have two PayPal accounts.  One is tied to my primary email address; the second is the one I use to get paid by stock agencies.  For some odd reason, my latest 123RF payment went to that first account, when for as long as I've been involved with stock it's always gone to my second.  Maybe 123RF used the wrong contact email this time.
It turns out that's exactly what happened to me but it's been sorted now.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: D-Day (Deactivation Day) on Istock - Feb 2
« on: January 16, 2013, 05:54 »
I don't know if this has been brought up or not but what if when we deactivate our images they then in retaliation decide to move them over to google from the partner programme in the 90 days that they still have the images there. Would they be able to do that legally?

I accidentally uploaded the middle one twice and the first time it was rejected as needing a property release and the second time as not being suitable.

Beautiful Images.  I could understan how they might want a property release for the boats but not for the trees!!!

Thanks all. It's now showing as being paid yesterday but no money has been paid into my paypal account.  It should be immediate with Paypal shouldn't it?

^^^Haven't they been accepting people photos for a few years now?

To be honest I didn't get past their application, which stated that as part of their upload terms DO NOT UPLOAD MODEL RELEASED PEOPLE IMAGES. So I just clicked "X" and took another swallow of beer.
I've been uploading model released images to them for some time now

Has anybody had the December payout yet?  It's usually paid on the 14th or 15th.

Thank you both but I don't seem to be having the same problem of either of you.   It's still not working but  I managed to upload though the site upload.

Adobe Stock / Re: Is FT rejecting everything?
« on: January 15, 2013, 10:11 »
I think a lot depends on the sort of images you upload.  I get virually 100% acceptance on people images but not so lucky if I try uploading anything else.

Is anybody having problems uploading to SS using ftp.   I am getting an error message as soon as I try to add files for uploading? All other sites are uploading ok

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Poll Percentages!?
« on: January 14, 2013, 05:31 »
No, I don't think so. Last month I made almost exactly the same at 123rf and Bigstock as I did at Istock (without the partner sales of course)   A year or 2 ago I would have said that it would have been impossible to make even 20% of my IS earnings at these 2 sites.  IS is now mid tier for me.

... but I know two guys with 12K images between them, they have been stung now third time in a row by the changes and they are pulling their ports and ciao bella.

No you don't. You've just made that story up haven't you? Same as most of your other posts. You're probably ahead of Stig Larsson as Sweden's most prolific writer of fiction.
Hahahahahahaha

I was lucky enough to keep the 50% and sales for me are getting better and better there.  They are now my 5th best earner.  This January's earnings are on line to double last January's.  Thank goodness as it is replacing some of the losses by IS and Fotolia.

HI, another new to the forum, but not to selling art and photography.

I think the best way to introduce myself is simply to show you these comics I did about growing up artistic, among the unimaginative.

Hmmm don't think that I will be going to any link that has 'pervert' in the url. !!

Is it only me? Whenever I try to scroll down that page, two annoying black things ('archive' and 'subscribe') cover the scroller and prevent me from accessing it.

Didn't happen to me.  Windows /firefox

I don't ever go to the  home page.  I have it bookmarked to the 'Show unread posts since last visit' that way I don't miss anything.
