Yaymicro / Re: Yuri now at Yay« on: June 13, 2009, 07:51 »Oh c'mon sjocke jumps on any thread that presents itself to take a dig at Yuri, it's beyond obvious... Sorry, I met Yuri at ugcx. He's a nice guy. Although I might not particularly agree with his business model. 6829
Yaymicro / Re: Yuri now at Yay« on: June 12, 2009, 22:34 »Back to jslocke's comment, I don't think he was meaning to say anything bad about Yuri, but more that the only thing it added to Yay was just that, an endorsement with no blanket advantage to the general contributors. At least that how I interprete Sean's comment. It wasn't to slight Yuri . Yes, I don't particularly see it as anything that would draw people to the site. It isn't like you can't get the 20,000 images or whatever anywhere else. 6830

If the best they can do is advertise the now have more of what everyone has, well...

I have some PC RM images below if anyone cares to look:

Mostly I just upload when I get some free ones for selling. 6832

I almost don't get any threads onto my screen when loading. Yeah, twitter. I think in a year or two we'll look back and say "140 characters? What crackpot thought that all up?". "I'm at the movies" "I'm eating cheese" etc.... Hard to pick out the wheat from the chaff. 6835

No, it's pretty much a mishmash of hot shots and random stuff at this point. There's really neat stuff in there, and then some where you're like "what?".

My model has contacted me once again about her images being used in a derogatory manner. She has been on TV and is a very busy model being on commercials and ads. iStockPhoto.com / Re: What to do?« on: June 09, 2009, 21:50 »I think they started doing this recently - I had a couple accepted this way. Maybe they finally realized that rejecting for "wrong" keywords, was just a PITA for the submitter and it would be easier to just remove those keywords and accept the image. If it's just a few words, they will normally remove them and pass it on. 6842

The keywords were already removed when you get that notice.

Nothing personal. I just now understand how he can recommend uploading 100 a week and then trying to double that. You just walk faster

Ah, so you're just a walk about street shooter. Got it. I don't think you'll find huge success with that on the micros, especially as you don't have releases.

Why do all these old hippies need to be anonymous? What is it they fear?
Quote I produce 100 per week, every week. As the mico revenue has increased, I have increased output. Plan for the next six months, double that again. Are these 100 planned out and executed shots, or are you just walking around shooting anything that moves, like most of what is on Alamy? I can't imagine you are scheduling locations and models in foreign countries every 3 days. 6850
