Do anyone know what this is about? Anyone's familiar with the DACS payback scheme and can tell me what kind of money are we talking about? It's the first time I got it from Alamy, but I know it from a different agency. You can read about it here: http://www.dacs.org.uk/for-artists/paybackI don't remember how much money it was (obviously not that much), but it will depend on how many licenses you sold at what price in the UK. It's additional income for licenses already sold, so why not take it?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the logos officially went the way of the Dodo...
I'm sure that's what goober meant!
Oh, sometimes I'm immune to irony...

I haven't sent a request for a fast review in ages. Basically because they stopped paying out those $5 for newsworthy photos...

It worked for me - all of two days. Now it's broken again...

Am I wrong or is this the first time that PP starts on IS before the earnings at StockXPert were displayed?
Also, is it just me, or takes logging in at StockXpert minutes for everyone?

I can understand the scepticism towards the "deal" - I, too, cringe everytime an agency sends me an email stating that they are excited about something... What I cannot understand is the downright hostility towards representatives of that agency, trying to explain what little they obviously are allowed to...

a small group of 184k contributors, ain't that a little too much for a simple test? and for sure over 1M files? is there a company who needs that much? use the free images!

I think it's a click-view payment rather than a download of some kind.
Well, that's obviously a fabulous revenue stream that I've been overlooking, then!
Show me your image and I'll click it for you

One of the many reasons why we parted ways last year, Fotolia and I.

It's your fault, Paul! You mentioned him who must not be named...

Now, I'm getting curious... Ellen who?!?
http://www.mystockphoto.org/istock-100-royalty-day-2014/
Ellen's the one who took over when Rebecca left, and who didn't feel the need to mingle with contributors.
Given Rebecca's track record that's not necessarily a bad thing That said, it's good to see something positive going on at IS

No he will not screw people purposely but he will not hesitate to leave stocksy contributors screwed if gets millions of money again... Quite frankly, if someone had offered me 50 millions, I would have done the same. I also would own my private island and be world's leading photographer of half-naked hula girls by now...

April's earnings are in - on May 6th, no less. Must be a new speed record
Are you sure? I haven't seen anything.
stockxpert not at iStock
Yes, should have made that clearer...

To compare earnings from agencies with completely different prices and sales patterns, like for example SS and Alamy, I simple calculate my RPD - which in this case is "return per day" or simply "lifetime earnings on this site" divided by "number of days at this site". For me this nicely evens out all seasonal changes, provided I've been with a site long enough. To answer the question, Alamy is on 6th place (head to head with FT) for me, but still way ahead of Bigstock or Canstockphoto - not to speak of Veer As I had my personal D-day at FT last July, I guess Alamy will make it into 5th place some time this year

Stop playing your stupid semantic games.
As I said above: Yuri lied when he said "As of last month, our entire collection of images, now reaching 120000, can only be found on our own site Peopleimages.com, GettyImages.com and Istockphoto.com." and many other lies in his article http://arcurs.com/2013/07/microstock-sees-its-first-major-setback-in-6-years-and-here-is-why.
iStock is lying when they claim to buyers that all of his images are 'only from iStock'.
No matter how much you might like to defend the indefensible, these are the facts. And with that, I'm out of this discussion, but not necessarily of this thread.
I never disagreed with any of that. What I disagreed with was your statement that "Yuri said he went exclusive". That's all.
I'll add that with the way you react to disagreement it's hardly surprising that you got banned.
"...can only be found on..." and "...exclusive on..." do not mean the same thing?

Edit: And I get a (nice) e-mail from Kelvin, stating that exclusivity works exactly as I described, but should I find myself selling photos worth millions of dollars I may apply for a special deal at HQ...
Didn't work for me ...
Maybe not Danish enough? Or maybe not enough millions? Or maybe alltogether too outspoken? Wonder what it really was...

I expect the following to happen:
-) The thread gets locked and then disappears
-) I get banned
-) Lobo writes me a nasty PM
-) Shudderstok takes action based on the points above
And it's gone - the thread lasted all of 60 minutes Edit: And I get a (nice) e-mail from Kelvin, stating that exclusivity works exactly as I described, but should I find myself selling photos worth millions of dollars I may apply for a special deal at HQ... Two(ish) out of four - I'm on a roll here

take action to find out if your above comment is speculation. you never know, they might not lock it, and you never know CR might do something about it. if no action is taken, then the speculation will always continue. did you ever stop to think that GI and IS might not even know that yuri is double dipping without their knowledge? maybe yuri has requested to close the accounts and they did not close them. i actually think if they locked the thread or deleted it, that would be the kiss of death for them. it would really piss a lot of people off, including me. i am not a fan of the IS nonsense of all in or all out, especially when GI allows image exclusivity.
nobody will ever know till someone takes action and does the old copy and paste of what has been noted above.
it won't be me that posts it, but if it does get posted, then i will certainly get involved and ask why 'oneruleforaselectfewanotherforeveryoneelse'
Done! http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=360692&page=1Here is the text I posted on the IS forum - just in case it gets lost "My understanding of exclusivity so far was, that not only did you have to have at least 250 sales and an approval rating of > 50%, you are also not allowed to have royalty-free photos on sale anywhere. This is also what it says in the FAQs.
My simple question is this: How can it be that literally tens of thousans of photos by a prominent Danish photographer, who went exclusive last summer, are still on sale on several RF-sites?
Are there two kinds of exclusivity and, if so, how does one apply for the second, not-quite-so-exclusive kind?"I expect the following to happen: -) The thread gets locked and then disappears -) I get banned -) Lobo writes me a nasty PM -) Shudderstok takes action based on the points above

Today I have deleted my 700+ files manually. I download and tried MicrostockSubmit free version, but did'nt found "Remove fotolia images.
Anyway, for speed up manual deleting process, I used following method.
1. In firefox, open your fotolia "manage my files" web and set file view to 25
2. Zoom out 3 time using keyboard shortcut Ctrl++ so you can see "delete this file" button without scrolling. This command is in firefox View menu --> Zoom --> zoom out.
3. Right click on delete link and open in new tab (I opened 25 tabs from first manage files page)
4. Click on delete this file button and use alt+tab to goto next tab. (shift+alt+tab will navigate in reverse order)
5. Finally press ctrl+0 to reset page zoom to default. This command is under Firefox view menu --> Zoom --> Reset
Why not just send them an e-mail asking to end your membership? It's also a good opportunity to tell them why you are doing it...
