I also dont get it , if I send a image of about 2500x1700 the largest size available on LO is "medium" of about 1500x1200.
Ok maybe the reason would be that my image doesn't qualify for their demands for being large , but there is big difference between 2500x1700 that was original and 1500x1200 the highest resolution that they offer.

If i look at the news i can clearly see that the biggest liers and cheaters come from the U.S. and not from the Eastern Europe or any other part of the world...

Wow! What a generalisation. I guess you believe everything that you see in the news.
I guess it doesn't matter that the United States has helped the word time and again (e.g., both World Wars), or that they are the most generous nation in the world when it comes to acts of charity.
All of humanity is sinful. We all have our bad side and our good side. Some more than others...
I don't like to talk about politics etc , but ichiros post was offensive for 100s of millions of people never mind about if he wanted to sound like that or not. I don't know where is he from and I don't care , I never look at people from the point of where they come from but how they act , and we are all individuals , and there are idiots everywhere but luckily there are more good and honest people everywhere too. Im will always be more critical to my first neighbor than to someone who lives on the other side of the world , I will be first one to say that my coutry is full of idiots. Yet again I will be first to stand against any generalization of a nation race etc. Just to make things clearer east European countries especially Slavic countries never attacked no one in history , never had colonies , never had slaves , never used atomic weapons etc... Than again , you can always google about crime rate in all world countries, and you will find your answers. Like i could read something like this: "According to the comparison of international crime statistics produced by the UN's Office for Drug Control and Crime Prevention, England and Wales had 9,766 crimes for every 100,000 people in the year 2000. America had 8,517, South Africa 7,997, Germany 7,621 and Russia 2,022" And from that I can just can make a preconception that ichiro was probably high at the time he was posting

Screw Paypal, I want Moneybookers Seriously now... Paypal isn't the greatest for countries that don't accept paypal. South Africa only accepts Moneybookers.
Agree on that , Paypal started to do business in this part of Europe not long ago , but its like one way train , we can only send money from the bank to paypal account but the other way around is not possible.

Had a week when I had 3 or 4 images at top 50 at the same time, the best one was 3. I think and it had about 40 downloads that week, and about 25 downloads first day it was uploaded.

I would suggest you to avoid sky in first submition , cause it can be tricky to reduce noise and not do remove details , and SS don't want , noise . I wouldnt send nothing over white in first batch also. I would sent the money shot , Spanish chapel ( but get rid of the noise on the sky , if any , you can use the blur tool also cause its clear sky shoot) , few of baby shoots , 2 lets say

I say Croatia or Greece if you like coast at summer. Im from Croatia and if you are not planning to stick to only one place , I can recommend to come here. Disadvantages of Croatia , well , night life is not so strong , and the places are crowded especially at end of July when half of Italy comes here.
Advantages , well its not expensive , the places are full of monuments dating from roman empire, there are lots of old small Mediterranean cities with lots of traditional architecture etc.
If I was in your shoes and if I could afford it , and if I have few people to go with I would rent a sailboat and a skipper and go for 7 days sailing on Adriatic , from Dubrovnik ( a must see place ) to Pula. There are no storms , there are small ports everywhere and for 3 or more persons its not expensive at all. Your camera should have a lot of work to do.

As I understand its not 2$ per photo but up to 2$ per photo and its from 10 cents per "acceptable quality photo" up to 2$ for "panoramic/ premium quality photo" , that means that you get less than 2$ per photo , probably even less than 1$ , and you get 20c when the image is downloaded. Well here is what they offer: http://www.stockphotospot.com/photographer_signup.php

Well I recently started to use keyword helper on CanStockPhoto and I find it more then useful.
The problem is that I would like to sort the keywords by alphabetical order somehow without doing it manually word by word ,but I don't know how to do that.
Thanks

Hi Rossco and welcome!
Definitely go for it! Agree with dbvirago about the flowers. For the 1st ten submissions, avoid them, plus the sepia tones and the B&W. Submit variety. Watch out for the noise. If you have not done so yet, spend some time in the critique forum to be familiar with the site expectation, you can even register and put a few of your pictures (with a 100% size crop) for some feedback from other photographers before submitting the 1st 10. Some do that so that they don't have to wait for a whole month before submitting again.
I joined DT last February, 2 weeks after SS, uploaded the same pictures. Without having models in my portfolio (by choice), I earn more than 4x more at SS than at DT.
Have fun and good luck!
I agree , I earn there about 2 times more than at all other sites together with exact same number of files submitted to all of them except to IS because of their number limit.

