Yes, Luis, but more current members reach exclusive eligibility every day, and fewer (percentage) of them are choosing to go exclusive than 2 months ago.  

ETA:  Who knows, this may be Getty's plan.  To discourage newer, lower canister people from ever going exclusive.  That way Istock gets their images and only pays out 15-19%...

Yes, the total number of exclusives has gone up, but the percentage of exclusive contributors has dropped from 18.04% to 16.68%. 

On a site as big as Istock, you would expect to see the numbers continue to rise.  But if the rate of growth has slowed, that is still a negative.

Ask the bean counters at Istock.  They used rate of growth as the reason to hose us out of our royalty percentages, so obviously it is an important statistic to them...

Interesting stats Luis.  They have lost around 1.5% of exclusives already.  Will be interesting to see what those stats look like come mid January or so.

that's not true Lisa.. there are 4k of new contributors, those couldn�t never be exclusive.. So the percentage couldn't increase., obvious went down

there must be a mistake on that picture, all pictures were reviewed time ago and contributors were notified that "isolated" keyword had been removed if there was a shadown in it

Plus the map is useless, unless of course I'm mistaken and:

Because I get a hell of a lot of sales from the middle of the South Atlantic ocean

I agree with your statement but actually every contributor have is own plan regarding expenses, earnings, whatever.. when we see something positive we gotta keep giving and working, not giving up just to let previous contributors happy or so, if agencies keep approving that's their own business, we cannot do nothing, I guess we could.. UPLOAD!

I won't stop just to let "previous/big/whatever" contributors stay happy!

10 millions is nice for DT, for buyers, too. But we are sellers, what is better for us - full market or empty? More files online - lower our chances to sell something. Why are you so happy?

how about this:

open an agency, could be perhaps fotolia, type a subject (people, isolation, travel, animals, whatever).. now look at that "stock photos", now do a few similar just for practicing, don't think I cannot do better than those just DO them (think as hobby), I can tell you that a big % of my work is worst.. with time you will do better for sure (composition, lighting, camera settings)

What can I tell you more? When I started (year and half ago..) I bought my first SLR without thinking of stock, it was an old dream of mine, always wanted to have something big LOL from which I would take awesome pictures (sometimes I feel I do) This means I have no background in photography, no books, no nothing.. Ok a few time reading here and there but I haven't got a single book, not saying this is a good thing, it just my way, keeping expenses low in all aspects

The main reason is that everything is possible, I won't be rich or be called stock photographer soon lol but I can still have a few sales around the world

I started at FT (it is a hard agency but got no "entry exam", upload, get rejections, improve and do it on your own, I just bumped into forums few time ago, guess that helped me out!)

I added some feedback and one question asked about the Acceptance Rate section, but I didn't even see that. Can someone point the way?

curious the totals are with taxes but on stats total is without them..
