It sounds like someone doesn't buy your image, but has Getty (presumably iStock) images relevant to the keywords they put in automatically displaying?  So I could interpret that as a way around buying a specific image (negative), or interpret it as the site wouldn't have purchased an image anyway so this virtually free commission isn't actually a payment (more neutral).
You can interpret it how you like! I have had a few reaching payments, but most don't net us anything, as they need to make at least a cent from one photo in a calendar month for us to get anything, it doesn't get carried forward or aggregated. In Feb my gross total for Connect was 5c, which Getty got to keep. Wonder how much they get altogether with us hardly getting a cent. So IMO it's disingenuous for Craig Peters to say, " Its a good thing for the business, for the copyright owners, and ultimately the photographers" - because what difference has it made to me that the pics weren't just stolen?

You don't really want to know the lowest commission on iStock :)

It is 0.01$

You triggered me to check again. Holy moly. I have some 0,00062$ (no typo) commissions.
Lots actually. Wasn't even aware.
And looking at my precious lowest commissions, all of them, without exception, are coming from territory California.
Guys! What's up there?
These are Getty Connect, which is a sort of pay-per-view scheme I can't get much info about. Best is to go to Contributor Community > Help > type Connect into the search box.

I have uncleared earnings since july 2019. I have already e-mailed them, but the reply seemed a bit annoyed, saying they are aware of this, and as soon as they receive the payment...  This was almost 2 months ago. Still nothing happened. :(
In a previous case my earnings were cleared after 1.5 years. Very disappointing.
As you say, the reply you get does sound 'a bit annoyed'. Also it tells you not to contact them again (or at least that used to be part of the message).
However, a couple of years ago I had many unreported usages of the same photo by the Mail Group (Daily Mail / Metro / This Is Money) and reported it, and got the annoyed/don't bother us again message.
So I left it for six months and re-reported it (luckily, I'd kept a form that I had taken a long time to make out listing all my found in-uses, which is required for their system) and got the answer that there had been a 'change of staff' and my report had gone missing.
Around six months later I contacted them again, and again got the 'change of staff' excuse, but a couple of months after that I got the payment.
So ... did the 'investigating unreported uses' team really have total restaffing twice in a year, despite us having to do all the looking up, screenshotting and reporting meaning all they had to do was match up the reported sales then bill the offenders?

Yes, I don't know if it can be done or not, that's what I'd like to know. It's 100 now, I'd like to make it higher so I don't get paid for the next few months.
 :)
I don't think it can be done; but in case I'm wrong, you'd need to contact them directly.

Any time I've seen threads about vectors at Alamy, it's your question and there have either been no answers or answers in the 'don't bother' category. Still, if you're sending them elsewhere, you might get the odd sale at Alamy for not much time wasted. Haven't seen one for a while, maybe over a year, so not easy to find, and things might have changed (hahaha, only saying that because 'who knows?', not because I think it will be better now).
Hint: try the search feature here on Vectors Alamy and Vector Alamy

What....no herd immunity?
He must have been trying to emulate the People's Princess, but at least Diana was making an informed point in showing that AIDS isn't passed on byholding hands. Not sure what his excuse was.

In November i had a Alamy sale, but my Cleare balance is not updated yet.

I wonder how long it will take
I usually prod them after the end of three full months after the sale, so if the sale was mid-Nov, I'd email them at the beginning of March. If it was a distributor sale, that takes longer.

Is DM working? I haven't been able to upload since last week.
I don't use it to upload, but its other functions seem to be working.

I think Alamy must reconsider their contributor's payment policy. The agency can wait for a lifetime to get paid by the buyers if that is what they want. But the agencie's money making machine (the CONTRIBUTORS),  must be paid regularly same way as with other major stock agencies. Alamy's payment policy is getting on my nerves. So Mr Alamy make up your mind: You either want my photos contribution or not. I you do want to have me as a contributor, then you have to change your policies and pay me FASTER.- I f you are listening let me know IN THIS forum.-
Dream on. Like iS with its tiny percentages for indies and SS with its 'all model pics may be sold for sensitive uses', Alamy has its policies. It's their ball, their game. We don't have to play, and they don't care.
Also for Alamy, giving buyers a credit line is a USP compared to the micros, and was standard in the macros, and for all I know still is.
Bear in mind too that we don't know what PA's intentions are.

However, I also posted a photo of a closed playground, stating it was closed due to COVID 19.  Despite the fact that, in the photograph, I included a sign stating the playground was closed due to COVID 19, I was told to remove all references to COVID 19 and coronavirus.
It's because iStock doesn't take 'hot news', to protect the Getty togs.
This has been the case for at least a couple of years.

At some point i rather wash stairs of buildings for 25/30 an hour.

I would happily wash stairs for 30 / hour!
It seems like an incredibly high wage for stair washing right enough.

Did they change editorial rules? For the first time I got random, seems to me, rejection related to street images in Covid-19 lockdown cities. Below given reasons:

++Please remove references to lockdowns or other current events. We cannot accept news/current events content in iStock's Creative Unreleased collection - such content will be rejected. Please edit your caption to simply describe literally what is seen in the image without reference to current events. Thank you.

