I don't think you need worry, the picture was clearly purchased correctly because you are credited in the text below the picture, this would be absent if it had been purchased illegally. Looking at the other pictures most of them are credited Shutterstock images so I am certain it is a genuine purchase. Well done!

I had an experience with them lately when I emailed the general shutterstock help desk. My question was "Spotted my image but was never downloaded - ID: 1155909112"
Answer:
"Hi I'm XYZ and have been submitting to Shutterstock for around 7 years. I have submitted stock of various types including model released and editorial. Hopefully I can be of help. It can take a little time for sales to be recorded through the system so hopefully your sale will appear soon"

So they clearly work on some sort of Uber-style rating system, which rewards/punishes them accordingly.
As for answering my question...it's dubious and overly optimistic. Are SS the new Alamy where they use now and pay later? Strange.

Alamy has some of the biggest range of license prices I've ever heard of...
I've read about both 50cent net licenses ---> $1200 net and everything in between.

I don't see Master Steve ever whining and his results speak for themselves with hard work and dedication to his craft.

what are the techniques you guys use? Doesn't quite answer the question but by improving your English (either by lessons or just reading/speaking more), you'll inevitably improve your vocabulary. Without a good grasp, no software will really be accurate. Compared to most languages out there, English is relatively simple!

I think tagging/key wording takes most on my time (like 80%) and I think the main reason is English is my 3rd language. Anyone else been here? what are the techniques you guys use? It is also mine and I spend longer doing it than I would like... There's really no shortcuts, you need to "think like a buyer". Luckily there's plenty of software out there available such as keyword.io and Stocksubmitter-built in. Worst case scenario, you can pay someone to keyword for you. Good luck

Interesting to see that we both started uploading at around the same time (2009), to the same * agency (iStock) and also gave up lol and you go back in 2013 into the game and me also around then. The rest is history! I also agree that we should have stuck with it but I was too busy 10-tabling online cash poker haha
Well written and useful article. I like the chickens and wardrobe images, simple, commercial and technically well done...and probably most important: apparently timeless, as they keep earning for you (algos probably rank them highly for popular keywords).

Unusually, for each of the past 4 days I'm getting 10-14 individual subscription (maximum resolution) sales of similar locations.
It's bittersweet since of course it's nice to get sales on this otherwise dying agency, but also feel that someone is having a garage sale on my images in light of their "Royalty-Free Limit Free" policy.
Anybody else experiencing similar?

Actually, you are just trying to get traffic to your site. Be honest.  Of course I am, but I think there's some value in some of the research I've been doing in the past few days on trends. It's more useful than the latest-trending "Caps" theories discussions on here...
