The bigger question.... Buying your prints.... Worthwhile?
You probably mean selling your prints. The answer is "it depends". Mostly on what you shoot/sell. Personally, my income from prints is comparable to my microstock income. And I expect to have no microstock income within 2-3 years, because I expect the prices and royalties to drop further and would then simply leave. Prints should be available longer as income source. But it's your decision whether to try it.
May I ask where are you selling your prints?

While review times for some have definitely been longer than they were in years past, I'm not aware of any review times at 5 months. 8 weeks is more realistic. The screen shot shared by the OP shows the date from the time the file was uploaded, not the time submitted. Most comments/questions I have fielded on this, it turns out the file was uploaded to the portal, then sat there for months without being keyworded and submitted. The actual review time is based on the day/time you submit the content, not upload it. I know that can be confusing since the wait time shown is based on the upload date.
Please share with me the file number you are referencing so I can see if that is the case here or not. If it has truly been sitting in the moderation queue for 5 months, there may be an issue I need to investigate.
thanks,
Mat Haywawrd
I have a file in the queue 4 months now, , does have keywords and description too. File ID: 755936414 Can you please check it as well. My photos have been reviewed very late for some reason.

Hmm, if I reed correctly you mean do not buy drone? I mean for more income, I love to buy for fun anyway.
Don't buy a drone, they said.
Won't make any good sales, they said.
I still own Air 2s and waiting Air 3s so I can consider buying. Is that was un shutter stock />? The sale?

Hello Everyone,
How are your drone photography sales going? I have about 100 photos, but my sales haven't been great. What kind of shots are selling well for you? Should I take overhead or from the side? From 400 feet or close to the subject as possible?
Sales are consistent but generally very low priced - average of 51cents per download. For videos it's also not great at an average of $4.23. Tough business.
Here are some of my best-selling images. Sweeping cityspaces and landmarks with nice light are popular.
I have some drone images that sell good, videos not really. But I stopped to upload video to stock agencies, And will try to sell them individually. May I ask what service are you using to see various income from agencies?

Good video , very informative. I would probably cut the scenes where you struggle. I use DJI Mic2 as a wireless mic, and really happy with it.
Thank You for comment. DJI Mic is on my list also. I think it is couple other great on market.
You can check my channel if you'd like to see about DJI Mic2. What gear you want to get?

Was intent on upgrading to the Air 3 for the reasons you outlined but have had second thoughts after recent declines in my stock ports earnings + not being able to sell my Air 2 combo.
Wait for dji air 3s. On the corner. I won't upgrade my drones yet. air 2s provide me with great images . If I were to upgrade my drone, will be magic 3 pro. Feel free to check my YT channel.
Read about some rumours regarding the 3s....better battery, full obstacle avoidance sensors.
It's both frustrating and encouraging that there's always new and better on the horizon. Even though I just invested in the Air 3, it probably won't be until the Air 5 that I'll upgrade.
Who knows by then what they will have by then. Some of my predictions:
- Built-in ND filters - At least average of 60-minute flight times due to more powerful yet lighter batteries - 6x optical zoom at equivalent of 140mm - Less noisy
But also who knows that in 2-3 years there will also be more restrictions on where and when we can fly especially with a heavier drone.
I have already invested 4k in a good laptop for video editing. I won't upgrade my drones any time soon. All 3 drones are fit for purpose. Also the weather in UK this year has been really bad. Only flown my drones couple of times. I would say it's really nice to own a drone and live somewhere in tropical countries, get some nice videos . Apart from that , a mini drone is all day round in Europe with less restrictions.

I have been flying drones for 3-4 years now. Mainly air 2s which I still own and fly it. I love my mini 3 pro and got the avata1 as well. Hard to learn FPV. You need to shoot specific place with your drone to make some sales. I have a port with around 800 drone videos, and sold only 1 on P5. Sold couple of times on Adobe.

I have files in queue for 2 and some for 3 months, what is going on? that never happend and it is damaging my sales, all non AI
I've noticed they are prioritising the AI content. My real photos still in the queue while new Ai images have been reviewed.

I didnt start till 2018 but each year my earnings rise as more content is uploaded, I only upload 25 photos a week and have never missed a week in 6 years. I do photography as a hobby so dont consider it work and I work full time elsewhere. Ive reached $500 to $600 a month for doing relatively nothing I wouldnt normally be doing so Im happy with it.
To which agencies you are contributing, if you don't mind me asking.

Lately I've been getting more money from posting my content on Facebook than from selling it on Adobe. Time to say goodbye to microstock is getting closer..
How do you get money for posting to FB? Sounds like you're doing the right things.
There are a few different ways of earning money on Fb and IG - e.g. ads on videos, performance bonus and more. Availability depends on country, achieving specific reach milestones and on plain luck as some are invitation only. In the past I never would have thought I'd be saying I earn money by posting on FB, but here we are . My post was not about praising Fb though, but about ever declining Adobe earnings, which is the last microstock agency still "standing"
Off topic again, from my understandings, you are posting lots of shorts ? Looking to quit stock industry, as a newbie is time consuming and it's just not worth the effort to be honest.

I think the removed assets are basically totally deleted. I have 1 removed for some reason. No clear instructions why.

I already have 1 asset removed from my port without any reason. When I clicked to see the reason, it just sent me to rejected page and that's it.

I think Adobe went funny on my portfolio. None of my 800 files have been reviewed and, none of images nominated and received an email saying that some of my images have been re reviewed and have been removed from the port. Probably will stop supply any images or videos to them...

I've got email saying that none of my images have been selected. 😂😂. What a joke.

It will be really strange if it is covered under "extra channels" because as I mentioned this stock site has quite high price range for video (it was video only till couple of years back). Also KeyCutStock is one of the very few that asked for written and sent back contract on paper. Its not a penny stock agency to cover under the "extra channels".
A bit off topic, is it good agency to contribute to ?

That week I had about $200 in sales. Around 12,000 images in portfolio. Only $1/wk for 4,000 assets is pretty bad honestly. If you can post your portfolio, I can give you an advice. My portfolio is below.
https://stock.adobe.com/search?creator_id=203855208
Thanks. I can PM my portfolio if that's OK.

No updates on this. I have around 700 files waiting and half of them are waiting more than a month. Never happed this before to me. What's wrong with Adobe ?
I understand that it's not nice to have finished content waiting, but since you've already had 4200 content approved in a year I think you can now wait a month or so,I don't think it's anything serious.
You've only been a contributor on Adobe Stock for a year and you already have more than 4,000 content for sale, isn't that enough?
I only make $5-7 a week , do you think that's enough?
it's your first year, microstock is a marathon not a sprint.
anyway the point is that you have already had more than 4000 content approved in the first year, now even if you have to wait sometimes a month or two for review I don't think it makes much difference, your content will still be approved shortly.
I really hope. On other agencies already have been approved. And made some sales. It's really annoying. Maybe Matt can check it out.
