I'm guessing colourbox.

If they don't go in a few hours, I delete and try again.

I'm feeling slighted.  I said Jon wouldn't know good photography if it jumped up and bit him in the ass, and didn't get a warning.  *pout*

Now this dude seems to be hauling gear ranging from macro to telephoto primes, shooting everything from peacocks to dump trucks. Remarkably versatile, it seems.

I see nothing remarkable about this low quality portfolio.  Thieves usually pick better work to steal.

Just because someone gets around doesn't mean they are cheating.  Take a look at my portfolio, and see if you can guess what gear I use, and how much I travel.  https://stock.adobe.com/contributor/86133/Darla%20Hallmark

You had me worried there for a moment.

Using simple tools that came with your program will produce the same image that others using the same tool produce.

Parallel development happens all the time.  Put more thought into your graphics, and that won't happen.

Just a note.  Corporate Art has been around since the 1960's.  Elevator lobbies have been decorated with it almost from the beginning of elevator lobbies.

I don't understand the enthusiasm for bitcoin.

I would not want it as payment.

Zazzle has nightshirts.  I think they call them dorm shirts, or shirt dresses.

I sell on Society 6.  Sales are moderate.  Uploading is a freaking pain.

I took a closer look at icon0.  They do have a large section of free downloads. I notice they are using contributor numbers instead of names, though.

Check to see if the number attached to your image matches your account number.

Send a message to support at your agency, and ask them if icon0 is an affiliate.

It's probably legit, but looks sketchy.  My impression is that they are a "new approach" site that is failing.

86
I know vecteezy is an affiliate.  I'm not familiar with icon0.

You can tell a site is an affiliate if they show your name in the information about the image, and also have most of your portfolio. A thief will never put your name on anything.

There are also sites that appear to offer images for sale, but really just have thumbnails and comps that they have copied.  It's annoying, but legal. The watermarks of the sites thumbnails are from will still be on the images.

I just upload, then check back the next day.  The images are there by then.

I just dropped Bigstock, leaving me only five agencies for now. (one of which is Canstock, which hardly counts)  I'm currently making more from POD than from microstock.

I'll keep making and uploading new work because... well... it's what I do.

How do you balance creating for work/money and creating for personal fulfillment? I sometimes feel guilty when I take time away from building up my portfolios.

I never feel guilty for personal creations.  I just add them to my t-shirt shop and call it business.  Sometimes, they sell!

My favorite subjects don't overlap well with what sells.   Erotica and mythological creatures.

I like them.

Uploading is easy, pay is decent, image security is good.

I also like how the galleries look.

You will have to do promotion of your own to get good sales, though.  Their SEO is a little weak.

Here's what one of my ArtPal shops looks like.

I do old school spot illustration with black outlines.  I mostly don't use gradients, so I can make vector files that translate to the widest possible number of editing programs.

Once in a while, I'll break out into something more artistic.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Stupid Question?

I stopped uploading to Bigstock when I left Shutterstock.  I left Shutterstock back when whole portfolios of stolen or public domain images were appearing.  (whack-a-mole accounts)  I didn't want my work associated with such unscrupulous behavior.

I haven't removed my work from Bigstock, but I'm leery of what the owners might do when they are done destroying Shutterstock.

If you have not had an extended license sale, report the theft to Amazon.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Agencies hiding something from us?
« on: December 21, 2020, 08:57 »
Are the ads for the agencies?

Also, some topics have a lot of similar footage, I've been fooled by almost identical images that weren't actually mine.

But, if you see something that's certainly yours, and hasn't been sold, contact the agency about abuse.

98
I think it's about building a portfolio with a broader representation of various demographics.  Showing more than "pretty young white men and women".   Since the world is not entirely populated by such people, making other options available is just good marketing, whatever anyone might think about politics or social awareness.

Unless I am misunderstanding?

99
Sue them.  Be sure to add to the total for the anxiety this is causing you, and the erosion of your professional image.

double accounting ! They buy with subscription then they sell themselves as a single license with clients , some of the great new ideas by new CEO along with cutting the royalities.

Shutterstock doesn't need to buy a license to use images that are available for sale on their site.  Like all agencies, they reserve the right to this use.

The point of the thread is that the image was not available for sale on Shutterstock when the ads appeared.