++Uploads to the Creative or Creative Unreleased collection will be rejected if they are News, Sport, Entertainment or Event Coverage. If you wish to upload such images, you will first need to apply to Getty Images to become an Editorial contributor for that site. Please note that Editorial Photo contracts are generally only offered to working photo-journalists. More info here: https://contributors.gettyimages.com/workwithus/ArticleView.aspx?article_id=1105
It's been going on for a while. One could see it as protectionism for Getty's 'own' togs.

My sister manages a student hall of residence.
One of her German postgraduate students (not registered in any way as having special needs) shouted down from her third floor room to the handyman to tell, not ask, him to help her with a box. This would be well outside his remit in any case, but now he's just dealing with emergencies. In any case, all requests for his legitmate help have to be submitted via the office.
So he declined and she complained to my sister, who explained that it is not in his remit to do this, he is only attending emergencies, they were adhering to social distancing, referred to all the CV guidelines ...
So the student has taken her complaint right up the chain in the University, getting a similar answer every time, and has now posted on several German and international student sites complaining about the unhelpfulness of the university, and advising students never to apply there - and the Uni is already looking at a 58 million deficit due to Coronavirus.

in practice they are giving free our work...i think is better remove images, so not to hurt our sales on good site....the problem are people who won't remove their images even when rpd fall to 0,05 cent and they make 5 dollar every one hundred sales.
That's the same argument I used to say about SS etc. when iS was trying to raise prices, and people didn't like it.

what does that mean? "dis" and "$$" +50%? and "rpd"?
Downloads, dollars earned, 50% more, revenue per download.

So, compared to Jan 2020: dls +35%, $$ +50%
Compared to Feb 2019: dls +20%, $$ -21% (rpd -35%)
Still, better $$ than eight months of last year, and $$ +22% on Feb 2018.

I'm getting paper and electronic mails from travel companies encouraging me to book trips for 2021. These particular companies (that I've used before, one of which just confirmed my refund for a trip to Extremadura [next month] today) don't use stock photos, but presumably other companies are doing the same, and do.

I've just read the news that Donald Trump, the US president, tried to secure the exclusive for the coronavirus vaccine to the United States, making it unavailable to the rest of the world!  :o

The vaccine is being developed (soon to be tested in humans) by a German company, and after the refusal of the company to give the US the exclusive, Trump tried to buy the company.
How come is it that with each new bit of info which comes out about Trump, I still think, "this must be fake news".
I do apologise, it's only too real.

Quote
The German ministry of Health already commented on the issue declaring that when a vaccine is developed it will be for the whole world and that the company is safe.

This action by Trump, trying to prevent the world to access a cure securing it just for the US is beyond anything I thought possible and places Trump among the likes of Adolph Hitler.

I consider this an act of war and attempted genocide and I would completely support isolation and heavy sanctions against the US, while this monster, or another one like him elected by the Americans, is in office.
His followers will just say he's making good on his promise to keep America First (and to Hell with the rest of us).

You openly admitted that you had to lie and steal to cheat their system but it's still somehow Shutterstock's fault.
It's absolutely Shutterstock's fault to accept a site called Thiefy McThieferson supplied by someone using false credentials.
Hannafate was just exposing their failure to conduct due diligence procedures on a new supplier.

Also in lockdown in Spain, it's bonkers how serious it's suddenly got. No going out unless completely necessary.
Just got to sit it out and try to slow it down as much as poss for the health services to be able to cope. And put up with a bored teenager in house ::)
I hope UK closes schools etc down soon. In the beginning I thought they were right about waiting but now I think they need to and quickly.
I don't have the option of staying in, I share the care of my chairbound mother with my sister. I live c40 miles away (two trains and a bus in each direction), she lives c25 miles away. Although she has carers going in four times a day, we are really worried about what will happen if there's a lockdown - the carers don't do e.g. food shopping, washing (of which there is a full load, almost every day), emptying bins etc.
Of course, we don't want to catch the disease and spread it to her, or anyone else, during the incubation period, . Footbumps, no hugs, and blown kisses.

If they close down schools etc, who will look after the children of health / care workers? Some may live near family who are able and willing to help, some may not. So do they stay off their vital work to look after their kids, or informally make arrangements for them to be looked after in groups?
I'm glad I'm not making these decisions. I think there is a case for the concept of 'herd immunity' to prevent a major re-infection next winter, and for slowing down the virus so that the health services can cope with the most vulnerable. But there are so many factors to consider, and the scientists are still learning how this virus behaves. And I am not a scientist.
Sorry to hear your problems Sue. Give your mother a big wide smile from me the next time you see her and tell her she has hundreds of MSGers thinking of her :)

Thanks, it's not really a problem for me.  :) There must be thousands like my Mum who would be very seriously impacted in the event of a shutdown (and also she's be seriously impacted if she caught the virus, it's a real dilemma). It's just that when people say, 'we need a shutdown, think of the most vulnerable', they're not actually thinking about the needs of the most vulnerable.
