Hi All,

We can allow your files to be deactivated (not on sale) and then deactivate your account. However, we have had instances when photographers literally told us that it's a crime to keep even a backup copy of their files when they leave. So which is which? To make things simple we just made a rule when you go, we'll delete all your files, it's much cleaner and simpler to explain in this manner.

So which is it now? Do advise!

Alex.

123RF / Re: Poor website design and functionality NEEDS amended!
« on: January 17, 2012, 20:38 »
Thank you for your honest feedback.

1. Captcha was required because the automated lookstat and other sales analysis tools out there are hitting our servers hard with multiple queries - this pulls down overall site performance and results in slower response times for the clients. We have something in BETA that will help, and our team is analyzing the beta to further optimize and speed up the queries.
2. We can't see what you see at other agencies. If you'd be able to design something, I'll channel the feedback to our IT team, perhaps we can work it into our system as well. You may email me directly: [email protected].
3. We prioritize the site design to allocate more user friendliness towards the image buyers. We don't have much space left on the top.
4. We can fix that right now.
5. Ignore? I'm responding now... aren't I? Some say that 123RF communicates best, now you say something different... I guess the old sayings are true. We just can't please everyone.

Hope you'll be patient.
Alex.

123RF / Re: Wow - the 123RF site really is up the creek!
« on: January 17, 2012, 06:58 »
We had a bit of a hiccup but our pro developers found the bug and squished it soon after. The queries however, are cached, so some might still encounter problems ... do give it some time, about a couple of hours.

Thanks!

Alex.

Hi Everyone,

The URL quoted is a bit off, this is the right one: http://submit.123rf.com/footage

You'll have to log in.

We're prioritizing image reviews now, so footage will be a bit slower, we'll deal with this soon.

Thank you very much.

123RF / Re: 100, 200, 300 MB sales
« on: January 05, 2012, 04:39 »
Yes, we do charge that much.

In our last "IES promo" we dropped the prices

from 150 to 120
from 300 to 180
from 450 to 230

We didn't see any increase in purchases, nor did we see any increase in higher resolutions being purchased.

So the prices remained. If there is a demand, we'll cater to it.

Thank you very much.

Alex

Hi All,

We're running analysis on stats to come up with a fair commission structure.

Do be patient. We will announce more when we've gained upper management buy in.

Thank you very much.

« on: January 03, 2012, 22:53 »
Hi All,

Sales of these file sizes are few and far in between and to date we don't have any "2 orders for the same size" happening.

We also had a sale for these up sizes in September - we paid the same rates, 20, 40, and 60 but not much demand generated from the reduction in prices. So we reset it to the current levels.

Thank you.

Alex.

Hi All,

100 mb, 200mb, 300mb sales -- I remembered we have a thread about this the last time. But roughly here goes:

We pay 20 credits, 40 credits and 60 credits for the sizes respectively.

These are full credits, not the usual 50% cut deal :)

Thanks very much.

Alex.

Hi All,

All emails were sent out to all contributors, check your spam folders in your inbox.

I also did say PM me with your 123RF usernames and we'll try our best to get you in through the door several days back.

You may still do so, we're now really at the 11th hour.

Thank you,

Alex.

« on: January 02, 2012, 20:01 »
Hello All,

Contributor's Agreement: http://www.123rf.com/submit/agreement.php

For all intents and purposes, 123RF and Inmagine are two separate entities. Inmagine is a 123RF Authorized Partner Reseller. All sales will be reported as such and we still do a 50-50 split with what 123RF earns.

Thank you very much.

Alex.

Hi All,

It's the last working day for many of us. So we're really prioritizing the one who will just make the cut. I hope the ones who have been with us and have already made the cut will be patient as we try our best to get more through the door.

Additionally, as long as your accepted count is more than 150, you're considered "IN".

Happy New Year, do enjoy but stay safe...!

Alex.

123RF / Re: How long to get approved on 123rf?
« on: December 29, 2011, 20:52 »
Hi All,

It's the holidays :) we're working full steam with all hands on deck. We're trying to do 2 things:
1. Get as many contributors through the images platform as possible before Jan 1, 2012.
2. Getting the reviewers up to speed with reviewing footages

It'll take sometime but we're getting there, don't worry.

