For some eastern orthodox churches, Christmas is in January. I haven't heard of the one in February. There's always Chinese New Year though

I also made it in yesterday! 8 of 10 were accepted, one rejected for keyword irrelevancy and they were right.
Today, I already had my first sale even though my pictures do not come up in searches yet. 830

Nicely designed site. I hope they do well. No sales for me there yet, although my portfolio is small.

Shutterstock.com / Re: advice for submitting to SS first time« on: November 16, 2008, 21:49 »
I just got in SS today. I tried to concentrate on daylight, low noise shot with people, because that seemed like the easiest way to get technically acceptable images.
You can check my application photos here: http://submit.shutterstock.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50393 8 of them got accepted, with one rejection being for keywords only I also kept the sizes of images to just above 4.5 megapixels. I hope this helps. 833

Thanks stormchaser. Yes, it takes a while with IS' upload process to get some images online, but I'll be patient. Today I had my first rejection because of keywords, and even because they thought the signature on model release does not match the printed name! Oh well, I just need to wait a couple of weeks to explain

Just to give an update to this, I got accepted to IS a week ago. I used one of the images from my previous application (The boy jumping), and two new images, one of a landscape and another of still life objects.
Today, my first uploaded files got approved! ![]() 837

John has also mentioned that they have enough money to run for a year at least, so that gives some security too...

With John's attitude and drive to success, I really believe that Cutcaster is here to stay. It's great to hear that it is also already getting some traction with potential customers and agencies.
Best wishes for success! 841

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia became our n.1 today!« on: November 13, 2008, 18:18 »
Thank you saniphoto, yes, I'm beginning to learn the specifics of each site which is important to know. However, I agree with whitechild: the specifics, the reviewers, and the site policy can change at any time. That is why I'm not trying to rely on one site only, but rather taking my chance in a few of them. It is good for my experience, and, when added together, good for the total number of downloads as well.

Fotolia has been my number one since I started a couple of months ago. Very good download to portfolio size ratio so far. I wish the other sites were nearly as good for me as Fotolia.

Photoshop Discussion / Re: Is there a way to force PS Camera RAW to render as CNX?« on: November 08, 2008, 00:30 »
You're right, I spoke too fast after seeing only one picture. Perhaps someone has edited the provided profiles with the profile editor and achieved a satisfactory result? Inany case, it seems that we are stuck with CNX for best rendering.

After upgrading to the newest version of Camera RAW, I managed to get the Camera Profiles to appear there. After choosing Adobe standard beta 2, the rendered file looked very close to how it usually looks in Capture NX.

Thanks for posting the link whitechild. The beta product from Adobe did not work for me, i.e. the PS Camera Raw did not see it. Anyone else tried this with more luck?

I also see the same difference between images rendered in CNX2 and PS Camera RAW. Does anyone has a clue how to set up PS Camera RAW for better rendering?
