Watched a Youtube video earlier from one of the contributors on here (Microstock Life). He suggested that having images in your portfolio that are very similar to each other is (sometimes) not a great thing. That being the case, I am tempted to delete maybe 10 of them and keep the rest.

Question is, if they haven't sold whatsoever, can it still do harm to my account or does it not really matter to the rest of the account?

Thanks

I don't think having content in your portfolio that is similar to other assets is beneficial but if it's online, I can't think of a benefit to deleting it either. Most likely, all but one of the files are going to be embedded deeper into your search results so they will not likely be seen. You could find some one-off sales however.

To answer your question directly, no there is not a negative impact to deleting files other than the fact it would be impossible to sell a license for them if you remove them from your portfolio.

Hi Everyone,

For those of you who opted video content into the Free collection, I want to give you a heads up that the approved clips are in the process of being transferred to the Free collection at this time and that $8 per approved video will be added to your contributor balance. This process should be complete by the end of the day today. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Mat Hayward

Mat,

Any news on if there will be a "Adobe Stock 2023 contributor bonus program" and what the parameters will be?

Thanks!

I don't have any information to share on this right now.

Thanks,

Adobe Stock / Re: recent top sellers list?
« on: November 10, 2023, 14:53 »

The main benefit is an increased level of bragging rights. If you make it to that list, it's validation you are doing something right. It means your newer uploads are meeting the needs of customers and are selling well. The moderation team does not see this information, nor do customers.

Thanks,

Mat Hayward
Thank you Mat for clarifying it. Is there a way to opt out of being featured on this list? If moderators or customers dont see it, I would rather stay humble.

It would be nice if there would be a badge that Adobe can attach to a profile. It would speak of quality of images and might give customers more confidence to download them?

No option to opt out of this. It's an automated process.

What exactly is 'illustrative editorial'? You mean just taking a picture of a building with logos would be fine as a photo submission?

You can review the Adobe Stock guidelines for illustrative editorial submissions here: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/illustrative-editorial-content.html

Good luck,

Very interesting. Thanks.

Do you know if there is a limit on the number of collections I can have?

Thanks

I'm glad you are seeing some sales! There are no limits to the number of collections you can create. You can feature up to two collections at a time in your public facing portfolio page.

I've put together a quick class video showing you how to customize the portfolio page here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQ-2Z-puhZU

Good luck!

I guess I had 3 coincidences 😂 Mat, what are the benefits of top sellers list (other than getting a free PS subscription)?  Can customers see that seller was on that list? What about people who accept our submitted images, do they see that sellers images  are what customers seek?

Anyone saw any benefits from featured on recent top sellers list?

So far, Ive been featured 3 times this year, but my sales actually went down every time during those weeks.

This would be a coincidence only. The feature is only visible to contributors and doesn't impact customer behavior in any way.

Do not submit generative AI vector images. If our policy changes on that, I will notify everyone here.

Thanks,

Mat Hayward

I strongly advise you do not submit vector images created with generative AI software. Instead, my recommendation is to fully comply with the generative AI submission guidelines: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/generative-ai-content.html

If the policy changes in the future, I'll be sure to let everyone here know.

-Mat Hayward

You are saying that generative AI vector images are going to be rejected ?
If it is so....how it is possible that EACH and EVERY day there is MORE and MORE obviously generative AI vector images in collection ?

P.S. If we ( as contributors ) are able to see that those files are generative AI -  I'm SURE that Adobe moderation team can see it too.

86
Thanks Mat,

I did fear that would be the case but have you any thoughts why the software wouldn't pick up on the other images that are very similar in my collection?

Thanks

I cannot speculate on this, sorry.

I have given that answer quite a few times. I cannot/will not discuss other contributor accounts. My strong recommendation to you is to stick with the generative AI submission guidelines: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/generative-ai-content.html

Thanks,

Hello Mat,

Thanks for finally providing a proper answer, because I haven't been able to get one from adobe support.

