Photoshop Tutorials / Re: Brush panel greyed out
« on: February 25, 2013, 14:37 »
I haven't installed a brush in a while - but with some programs you have to close and open the program again after installing new items (but I wouldn't think this would affect preexisting brushes?)

But at least there is some product in that price, or was $14 the markup?

Newbie Discussion / Re: Refusals must be costing DT money.
« on: February 22, 2013, 16:53 »
I was invited to (audit?) refusals and report any that I thought are unwarranted at a special link.  I like the offer, but I no longer upload similars and they have a pretty reasonable acceptance other than that.  The only rejection at the I have is a trademark (a red cross on a 4 year old's dance costume) which is accurate.  I don't really upload much to be useful in their survey, but appreciate that they are doing something on our behalf.

Off Topic / Iphone Luxi Lightmeter - Kickstarter Project
« on: February 21, 2013, 15:39 »
Although I do not use an Iphone I bet most of you do!  Check out this sweet little Kickstarter Project with a cool - AFFORDABLE - idea.  Without looking it up, I think a basic Sekonic light meter runs about $299 - $14 sounds pretty good if it works!

Didn't Sean setup a Ktools site (accordstock?) to link to his istock port?  He should just close that link asap and start his own agency.  Like you said.. people are waiting to follow him.  I'd follow him, esp if it damages Getty.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Deposit Photos- MR not staying Put

Yeah, I was sure that 120 releases that were already there had vanished till you pointed me the other box to click "yes".  Whew!

Modified to read that the box on the left is NOT the release manager - I thought all my releases had vanished but in the Manager tab you have to click on the releases you want to show in the other box.  It's a bit of a pain as it worked well before, you just typed in emi and Emily's release would come up.  There isn't even a check-all box in the manager so you have to go through one at a time.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: January PP's on the way.

Has your balance gone up?  The subs show up under January, not today so go back to Jan statistics.

General - Top Sites / Re: $0.25 versus $0.38
« on: February 16, 2013, 18:34 »
I have not seen much indication that Bigstock actually has customers.  If they don't have existing customers to sell subs to - where will they come from?

And, when I had a 6mp camera 25 cents wasn't a dirty deal.  New cameras nowadays start at 16 or 20mp don't they?

I guess I can't close the account until the 70 remaining photos come off thinkstock and photos.com.  Now have to wait until the middle of march if they actually get them removed before month end.

Better not be another massive round of clawbacks in the meantime.

Trust me... if I can build a WordPress site - YOU can too! ;D

Ahhh... so smart cc

So we see how important description really is....  in description only beats in-title and keywords!

(to be fair though, I am not sure if I was searching with default priority or if I had changed it to most/least downloaded....)

So... 112 pages of elephants on DT.  When I narrow search down to "sitting elephant"  why do I get weird results like this one... neither sitting nor elephant are even in the keywords?

There aren't a lot of weird things in the search - but enough to be annoying.

I think this deserves a Wooyay HOORAY!  Lookin slick!

Oh man, I'm sick.  Matt, Matt, Matt....

At least the blogger had some nice words about you.

General Stock Discussion / Re: StockXpert Closure Reason Getty??
« on: February 14, 2013, 15:09 »
Oh, I forgot... I was a little angry at the time deleted my StockXpert account!

Can't imagine why you would be angry, you're getting a whopping 25c now for each and every picture and use on TS now, surely that's better than the confusing variety of sales and licences on StockXpert. Number of sales, divided by four, equals turnover in dollars - blissful simplicity, isn't it ?  :o

Actually I am proud to report that I am (patiently?) waiting till about the 27th and I as long as they hold up their end of the 30 day deal I will no longer be supporting Thinkstock Photos.com or Getty in any way that I am currently aware of.

Like  true hypocrite I do sell a few subs at Canstock for 25 cents, but I sold a sub for $22 there recently too (yes I said sub, as it was recorded as a "distributor subscription).

General Stock Discussion / Re: StockXpert Closure Reason Getty??
« on: February 14, 2013, 13:42 »
But they were really swell about it and allowed SX contributors to keep their accounts open so Getty could funnel their content over to Thinkstock and photos.com. ???   That's the way Getty is... always thinking about the content producers.  Just think where we would be without those sub sites.

Oh, I forgot... I was a little angry at the time deleted my StockXpert account!

Maybe they work as reviewers, assistants, bloggers etc.

Was it footage targo?  Loooong cue for photos unless it was cleared overnight.

New stock images series. To be found somewhere other than iStockphoto/Getty . Soon.

Don't worry, you'll get there soon.  I hear they have a terrific marketing plan.   ;)

If you guys are really all so good why don't leave microstock and join Getty RF/RM or Corbis in droves ?

You might think we are talentless but I assure you we are not that stupid.

723
I see sub sales are live today.  Has anyone had any?

LOL, has anyone had any sales at all?   They've been more deadsville over here than ever lately.

Wonder if we will still have to wait a week for sub sales to clear?

What happened to Sean is messed up, but i feel the most sorry for is for the people that have to work in that environment that is Getty. Im sure some really hate their jobs or really have to detach themselves from work. And I wonder about the people stuck on istock knowing they work in this corporate environment when just a few years ago, it was a different vibe all together. ok Im going off topic now.

This is a quote about the Getty/Google deal on the photocamel forum.  Reinforces my instincts about them.

I must be tired to find this so amusing, but I checked out the Christmas Tree (6900 dls) they spoke of on FB by Silvanworks and IS suggests to also look at another one... when I clicked their suggestion it was no longer available for purchase!  ???  A D-day deactivation perhaps?   Haha, they've lost their bestest Christmas trees.
