@Peter

A lot of us (including myself) have been waiting since last June to be reviewed.  Is there a timeline (rough guesstimate) about when that process will start up again?

Thanks,

Anita

I uploaded first photos to GL today. Now they are all in queued items - if i understand right they are waiting for approval?

If it's in the Upload Queue area it'll move from there to Pending Approval and then get reviewed.

I too use irfanview for keywording and the only site I have a problem with reading it is Alamy.  Everywhere else is fine.

I also once tried to use Windows to do some stuff but for some reason it wouldn't read any of it on any of the sites I'm on so I haven't used it since.

And I agree pre-doing all the keywording and descriptions will save you tons of time during your uploads.

*edited to add*

I too thing something is automated there especially with vector files.  Photos (for me) take a day or so to be reviewed.  I also had the same thing happen as the OP.  Was uploading bout 10 vectors and was working on the categories and they were reviewed before I could get the rest of them finished.  Really quick it is.  Course I had a vector rejected for being OOF which I think is funny.

I too agree that there are things/people that I try to avoid while I'm there.  But that's the only place I've really gotten any help or encouragement from.  Sometimes you just have to  ::) and move on.

And the forum still runs like crap and the search function doesn't look like it was even touched.  Doesn't look like much was improved when they took the board down for a few moments.

Ya know I didn't start this thread for the bs that has found it's way in it.  Not everyone is about pimping all the time.  I'm not one of them.  So sue those of us that like to chat and actually help people out.  I was happy because then the users would be able to search the forum to find answers to their questions instead of posting the same things over and over again like what had happened since the search was messed up.

A lot of us like to help others out when they start out doing this and we couldn't do it effectively while the board was running slow to getting proxy errors.  And some of us like to actually chat with one another.  It's a message board and if you don't like it don't go there it's very easy to bipass.

YAY!!!  Page says they're working on the message board to make them faster and is down for maintainance.  Hopefully that will help when users search the board as well.  That would be nice.

@cuppacoffee man I wish I had a donut!  I don't even have biscuits in a can to fake a donut (learned that from Paula Deen)

@fotografer it is a relief.  All sorts of things went through my mind when it was going on.  Not a good thing to go through right after waking up.

Went from what the *bleep* did I do wrong?  To thank goodness it's all back to normal.  Well, cept for the server lag for sales that is.  I have no decent tea so coffee will have to do :P

Everything looks to be back.  The missing button was the request payment one.  I can post to the boards and I moved my files back to pending and thankfully they're still at the same time frame they were at before this started this morning.

Wish they'd given us a heads up instead of freaking me out like that.

Maybe they're messing with me right now.  And for the life of me I can't figure out which button it is.  Probably something I've never used.

Now all my pending files 3 of them were moved back to unfinished???  I'm afraid to move them back because they could get moved back again???

Man I hope I'm not the only one seeing this.  I went to my management area and there's a button missing.  I went to the boards to see if anyone else sees it no one posted so I went to go post and "I'm not allowed to at the moment" was in the place of the post button.

So what the bloody hell is going on?  I have a support ticket in on another issue so I don't want to send in another one just in case this is a temporary thing.  They could've at least posted something somewhere about it.  Or they did and I just didn't see it.

Anyone else this morning?

Oh, I see.  It's the home page that's different.  Thanks Cathy :)

I have the contributor page bookmarked.  That hasn't changed thank goodness.

I thought that new one was the contributors page  :P  Shows what I know.

That's what it looks like to me too...as per cclapper's image.  It's the main page area that's changed.  I too haven't gone any further into the site to see if there's anything else in there.  Hope they fixed the bug with editing uploads.  Course I'd have to have something to upload but I don't.

Must've just rolled out because I just checked my stats there like an hour ago and went back like a minute ago and that new page showed up.  Not sure if it's an improvement or not I just guess I have to get used to it.

716
It started sometime late last year Warren when they started indexing the image description.  I forget when it started but it's been around for like less than 6 months now.

717
Someone posted on here last week that they're not accepting new artists right now.

I too agree with the keyword spamming on SS it's really annoying.  When I search the database for an idea I've come up with I like to look at what others have done just in case what I'm thinking off either 1: has been done to death or 2: if it's too close to what others have done.  And I can't look if there are images that don't flipping belong to that particular keyword.  I can't remember what I was looking for but ran across some images and saying "What . does that have to do with what I looked for?"  It's out of control.

Thanks Poul I appreciate it.  I've only got one image that runs along the lines of that.  I haven't had a chance to do anymore let alone 5 of them.  Maybe I'll work on people stuff this week it's been something I've been meaning to do anyway instead of backgrounds and objects and seasonal stuff.

Thank you for the kind words too and will definitely get back to the site when I have what you need.

Thanks again,

Anita

Sounds like someone needs a CPA badly. At least to help straighten out this current mess. I've dealt with the IRS several times from the wrong side of the argument. I've learned: You ALWAYS FILE on time. You ALWAYS PAY on time -- despite when you get paid. You MUST plan tax stuff ahead. You probably SHOULD be paying estimated taxes computed by the CPA.

One more thing. You NEVER trust what the IRS tells you over the phone.

Yeah realized that once I got the forms and started to fill them out and got extremely confused.  I'm just going to bite the bullet and pay penalties next month then next year get someone to do this for me so I can learn which ones I need to file then do it all on my own.  Which is what I normally do but with dealing with just royalties only and no other income it's been a struggle just to figure out what I'm supposed to be filing.

This is the first year that I've not been on top of my tax stuff.  I don't ever want to go through this again.

721
I'm screwed until May.  I only have royalties and can't afford to file it online until May when I get paid.  So if I knew which * forms I needed (since the IRS was of no help or didn't exactly know what I was talking about) I'd be all done and out in the mail.

Why do they have to make this *bleep* so * hard?

Yeah just saw the email.  Is there a link on the site where I can see some examples of things that you're looking for?  I may or may not have them don't know.

I appreciate the answer you gave me before I even asked why LOL.  Also, thanks for keeping me in mind as well.

I keyword in irfanview and it doesn't copy all of my keywords into that third box.  I have to cut and paste from the computer :/

What's the reviewing process like?  I also couldn't find any information about file sizes and if there are any restrictions on that.  Definitely looks interesting.

Thanks in advance,

Anita