What about these portfolios then?
https://stock.adobe.com/uk/contributor/211464333/oleksandr?order=creation&asset_id=648697971
https://stock.adobe.com/uk/contributor/211603998/william?load_type=author&prev_url=detail&asset_id=651733836

They are obviously AI generated SVG files..

I have at least 6 images that are very similar on my portfolio but, for some reason, only 2 are showing up on the "More From This Series" option below that.

Is there anything I can do to change this? Should I draw it to Adobe's attention? The images are certainly very similar and could easily attract a potential buyer's attention if they liked one of the images.

Thanks

This isn't something that can be customized.

I currently have an ad running on Pinterest which points to a specific Adobestock collection of mine. Now I am wondering if I have made a mistake.

If I point someone to an Adobestock collection, can they easily buy an image from within that? (It's difficult for me to know as the account owner)

Thanks In Advance

This is fine. I hope it works well for you!

Its gone!

Yes it is. The bar is gone. The information is still available however. Check the statistics dropdown and you'll see a new line item "other payments". Moving forward, this is where you will see payments that don't fall under the traditional activity category.

Update: Next batch of 13 images rejected as a whole!!!

Seriously?? Not a single image gets through? Is this the end?

Was it because they are autumn pictures and the review took so long that they are too late?

Mat, can you please explain to us what's going on?

I would need to see the photos. Share them here and I'll be happy to provide a critique.

Thank you,

Mat Hayward

Come on, Mat! I really appreciate your presence here and I am grateful for all the insights you provide. However, when it comes to review process, the way you act is just ridiculous. Instead of admitting that there is a problem with random rejections (not to mention months of waiting for any decision), you keep pretending that everything is fine. It doesn't matter what the quality of 13 images discussed here is. It is a general problem that affects, as far as I can see, all the members of this forum, even the most professional ones.

Fair enough. Thank you for your feedback.

Mat,I almost forgot,I saw that you are Metallica addicted, you probably already understood this, but my nickname here on microstockgroup is inspired by Metallica's epic album and justice for all and my avatar is the Rage Against The Machine t-shirt,the statue of liberty with a Molotov cocktail instead of the torch! :D

you miss the 80/90s too I see!come on..we're still going strong! :)

I saw them live during the "And justice for all tour." Had quite a story come out of that one actually. Probably best left out of the internet :)

Hey Mat, don't you think Adobe should hire some new employees, with human intelligence, for real contents review?  8)

I tried suggesting that, word for word. They pointed out that when they hired me, they were hoping for "human intelligence". Clearly, that didn't work out so this one was a swing and a miss. Thanks so much for the helpful suggestion though :)

Mat

96
Mat, you may have mentioned this elsewhere, but I must have missed it.
If I use Generate in photoshop to remove an item from my photograph, do I have to check the AI box?
Thanks

Generally, no. You would not need to identify a photograph that you used Firefly to remove an item from. Please review the full policy here for clarity: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/generative-ai-content.html

Thanks for the question,

Mat Hayward

There is absolutely no relation between opting into the Free collection and your review results. The moderation team would have no way of knowing how many files, if any you opted in for free.

The only thing opting into the Free collection affects, is the potential for sales on approved files during the year they are in the free collection, as well as your contributor balance when you are paid for approved files.

I love a good conspiracy theory as much as the next person. Sorry to debunk this one for you.

98
Mat, will the contributors get a share of the credits used for the "fast lane" generative fill?

Credits are distributed through your Creative Cloud subscription. If you qualified for a bonus code for a complimentary Creative Cloud subscription, then yes is the answer to your question.

Hi Everyone,

I'll be broadcasting live in Behance Live (I come from the land of redundancy land) at 12pm PT with Adobe legend, Terry White. We'll go over the latest and greatest Adobe features recently announced including Firefly, new Lightroom tools, and more. The tools we will discuss have potential to make your lives easier, and/or expand your stock portfolio so you should check it out. I hope to see you there. We should have plenty of time for a live Q&A so if you have a burning question, this is a good opportunity to ask.
