« on: December 28, 2012, 04:52 »
Did they change something with the credit levels?  My total has just gone up by 600 taking me well into level 5.  I am having a BME there but it seems to have gone up by more than I expected it to.

Is anyone turning him in to the various agencies?

Wow, look at his stuff on Fotolia.  It's all based on 3-credit pricing.  He must sell a LOT there as well.

If he wasn't such a thief, I would actually feel sorry for this guy.  He seems to have good skills, and he clearly makes a lot of money in microstock, and if justice is served, his whole world is about to come crashing down.

I wonder if he supports a family from this income.  He's about to lose it all.  Very sad.  I'm very curious to see how this plays out.

I thought the same. What a shame he felt the need to steal as he is obviously very talented.

Sorry  if  i  misunderstood  and  was  out  of   line.
We are all luckily allowed 1 mistake per year on the forum. Only 4 days to hold out now.  ;) ;D
LOL that made me spit my coffee our from laughing.

The photos are beautiful.  So pleased to have been part of this. :D

733
I can absolutely see why you'd want to hide your portfolio if you were saying horrid things about the diff agencies.

People get barred not for saying horrid things but just telling the truth.

Selling Stock Direct / Re: Should I buy ktools
« on: December 24, 2012, 04:40 »
Look for what purpose this post was started! No one replied me and hacked my post for their own discussion!

Why you people dont create your own for discussion and let the experts answer the actual question of the author!
With that sort of attitude I don't think that people will be so helpful in the future. The post got a bit sidetracked but it was all relevant to giving you options and lots of people gave you completely relevant replies.

Today has really fallen off a cliff.  No sales at all at SS yet!!

Bigstock.com / Re: Weird sales pattern at BS
« on: December 24, 2012, 04:06 »
I had 5 sales on Sunday too :)

P.S. But what is interesting for me that's the more sales I have on BS the less I have on IS. And my sales went up at BS after IS has started messing with they site.
I hadn't noticed that.  My sales went up when they bridged the rest of my port over from SS.

Bigstock.com / Weird sales pattern at BS
« on: December 24, 2012, 03:06 »
Has anybody else had weird sales the last few days at BS?  I had no sales at all on Friday and Saturday and then had one of my best days for sales on Sunday.  I'm assuming that the sales just registered late for Fri and Sat but maybe all just coincidence.

. If an agency is petty enough to punish contributors for their opinions, then good riddance.
Everybodies circumstances are different and not all of us are in a position where we can afford to just say good riddance to the big earning companies. Fotolia have chucked a few people out for things they have said here and although they have tanked for me now they were for over a year my highest earner by a big margin.

739
I never bother uploading or even looking at zooonar anymore as I get so few dls but just went in and had a look to find that I had a sale this month for over 40$.  It doubled my last 6 months earnings.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: iStock's Alexa Rank continues to drop
« on: December 22, 2012, 04:13 »
I usually do not comment much on forums but.. you people are crazy. Have you any idea how much quality content there's is on iStock? If those exclusives decide to transfer their portfolio to SS your earnings will suffer. Big time. It's just that the content on iStock is of higher quality as a whole. I know how you'll respond to that but it is the truth. You just have to hope that iStock will reclaim its previous position. It would be better for everybody.

Another thing - I did not expect all those negative words here -- those people are your colleagues and are too counting on microstock income to feed their families. I thought that photographers, as artists, will be better people, but no -- it is the usual gloating.
I totally agree with you.  I'm scared to death of the thought of having to compete with all the IS exclusives at all the other sites and really feel for you all if you were in the postition where you would  have to get your ports up everywhere else.  I think it's really uncharitable to wish for the demise of IS when so many contributors would have a really hard time until they got established at all the other sites.

I do increasingly well on CanS. $4-500/ month last few months.
They seem to mirror the growth at FL for me so maybe they have a similar search algorithm?
500 DOLLAR a month??

How big is your port? Thats insane, I dont even make that on SS monthly. CanStockPhoto is 8 dollar a month for me. hahahaha
It's not how big it is but what you do with it (or what's in it )
I'm impressed.  I rarely make more than a 100$ with them but I think I missed the boat on a lot of these 'smaller' sites by only uploading to the big 4 for so long.

Yesterday was surprisingly good on most sites particularly in Europe but I'm sure from today it will totally tank everywhere.

123RF / Re: got $3.00 for a EEL sale? really?
« on: December 22, 2012, 03:30 »
I just had the same issue. Half an hour ago I had a one subscription sale and then it's gone. Than after 20 minutes it's come back. I've no idea what was that
This happens regularly at SS.  It's something to do with the servers and always staightens itself out eventually.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Let's contribute to istock's demise!
« on: December 21, 2012, 15:42 »

Secondly, I was hesitant to post in this thread because of the title.

You are right Lisa, I changed the title as the previous one wasn't that great :)

New title definitely makes more sense :)

Am I the only independent who has mixed feelings about Istock's demise?

I can definitely understand the sense of schadenfreude at seeing a site that has behaved with such hubris suffer as a result of their actions.

But at the same time, I would much prefer for them to roll back the bad changes, begin rewarding contributors with more respect (and more MONEY), and pull out of this nosedive.

It may be naive, but I see the recent improvements in site functionality, communication, and freezing the RC rates for next year as steps in the right direction.  It gives me some hope that the new owners are more far sighted than the prior ones.

Of course it may be way too little way too late.  I don't know.
Totally agree for more than one reason.  It would be very hard for exclusives to have to upload large ports to multiple sites especially if they haven't already got the  keywords etc in the metadata.  Also as I said above I don't want to have to compete with all the exclusives at all the other sites. I would much rather IS start to treat contributors properly but unfortunately that seems unlikely to last.

Thanks CD123.
Merry Christmas to you and everyone else here. Thanks for making this place alive with great discussion. I hope you all reach your 2013 goals and beyond.
Thanks Leaf for running such a great site. It's really appreciated that we have somewhere to find out in one place what is going on at all sites and a place to let off steam.

I'm not so sure that I want it's demise as I would then have to compete with people like Sean on all sites!!!!
