Interesting idea and that makes sense. Is there any way you can see that that effort actually does anything? I mean if I put only my sold and popular images in the one pseudo, isn't that kind of like saying, after the fact, that something was a success? How do I predict the future?
Maybe what I do, doesn't lend itself to repeat sales from multiple buyers?
A new pseudo will start in a mid-rank position. When pseudo rank moved around, rather than picking my "best" shots for my "A grade" pseudo, I let the customer decide, using sales or zooms. Now, with stable pseudos, I'm not so sure what impact this has. But as you can imagine, it turns out that a popular image with one client is likely to be more popular with the next one. Also, it does make searching for usage for payback schemes easier since most sales are under my top pseudo name.

I too wonder why some really work the AoA data. It's too much work for me.
My secret tweak is as follows: I have two pseudos. (In prior days psuedo rank was really important for search placement. Still seems to be although it doesn't vary much anymore.) My top pseudo consists of sold or zoomed images. It has a high resulting rank. So when an image is sold or is zoomed, I change the pseudo for the image. This is also a fair bit of work, but keeping it up daily when I check sales, it's easy.

UPDATE.
So, I submitted the above image as illustrative editorial... and it got rejected because it did not meet their IE guidelines. Funny that, because that photo has been used dozens of times to illustrate news stories/articles on the current state of the property and construction markets etc...
Ho hum...
OK, now try to submit the houses as regular commercial.

Luckily I don't really do many editorial photos in general, so it isn't that much of a big deal to me. They are just a tiny fraction of my port. It just always puzzles me when people here say that Adobe basically accepted everything as editorial as long as there are no people in the photos. For me, unless it's a product photo, my editorial photos get rejected more often than accepted and I can't even figure out a pattern.
The thing is that a " Illustrative Editorial Guidelines" rejection could be for a number or reasons. For example, maybe they didn't like your annotation. A colon out of place for example.

And there we go again... 50 sales today for $0.12 each ($2.86 in my pocket)
In my stats Alamy has an overall RPD in 2022 of $0,41 at 61 sales, which makes it place No. 7 for RPD. It is time to leave them now :-)
Those downloads in the image, 14 of them are 1 time. Is that just for this report? Some show 4 times downloaded. It all looks like some big partner site that reported their first quarter uses.
No details on who and where, what kind of use?
@UnclePete: I just checked all the $0.12 sales (times the amount bought) again and there is no additional information about the sales in any form.
Just what my screenshot shows in the original post...
A response on the Alamy forum indicates this is a distributor sale in China. Just like back in December.

It appears that the 3 cents/download fees are for a distributor in China, again.

In order to tally up your 6 cents profit you need to click "download sales report" and set the box next to the GO button to "Date of Invoice". Now you can count all that money coming in

It gets even weirder. After clicking some uploaded images that Adobe converts my keywords to the AI guesses, I know that if I submit these, the keywords will be wrong.
After recording a screen grab video for Mat to show the disappearance of my keywords, and the disappearance of the AI keywords when clicking illustrative editorial, I left the test image in the "New" folder. After shutting down the Adobe web page, and re-opening it some hours later, the image in the "New" folder that had all the keywords erased, showed all my original keywords! And the keywords were stable to clicking anywhere. Clearly, if I submit this, the keywords will be correct on the site.
I may have to let newly uploaded images "mature" before annotating.
Bizarre.

One other odd result I see is that if I click the "This is Illustrative Editorial content" box, all the AI generated keywords disappear as if I had clicked the "erase all keywords" button. Why?

Mat has convinced me Ive removed COVID from the keywords in this hello winter set.
I just uploaded the file by itself in firefox. As with Chrome, the image has all my keywords listed in the column of keywords right after the upload. As soon as I click the thumbnail for even this single image (even though it is already selected) my keywords disappear and are replaced with the AI junk. Does that seem like a browser problem? Adobe had the keywords on upload but deleted them when I try to annotate the image. Does that not give a clue to an IT specialist at Adobe about what could be going wrong for me (and others)? I dont have any other ideas.

Hi Mat, thanks for following up.
Regarding COVID the winter festival in Barrie is usually called Winterfest. Because of COVID it has been greatly altered and this year called Hello Winter. I think its a fair keyword.
By standalone file you mean upload dozens of images one at a time? Thats a non-starter. I did try using Chrome instead of Firefox and watched carefully as each file uploaded. Every file had my keywords as they uploaded. BUT: when I went back and clicked the images for the upload, 5 of the 9 I uploaded CHANGED keywords to the AI guesses, including the image I sent you. So I believe something is wrong at the Adobe end. I dont know what SFTP means.

Reimar

Any developments on that Mat? I assume to got my image and found Adobe ignores my keywords on upload, but not my Title.