Void, totally understand. I'm not suggesting you're doing anything wrong.
We're in the early stages on building a customer base- I thought I would convey the images that are selling well on our site right now. I'm guessing these are also big sellers on other sites as well. As our reach becomes greater, a larger pool of our images will become marketable. People concept shots sell well.
I also wanted to convey as a general trend, the photogs that seem to upload on a regular basis have more downloads. This trend has changed a bit since we introduced our related images. This is specific to our site.
Our growth is being measured by weeks now, so I'm optimistic that we're on an upward trend that will benefit our members. I'm ok with being in the second group now, but we're not satisfied with just resting in the middle. I appreciate all the hard work our Carnies have put into our site.
Hi Bryan I would just like to ask you is it possible that you will start accepting borders again? I understand its LO policy not to accept them now , but they are selling quite well on all other sites I even sold few at LO so maybe it would be a good idea to reconsider that decision.

Why don't you just purchase it yourself via the Internet and then have it shipped to him with overnight shipping (or some other fast shipping method). This way he doesn't have to shell out the money or even go to the store. All he has to do is then receive the shipment and bring it to you.
If you don't trust him, then do the same thing as above but ask him for his credit card and use it to purchase the order and have it sent to him. Then you can repay him when you receive the merchandise.
Another option is to purchase it on eBay thru a seller that has a good reputation and have them ship it to you directly.
Well unfortunately I don't have a credit card and paypal doesn't work in Croatia. Even if i could , internet shopping is not a good option in country like mine. I heard many unpleasant experiences mostly with high taxes and provisions they charge you here , and the final price is often higher that to buy it here. I guess I will try convincing him to buy it from BHphoto with overnigh shipment option. Thanks again people

Given how much you'll save on the lens by buying here in the U.S., I'd have your friend order it with the more-expensive overnight shipping option. I have bought from Beach Camera, and recommend them. I just checked for you, and the lens is $1,100 U.S., with overnight shipping charges of $40 and guaranteed arrival by Dec. 20th if you purchase it today.
B&H has the same price for the lens, and they offer next-day delivery for $48.
Thanks Well over here the price of the lens is over 2300$ so almost everything is acceptable for me The problem is that I personally dont know that person that is buying the lens for me, and he is doing me a favor , he is buying it with his money and I will pay him when he arrives. But as i understood he prefers buyng stuff directly in the store and lives in a small town. The shops over there dont have internet addresses etc. So if I want him to buy it over the net I will have to explain him how step by step. So as I understand you I should mail him him to order it as quick as possible from BH photo , with express shipping and this shipment will be charged about extra 50 $ ? Thanks

I have a "friend of a friend" somewhere in USA write now and he is willing to buy me Canon 24-70 f2.8 L lens and its at least 2 times cheaper than here in Croatia.
But the problem is that he doesn't know where to buy it and like i understood I will have to find the way and the place where he will buy it , cause he doesnt want to bother with that.
I don't know even where is he , I just have the zip code : 48864 and I know is somewhere near Chicago. He is flying for Croatia 10 days from now. So I don't have much time , I have to find a dealer in that area , but I cant.
I found a good deal at BH photo video , so if he orders from there will 10 days be enough for shipment of the lens to him, how much will he be charged ....etc ?
If anyone has any suggestions or know how to find a dealer or anything please help cause I don't have any experience with things like that , and who knows when will I have another chance to buy that lens that cheap.
Thanks

