Envato / Re: Royalty free in envato?
« on: November 21, 2020, 19:07 »
you can still earn 0,01$ per download on envato elements...😄😄

78
hi matt, only the content from selected artists will be available on the free collection??what about content submitted by artists that will not be selected for the fund??

79
if you earn 10000$ a month with templates keep doing it,you are doing a great job...you won't earn it by selling video, maybe if you started 10 years ago...

Cameras / Lenses / Re: add bmpc 6k or sell 5div and buy r5?
« on: August 12, 2020, 09:53 »
i'd buy a mirrorless for footage...i own a gh5 and it's great for footage...btw as the post above mention,i wouldn't invest on a new camera system for stock nowdays...if you already have the 5d iv it's quite good for footage apart from not having 4k 60p...

81
does it apply to footage as well???

Envato / Re: Envato Certified as a B Corp
« on: August 07, 2020, 18:29 »
Hey All!

Just wanted to let everyone here know that Envato has officially been certified as a B Corp. Here's an excerpt from our media release about what a B Corp is:

"Envato is now one of over 3000 certified B Corp companies in 71 countries and 150 industries around the world, joining a list of other Australian B Corps such as Culture Amp, KeepCup and Bellroy.

Administered by the non-profit B Lab, B Corp certification is awarded to businesses that have a positive impact across five key domains - workers, customers, suppliers, community and the environment - and in doing so, lead the way in using business as a force for good."

For more details about it, you can check out our post here: https://envato.com/blog/envato-certified-b-corp/

Have a great day!
So I guess we shall expect a royalty cut  ;D
there is nothing more to cut at envato...unless you want to give your content away for free..

i think he missed that selling footage was an opportunity 5 years ago,not now, with so many 2/3$ sales...

85
i just removed all my footage from 2020 if things don't improve by next month rest will come down, or i slowly delete some each day until there not much left. i thought about deactivating but i guess there the risk they will copy the footage :/ ?

what is the point of deleting your content on ss and at the same time submit to istock where they pay you less than ss?? just curious...

The point is, one has to start somewhere. Today, its SS. Focus.
yes but deleting content on ss and submit to istock which sell 4k footage at 40$ and give you 20% commision doesn't make sense to me..

i add undercutting other agencies selling 4k footage at at 40$...cumbersome submission process...

88
will you miss the 7$ commission for a 4k footage??

I have a few photos that rank at the top of searches that I would like to disable.  However, I'm concerned about losing my ranking once the photos are enabled again.  Does anyone know what would happen?  Thanks.
If your intention from the beginning on was only a temporarily deactivation of your portfolio, better reactivate immediately, and accept selling the majority of your work at 10$c.
These few weeks of boycot aren't gonna change anything. This is the new normal at SS.

As I see it, there are two options: accept it and take the pennies, or quit them and don't look back.
i don't agree...they are trying to scare people doing this, but i'm sure that if you ask to reactivate the account they will do it in a bit...they are angry of contributors and new content...

When I see people like this - no link just his text - I can see that fiver doesn't really care of check.

Hi

I have membership on all paid websites. So I'm reselling images and videos here for those who can't afford full packages.

The price per image is $5 and it's fixed. So please don't bargain.

I provide stock images from these following websites:
❥ Shutterstock Creative
❥ Shutterstock Music
❥ Alamy
❥iStockphoto
❥  Depositphotos
❥Dreamstime
❥Bigstockphoto
❥Adobestock
❥123rf

Since 2015! Why don't they shut these people down after multiple violations.
i agree with you...
the only way to avoid is at least not submit to unlimites subscription plan agengy...
the link you quoted it's far from dangerous for us because he has to resell higher than what he payed...other links show people reselling from unlimited subscription and that's could be bad since they can resell for peanuts seen what cost a monthly subs plan at storyblocks or envato...

91
i find hard for them to resell from subscription plan like ss or pond5 because it would cost to much(you pay per clip/picture)...it's clear that those resellers take the image from unlimited subscription plan like storyblocks envato etcc......
i personally wouldn't want to be in the place of artists that feed those agencies to see my content bought for nothing and resold...
it's pretty clear where those agencies are driving this business to!!!
shame!!

92
I see that on Fiverr there are a lot of sellers that resell stock footage and pictures, that come from "all you can download" accounts, especially of storyblocks, but can come from any stock agency with low subscription plans.
We are all involved because they can access to yours and mine contents too.

I periodically make a search for them and report to the stock agency where they take the videos for the account to be banned and I report to fiver too.

some examples?
go to www.fiverr.com
and search for "videoblocks" , "storyblocks" or "stock footage" or "stock images"

not all are violating the terms because some are selling their own stock videos, but you can easily find the fake ones or contact them to investigate where they get the videos...

please help me to stop this behavior that is taking down our sales!

and beware to give your contents to an "all you can download" collections !

can you share a link of one of this thieves??

93
fortunately i don't submit to any unlimited subscription plans, and i find pretty obvious what is happening....people pay 20$ for a month subscription download as much as they can then resell it.....that's another reason to stop selling on this unlimited subscription plans that are destroying the entire industry....

94
i think files count doesn't take down the deactivated files...indeed many buyers can't buy what they need because the file still show but when you click to buy it says that there is an error and to contact support...

95
I feel most buyers do not care about contributors in general. Also, other agencies are also keeping a close watch on this, if SS wins they will also follow suit and lower royalties. In worst case scenario the low earning agencies like Dreamstime, Alamy, 123RF  etc will become the next Unsplash or Pixabay.
you right, customers don't care about contributors but they do care about what they need to buy...and now happens that they choose an image on ss and then realize that they can't buy it because the artist portfolio is deactivated...many artists are reporting mail from ss asking to reactivate the portfolio because a buyer want a picture from them..
This is a real pain for ss because as a buyer if i can't buy what i need and see in the library then i change agengy...

Shutterstock.com / Re: What does Shutterstock really want?
« on: June 06, 2020, 19:08 »
I think they use COVID-19 in a very perverse way as the perfect moment to reduce contributors payment in order to made bigger profit.

Because of COVID most of people are at home and the only chance for them to made incoming is SS, some people is even in a critical economic situation due to COVID, and because of that they will accept 10cents revenue.

COVID-19 the perfect storm for SS
you can easily go picking grapes and earn a lot more...

coronavirus it's completely unrelated to ss new earni g structure...they simply wants to regain market share  ...if you look at video side it"s pretty clear...they went subscription to fight back istock and other subscription plan based agency like envato and storyblocks...i can't blame ss for this because the culprits are the artsts that support those sites selling for peanuts...
i hate the 1 january reset and it's pretty unfair but ss won't step back till we support them...
u think they want to cut out small fish too indeed big contributors won't be affected that much...talking about video...

The Storyblocks footage collection is nothing like Shutterstock's...

What will happen to Blackbox now? Wasn't it their policy that they don't submit to subscription video sites?
put together istock storyblocks and envato, and think about how low are they price and do your math. .
pond5 adobe will follow because they will lose market share...
business has nothing to do with being good bad or greed,it's all about make money, they don't care if we lose money...

i wonder how many people complaining here are still submitting to istock getty or subs plans that pay you way less than ss...said that the reset on the 1th january is absolutely a money grab!!! they could take in account the year before instead of reset everything...but ss knows that artists will not close their port because as happened with getty istock many of them are still there...
if you want to make this story public we need a journalist who writes an article about this and make it viral all over place...