If the keyword isn't in the photo you aren't permitted to use it. I had this discussion with Matt. Perhaps it was removed because it wasn't deemed - "in the photo"
You don't understand the issue. ALL keywords attached to the image file are removed by AS on upload. They are replaced by guesses using AI. The made up keywords are mostly wrong and of no help. For each image, they need to be deleted and the proper keywords pasted in. AS has struggled with this for some years.
To clarify, auto-keywords are only generated if you upload an image with no keywords previously embedded in the metadata. If you attach keywords to your file before you upload, you will not see the auto-keywords, only your embedded keywords will appear in the UI.

That is the problem. That is how it's supposed to work. From time to time, I see a set of a dozen or more images uploaded with about half going through as if they had NO keywords. All images were prepared identically. The attached keywords of all my images upload fine at SS and Alamy. Like all sporadic problems, this one appears to be difficult for AS to fix. This has happened to me a year or so ago, and still happens from time to time. I haven't been uploading as much lately because I'm mostly a travel photographer grounded by COVID.

Thanks, I didn't see that other post. As a data point, I have not changed any versions of PS for keywording, and the vast majority go through just fine. I didn't try re-uploading, I just cut and pasted the keywords when I noticed they weren't right. If it happens again I'll try re-uploading to see if it repeats.
Yeah, I tried re-uploading to no avail. That had worked in the past for the odd time AS missed my keywords. But now about 60% of uploads miss my keywords. Like you I delete the keyword guesses and paste in my proper keywords.

Thanks Jo Ann. No I don't have any special characters. And some images make it through OK, while others fail even after trying to upload again. Strange.

I should also mention that SS and Alamy read the keywords fine. Also, the Title is also fine. You'd think AS would be well versed in keyword intake from an Adobe product.

Now that I have PS v23 installed, I've got it doing the same work as CC2015. I thought it might be better at selecting skies to not sharpen there, but I still need to use the magic wand as before. Still, it works fine. But ever since switching, AS refuses to accept my keywords in more than half my uploads. I get sneaky made up keywords, so I have to look at each upload carefully. Why? How can I stop this? I'm beginning to think the PS update is not worth it.

I don't know how to move my Nik collection "filters" over to the new version. May not be possible.
If you're on windows (don't know about Mac):
- there is a"plugins" folder in the photoshop folder (of your old photosshop version) on your system drive (something like C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2022\Plug-ins) - in there is a subfolder "google" (-> that contains the NIK filters) - simply copy that subfolder with all its contents in the plugins folder of your new photoshop installation
NIK filters should be there after your next start of PS.
Thanks. That worked nicely. I tried that before but was looking in the wrong place.

Thanks for the quick response Mat. I have never found it possible to "reach out to customer service via Adobe.com". There is no way to contact a live person by phone or online. All we get are archived previous answers from years ago. I've avoided doing this for years now, so I think I'm going to give it a try. Getting my NIK plugins and Actions transferred will be an ordeal I'm sure. I won't run both at the same time, and I will look out for the checkbox about deleting older versions when I install.
I take it back. I did have trouble getting CC and PS installed and running and this time there was a chat option. Someone took over my computer for over an hour and got me all straightened away. My actions got moved over. I don't know how to move my Nik collection "filters" over to the new version. May not be possible. Otherwise, both versions are working.

Something interesting in that article (but not really relevant to this discussion for which I apologize!). ....."A notable user account is Designs Stock, which has only 3,300 images in their portfolio but has as much traffic as account wavebreakmedia with 570,000 images. Also, the betto rodrigues account has the most traffic in the list of all 14,000 authors that we analyzed."
Betto Rodrigues account has the most amount of traffic but seems to have no or very few sales on their first page of 'top images'. Bizarre! [/quote] Probably people searching for particular models of cars, just to have a look. Not buyers.

I feel a bit of a luddite asking this, but I've been very comfortable using Photoshop CC2015 for so many years, I wonder if I need to update. Can I leave the CC 2015 on my desktop and try the cloud version of Photoshop at the same time? Thanks
I'm reluctant to confirm definitively the answer to this question since I am not on the Photoshop team or the Creative Cloud team. I am inclined to say that yes, it would be fine for you to do this but I recommend you reach out to customer service via Adobe.com first to confirm it for sure. That said, I was using CS2 for years and years and thought I had everything I needed. When I upgraded to the latest and greatest version of Photoshop I realized how much I was missing. With CC, you get the most up to date version available. Neural filters, sky replacement are just two huge (and super fun) tools you are missing out on right now. I am still using some of the same actions I created with CS2, but there are so many other features available to me, I couldn't imagine ever reverting back to a specific version.

In spite of AS not taking any editorial shots of mine, giving a portfolio 3500 image short of other sites, my earnings there were the best this month: $162. Alamy was $136 and SS was rubbish ($70).
