To complicate the question further why would a Canadian company be collecting taxes for the US at all? Does Canada have a tax treaty with the US?
Since they're owned by Getty, US tax laws are applicable.

because their 85% share of income is not enough.
As if they're keeping the 30% tax in their pocket.

That's maybe why there are doing endless discounts. Unbelievable, 50% off on yearly subscriptions. No wonder sales and revenue are down the drain.

Fotolia/Adobe Stock balance no longer seems to update.
Does the submission work?
Haven't tried that. But I do get a login screen popping up sometimes, which brings me to the general Adobe Stock front page. When I navigate to the Sign in page and enter my credentials, nothing happens.
Probably it asks you to authenticate with Fotolia, so you need to close that adobestock suggestion popup and sign in to fotolia directly (there should be a link to do that).;
Found the link, thanks!

The site is of course being actively run. I have not had time to actively post here or work on any significant changes to the site, but we make all payments that are requested once meeting our $50 threshold.
@ Niserin, please PM me your username or email address and I will look into your request. It's possible that since this post we've already addressed it, but I am not finding a username under "niserin" so unsure of your account credentials with us.
@ Me - I'm sorry to hear that, under my ownership I have paid out all payments requested in a timely manner. I don't imagine that was any time recent, but I'm happy to discuss further.
@ Stocktastic, I'm sorry to see any contributor account go, but being realistic with the nature of sales volume for many contributors, I of course understand it. I welcome all contributors to continue uploading, or to keep their portfolios on account. At the end of the day, even when an image doesn't sell, we incur costs of hosting the images, but that is not necessarily a reflection of the contributors work.
If anybody has any questions, you can always email me at [email protected]. I receive the emails directly to my phone and always try to respond same day.
Thanks,
Phil Shapiro
Just to make sure, outstanding royalties will be paid out upon account closure, even when the $50 minimum isn't met?

If I was American I certainly wouldn't vote Republican, but I also have doubts about the Democratic party. Luckily in the Netherlands we don't have a two-party system, but various political parties to choose from.
In the Netherlands you are ruled by Jean Claude Juncker and his unelected technocrats
Luckily, we're still autonomous, but EU's increasing regulations and desire for power is why I vote for a party that isn't pro-EU.

Why do they need to 'change their pricing model' for a simple conversion to another currency like CNY? Does China get lower prices than the rest of the world, and if so, why?

I do hope the AS contributor Insights section continues to improve, because at the moment it has less functionality than the old Fotolia sales section.

Why did you answer no to SS question? You could have explained you DID create a second account for your aunt. But my question is: why did you have to create the account for her anyway? Is she not capable of doing it herself? Something's fishy about this.
The phrasing of your question is suspicious too; how did Shutterstock 'find out'? That implies you were trying to hide it.

Search your inbox for CompEXT, which is the sender of the code.

Well I got my first sale according to the "new" commission schedule. I take this is a member sale, they get a 10% rebate right?

So... thinking of uploading to shutterstock...
Then took a look at a few numbers, did some math, and then noticed a few posts talking about 'spammy' portfolios (i.e., 1000 pictures of a pair of shoes, from 0-360 degrees in 0.3 degree increments, etc)...
If my math is correct, it seems on 'average' right now you'd need to have a portfolio size of about 10,000 images to 'make' about $600/year? Does that sound right? (Of course, I realize there would be outliers on both sides), but that seems to the case?
Any agreements/disagreements?
No, that calculation is way off, even for average standards. But it all depends on the quality of your content, and not so much on quantity. Of course it always helps to have MORE content of GOOD quality, but MORE content of MEDIOCRE quality won't increase your revenue. I also think spammy portfolios dilute their own RPI as their content is repetitive and becomes oversaturated.

Some have fallen away but it's still more than 10 agencies I upload to, thanks to automated software. Otherwise it'd been the top 5 agencies only.

Hi Mat, Im a video contributor and have met the requirements around Feb. 16th. But I didnt receive an Email yet. May I ask for your help? In fact, I had just renewed my subscription plan a few days ago - Im using a different email for that though. Thanks and all the best, Wolfgang
I suggest you contact Adobe Contributor Support. I used this contact form: https://contributor.stock.adobe.com/uk/contactI got a quick email back that I was eligible and on the list for the next wave of emails that are being sent out, so I'm eagerly waiting

I believe I qualified this month for the full CC package (more than 500 in video sales, 93% acceptance rate, and more than 1 file approved this year) but I've yet to receive a code. Hopefully it gets sent out somewhere in the first week of October if there are still codes available.

A question for Mat or anyone that knows...
I received the code, thanks.
But I am still using LR 5.7.1 and PS Elements 12, because I don't like subscriptions and the cloud... I like to buy a perpetual licence and use it as long as possible.
Should I decide to try it just because it's free, can I install it alongside the current perpetual versions? (in Windows 7 Pro 64 bit)
You can install multiple versions of Adobe software on the same machine. I once had Photoshop CS6, CC 2014 and CC2015 installed side by side, and it worked fine.

Shutterstock's goal is to increase downloads and thus profits, and to stimulate you to upload more work; they don't care how many downloads you personally get. Whether it's 50% of the downloads for contributor A and 50% for contributor B, or 100% for A and 0% for B, the bottom line is all that counts. That means the search algorithm is not designed to work against any specific contributor, it simply doesn't care as long as the bottom line is looking good.
In a suscription based model increasing downloads does not increase their profits.
Increasing downloads, or subscribers*