For those of you who are thinking whether to continue uploading your videos, please do so, when we do reviews, we review in batches using a First In, First Out method. If you have 3 approved today, and you upload more today, you'll be right at the back of the queue again. So best that you upload MORE before we get to you so that all your videos will be reviewed in one go.

More announcements to follow, do log in and watch out for the MOTD (Message of the Day).

Alex.

They must be giving preference to people who need to reach the 150 image and 10 image sales goals.

While I was a member I had not uploaded any images yet, last week I uploaded my port and they were reviewed in a few short days with 10 sales in short order.  It looks to me like they are trying to give everyone more than a fair chance to hit the new requirements.

Glad you noticed :)

Hey there,

For those of you who are still at the gates waiting to make the cut by about 50 images or so, we're creating a last minute VIP line only for MSGers.

PM me with your 123RF userID, I'll get people to review it for you quickly ;)

Happy New Year!

Alex.

Hey there,

Our IT Manager informs me that we have prepared 10 thumbnails throughout the movie play that can be used as representative thumbnails.

We just have to implement a way in which you can select the thumbnails that best suits your footage.

The thumbnails capture 10 frame that are equally spaced throughout the length of the footage.

This should cover most contingencies.

Hope that's OK with you?

Alex

Good questions!

1. We can implement that, perhaps at a later that, or do some YouTube thing, grab a frame in the vid and then display it. (We can't have mismatches...!)
2. Of course we will!

Merry Christmas :)

I'm not sure if you have already addressed this:
- When will out footage clips be reviewed?

- When do we know if our clips are what you are looking for?

- When will 123RF footage launch?

Thanks in advance.

1. We're starting reviews today.
2. You'll know when we start reviews, mostly commercial types please. I've seen some editorial like ones, we don't want those for now.
3. When we have enough content - perhaps mid January 2012.

Thank you!

Alex

Hi All,

For those who are having trouble with FTP, you'll need to create an account first:

Once you've done so you can actually see the supported file formats:

Will did ask me, I did reply:
Quote
1080HD - 65 creds
720HD - 55 creds
480SD - 40 creds
240WD - 15 creds

same 50% cut for us as photos......

Anything else?

Alex

97
Hi All,

1. Paid downloads = creds + subs
2. If you have a good portfolio and are having good downloads, you can appeal ...
3. As long as you make the cut, your commission share will still be 50%

Hope everyone is clearer with the explanation above.

Alex.

Hi All,

Thank you for the pressing questions, as yes, I do know that things are a bit vague at the moment. There's a reason for that, we're taking the latest statistical data, analyzing it and then making decisions on what are the criteria to be included in the classification of the commission payments.

We're only doing this for the new contributors, as it is, we believe that photographers with good portfolios will not be severely penalized as their level of sales should bring them up to where they fairly need to be relatively quickly.

There will be as usual - grace periods. However, we will not negotiate private backdoor entries, simply because if we did that everyone would want a back door entry and we'll be flooded with a lot of requests. I believe it also creates a lot of despotism etc.

Our only advice is upload with us, we'll help with bulk uploads and acceptance. But let your portfolio speak for itself - in terms of sales. If the quality and merchantability of the portfolio is good, they'll be right up there with the rest in a relatively short period of time.

Do be patient, we'll announce more when the time is right ;)

99
Hi All,

Yes, we're always listening. Our strategy was meant to affect the new ones more than the 'experienced' ones. We are also trying to motivate the ones sitting on the fence to 'upload' sooner rather than later.

We do not see this as a cost cutting measure, as most of you made the cut. We believe that most of you who have extensive graphs and laser sharp analytical skills would come to the conclusion that the cost cutting effect is very minimal. And any 'cost savings' realized are very small and gradual especially in the beginning.

Have an open mind - Please view this as a necessary stepping stone towards bigger things.

As usual, we will be fair, and equitable - ESPECIALLY to contributors who have good sales, productive and a proven track record. *hint hint*.

Alex.
