I read that some microstock sites weight the first few keywords more importantly in buyer searches. Is this true for Shutterstock?
I never paid attention to this and use Aperture 3 for my metadata. I was not paying attention until I read this but Aperture rank orders the keywords by alphabetization. Even though I placed the most relevant key words first, this program shoved many of them to the end of this list.
If Shutterstock does this weighting is it possible to reorder some of my existing photos?
Fotolia does it with first 7 keywords being most important and if you forget some keywords...forget about going in and adding them after they've been approved. You can't do it.
you cannot add more but you can change their order

Did it occur to anybody that when you take over an existing port, you will have to re-upload all under your own account? That means 15 per week on IS and back to level 1 on DT. Let alone if they would re-accept all, since technical standards went up a lot the past 5 years. Prepare for some unpleasant surprises in earnings, compared to the current earnings of OP.
I believe 99% will be accepted, look at his/their portfolio

Here's an off-the-wall idea to see what the market value for your portfolio might be: Put it up for auction on eBay. You can even create a bit of a stir by starting the bidding at $0.99 with no minimum selling price.
Given that you'll be the very first person to ever do this, you'll be sure to get lots of publicity from the prominent blogs: Microsoft Diaries, Lookstat, PDN, Ellen Boughn, and Fast Media Magazine come immediately to mind. Go ahead, give it a try - you've got nothing to lose, and who knows, you might even find a buyer. And be sure to mention you got the idea on this forum if you do it!
I would go this way

I have just sent a email to 123RF.. will let you know how it went.. have around 90% approval but the lastest batch just 3 approved of 47! (lighting/composition) more confusing is that 40 accepted on SS and about 35 on FT

Hi guys! In August I have sent a email to Veer regarding the uploading system and so on and got the following which I would like to share You are limited to uploading 100 images per week. This number resets each week based on whatever day of the week you first signed up.

I have seen some positive changes since I started uploading a few exclusive images. That made me curious of there was special treatment for the higher canister levels ...

So you can you submit a 100 a week over 8 weeks = 800 images. To get the 400 images accepted so that you can grab the $1.40 per image prize you need an acceptance rate of 50%. Of the active contributors here, how many of you were exceeding 50% acceptance rates on an ongoing basis? Don't get me wrong, I think this is a good deal. I'm just wondering what the odds are of actually getting $1.40 per image accepted.
you can do it

Ok no problem!
DT changed their upload/submission.. Now they count to the DAILY upload also the submissions, if you have submitted 14 on a day, you can only upload 1 file..??
this is ridiculous no??
7000

So if I submit 100/wk starting today that means I can only upload 900 photos out of the 3000 I have. I guess I have a few hours work to choose the best 900 so that most can get accepted. If I can get 800 approved I'll be happy with the work/reward ratio. And hopefully sales kicking in the fall.
And what's up if the FTP? No worky...
Try to differ them in that batches... They don't like more than 2 from same subject ;-)
And... Be ready to have 30-70% of rejections too.
dont know if I cry or laugh