And when we're talking about quality/rejections...
It would be easy for istock to make a profit from selling pictures of lousy (or not optimal) quality - The previews aren't very big and doesn't say much about the quality, so the customers will have to trust the agency in order to buy images.
I can agree on most of your points , IS has its standards and thats good. But if you are trying to say that all other sites are selling photos of worst technical quality then you are wrong. I'm ready to bet that SS (for example) rejects more photos with technical problems and demands at least the same quality as IS. The reason that they have higher acceptance is because they don't refuse for too many similar photos on site or we don't consider thats stockworthy reasons , and In my opinion thats positive , if the work is technically good then let the buyer decide if its worth buying or not , there can never be too much of good photos.

I started contributing about 6 months ago , but interesting that 6 or 7 months before that I bought my first camera and took my first photo ever , I don't recall I pressed the shutter ever before , maybe at some birthday when I was kid or something. I just hated when I had to smile in front of the camera and kept myself away from them. But i just love trying new stuff , so I used to paint allot , i play guitar and blues harp and stuff like that. One day I was surfing through some photos and I saw some Bressons work. After I saw that kid with a bottle of wine photo I decided that tomorrow I will buy a camera and start shooting. So I did , i bough Sony W-17 and started pressing the button like mad , i took few hundred photos first day , and they all sucked. So i decided to learn something and joined some photo community and i read 1000 of tutorials and posts, questions and answers etc , and one day I saw some topic about stock. Well there was a link to Scandinavian stock photos , and I join there first. I dont remember the order I was joining other sites but it was something like sites with more sales and potential at the end Well thats my story , I went a little out of bounds as the question was when did you start microstock but maybe someone is is bored and likes to read allot so ...
And I don't like image criticisms or accusations of conspiracy where the criticised person can't fight back.
Well I wasn't involved in those topic , but just to jump in ....
So if you lurk so much u probably know what happens at certain forums if you post something it cant be beaten with words or if it doesnt please someone...... , locking , deleting etc .... so If you want to defend the freedom of speech so much you have some more places to visit and posts to write.
And next thing , if certain approver can criticize mine or any other persons work, why couldnt I or any other person criticize his work on a neutral site and post an image that after him or her is worth approving , ant that photo was never the subject of that post it was just an object for judging someones objectivity.
You miss the point , on purpose or not but anyway it never was about the photographer it was about reviewers work.
If i had to bet about how many people are hiding in those 2 post i put my money on one , and if I had to say if the photographers work that was posted was the whole problem or was it something else I would bet on something else.
And for the end as good old Dylan would say : "So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late"

I'm wishing there was a way to edit keywords and/or descriptions... I've got to stop uploading at midnight and 1 in the morning.. I've gone back and found typo's that make me look like an uneducated idiot. Maybe I should make a point of proof reading everything a dozen times... One thing about LO is that you CAN go back and edit. But I don't see that you're allowed on most other sites... or am I missing something? Please, educate me. There are too a few pix here and there that I put up when I first got into the biz that I'd like to take off myself. But, if there are ways to edit on SS, DT, BS and others, I'd sure like to know how.
On Shutterstock , on first page you go to "Status of submitted photos" then Photos Approved , select any batch of photos and there you have an edit option for every file in that batch , ( looks like a small pen).

I requested a payment from StockXpert and it took 11 days to get a payment notification saying they had sent a check. It's been another 11 days and still no check. Doesn't seem like it should take this long for a check to go from Hungary to the US. Only takes 4 days for a letter to make it to Germany.
For those who have requested checks before, how long did it take to receive it?
Im from Croatia , and we are neighbors with Hungary , so aprox same distance to USA . When I was still requesting cheques it took about a week from the day they were sent from USA till they arrived in Croatia. Well thats the opposite direction , but it should be the same. I never had a check sent from SX , so I cant help you there , but I had few Moneybookers payment from them and they were always on time , at least in my case.
